Every childhood is worth fighting for and the UK Government can make sure every child can thrive if they: 1. Invest in early help services so children and families get support before they reach crisis point: Together, we want every baby, child, young person and family to get the right support at the right time. 2. Give children the same protection from physical assault as adults: Together, we must be clear that physical punishment is harmful and should never be a part of any childhood. 3. Support parents and their babies in the early years of a child’s life: Together, we must make sure that every baby grows up in a safe home with love and care they can rely on. 4. Keep children safe in education: Together, we provide young people with relationships education in school that’s relevant to the reality of their lives in a safe and trusted environment. 5. Protect children online: Together, we must make sure that Ofcom and tech companies do everything possible to protect children and make sure young people’s views inform decisions about online safety. 6. Help children and young people recover from abuse: Together, we must make sure the criminal justice system is child-centred and, wherever they live, young witnesses and victims can access therapeutic services to recover from abuse and neglect.

For many young people, the long summer holidays can leave them feeling isolated and disconnected. Building Connections is an online service that helps empower them to build their confidence and find a way through loneliness, working with a trained befriender who guides and supports them. Professionals can refer young people to the service, find out more: https://lnkd.in/ey-TfGbs Last week, we were thrilled to launch our new partnership with Clarion Housing Group to help support Building Connections over the next 3 years! #LonelinessAwarenessWeek #BuildingConnections #TacklingLoneliness
