This would be my first time to Italy and I booked this hotel for its proximity to the train station. Granted, it is in a business area of the city, so there are very few tourists roaming around. Friendly greeting at check-in, and the woman was enthused that it was my first time and gave us a map with the hotel location and which metro to take, or which way we should walk into town. We were given a room on the 3rd floor, but when we got off the elevator, it was right in front.

We went back down to change rooms, and the same woman, wish I remembered her name, said "No problem. All rooms are assigned and we can change after check-in." I do believe I sent in that request, but she moved us to the 5th floor away from the elevator, and I think a much better room, 508. Comfy twin beds apart from each other, desk and two chairs, room to move around in. In-room safe in closet, but the bathroom was a little small. I could point out some cosmetic flaws, but my trip was to see the ancient sites of the city and not the cracks and crevices of my hotel room.

We thought the internet charge was a little steep, 20E for 24 hrs. The laundry service was pretty expensive too, but there's a self-service Wash Planet around the corner on Via Fabia Filzi, which someone from the customer service hotline told me. Impressive fitness center which I thought I should've taken advantage of since there's some good restaurants within walking distance. We also didn't eat in the restaurant since there were places to explore. Overall, everyone we encountered, housekeeping and maintenance included, were friendly. The only indifference we experienced was from the bell staff, which was odd. A smile and a hello makes an even better impression.

I thought I took photos, but I guess I forgot. We didn't use public transportation and walked into town twice which was very interesting to see different areas. I observed the lobby when I was printing documents from the guest computer. I would say that this is a hotel that caters mostly to business people. I would definitely stay here again if my travels brought me back to Milano.

it is located almost bang next to the central train station. so commuting to other parts of the city is not that difficult. it is about 3 to 4 metro stations from the Duomo and about 40 min to 1 hour taxi ride to Malpensa (Euro 100).

Rooms appear to have been renovated. bed was comfortable. carpets were not smelly. adequate space in the room. pillow options were good. air conditioning was OK. toilet was OK although the shower temperature kept fluctuating repeatedly and that can be an irritant.

breakfast was good but boring - very predictable. the restaurant food was good but then best to eat outside as the options are just 'wow'. the staff were very nice and genuinely seemed intent on making the guest comfortable and happy.

laundry service was efficient.

the only issue was the internet. internet was not free in the room. not only that, the only purchase option available was for 24 hours for Euro 20 and that too based straight 24 hours irrespective of actual use. i am not sure why free wifi cannot be provided (how expensive and damaging to the bottomline can it be?) and even if it has to be purchase then why are there no other options of lesser time windows? quite daft policy in today's time and world.

Arrived in Milan on the train from Verona, the hotel is out the front exit, on your right a block or two. There is construction, so we crossed the street, walked a little bit, then crossed back over. The hotel has a lovely lobby, the staff was friendly. We were given a beautiful room on the 4th floor – as you walk in the door there was a big closet with a safe, iron and ironing board, walking further into the room was a small sitting area with a desk (hair dryer underneath the desk), TV, drawers for storage, a mini bar, two chairs and a coffee table. In the same room was a king size bed with two night stands. The bathroom had double sinks, a bath tub, a shower and another hair dryer. Attached to the room was a huge balcony, it was just beautiful – no furniture, but a nice area!

The first thing on our agenda was laundry, we were told of a self-service laundry (Wash Planet) – turn left out of the hotel, then take the first left, walk about 3 blocks and it’s on your left. It was kind of a sketchy place, it cost 9 Euros for one wash and dry, took about 60 minutes total. They sold laundry detergent for 1 Euro, I brought my own. It is a very tiny place, nowhere to fold or sort clothes. To pay for the washer, someone working there took our money and then started the washing machine from the back room; the dryer took tokens or Euros and you could do that yourself. It should be noted that the hotel also provides a laundry service, not sure how much that costs or how long it takes.

Being Diamond Hilton Honor Members we had access to the Executive Lounge. It was a very nice area that included an outside balcony. Snacks in the Lounge were o.k, we enjoyed the free wine. For us, breakfast was not as good as the evening reception had been, we were especially disappointed in the coffee – we wondered if it was syrup instead of beans. The breakfast provided included eggs, bacon, breads, fruits, etc. Every time we were in the lounge the staff were friendly and busy, keeping the room clean and the food are stocked.

On our second night at the hotel we decided to eat supper in the bar, I had a Club Sandwich with French fries, my husband had a pasta dish. We asked for ice water, but they would only sell us bottled water. Our bill came to 56 Euros, this included a 3.50 euro service charge per person. My opinion is it was a mistake eating at the hotel, had it not been raining we definitely would have eaten somewhere else nearby. While my husband thought his pasta dish was extremely good, I did not feel my club sandwich was worth 21 Euros, and I especially hated paying that service charge. The second night we went around the corner to Norin Caffe Bistro, each of us had a serving of lasagna and a glass of wine, the total bill came to 23 Euros. The Norin Caffe Bistro closes at 7:30 pm.

We really enjoyed our room and thought it was comfortable, the one thing I did notice was how dirty the carpet was coming off the elevators and in the hallway; that did not give a very good impression. I’m not sure if we would stay at this hotel again if we were to visit Milan, we probably would check out hotels closer to the city center.
