Robert De Niro, 80, gushes that his daughter Gia, one, is 'a little doll'... and reveals the heartwarming first word she just tried to say

Robert De Niro, 80, gushed that his one-year-old daughter Gia is 'a little doll and called her 'so cute, and so innocent, and so lovable.'

He and his girlfriend Tiffany Chen, 45, welcomed Gia last April and announced her arrival a few weeks later, sending shock waves through the public.

Now a father of seven - with children raging in age from 52 to one - Robert has raved about the joys of being a parent even at his advanced age.

'I’m lucky,' the GoodFellas actor explained. 'I have had help doing it with the kids, with the babies, so that makes it easier, more manageable.'

The Taxi Driver star also shared the adorable first word that little Gia recently attempted to say, in an interview with Haute Living.

'My girlfriend told me that she said a word close to "dada" yesterday. I wasn’t there, but she was looking for something yesterday, and she said the word,' he said.

'Every little word that she says - or every little beginning of a word that she’s starting to say now - is very sweet and adorable. It’s that simple.'

De Niro recently went viral for a splashy appearance outside Donald Trump's hush money trial in Manhattan, where he headlined a press conference for the Joe Biden campaign.

The trial hinged on Trump's 34-installment payment to porn star Stormy Daniels to suppress her allegation that he had sex with her just months after his wife Melania gave birth to their son Barron.

Trump was ultimately convicted of 34 felonies - one for each installment - and promptly received a surge in his poll numbers and donations from Americans who regarded the legal proceedings as politically motivated.

In a flamboyant speech in front of the courthouse, De Niro denounced Trump as a 'clown' who 'could destroy the world' as the ex-president's supporters heckled him.

Chelsea Handler, who is also a vociferously outspoken critic of Trump, revealed in early May that she was infatuated with De Niro.

'I feel sexually attracted to Robert De Niro, I always have and I would like to be penetrated by him,' she declared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

De Niro was himself appearing on the same program that evening, and was accompanied to the studio by his girlfriend.

'I couldn't even go near him backstage because his girlfriend's back there and I don't want her to think that I'm making a move, but I want to make a move,' said Handler.

Her remarks came months after Handler roasted De Niro as part of a handful of 'horny old men' who cannot restrain themselves from having children.

She also took aim at Al Pacino, 84, who has four children, Alec Baldwin, 66, who has eight children, and Elon Musk, 52, who has 11 children.

'There's an epidemic sweeping the country and, no, it's not another virus, it's worse. Horny old men who won't stop spreading their seed,' she joked on Instagram.

'Don't get me started on these four horny old men who have never met a broken condom they didn't like. They cannot stop procreating.'

The comic quipped: 'Elon Musk clearly isn't as old as Murdoch or De Niro, he's not in his 80s but because of his personality, he may as well be.'
