Every childhood is worth fighting for and the UK Government can make sure every child can thrive if they: 1. Invest in early help services so children and families get support before they reach crisis point: Together, we want every baby, child, young person and family to get the right support at the right time. 2. Give children the same protection from physical assault as adults: Together, we must be clear that physical punishment is harmful and should never be a part of any childhood. 3. Support parents and their babies in the early years of a child’s life: Together, we must make sure that every baby grows up in a safe home with love and care they can rely on. 4. Keep children safe in education: Together, we provide young people with relationships education in school that’s relevant to the reality of their lives in a safe and trusted environment. 5. Protect children online: Together, we must make sure that Ofcom and tech companies do everything possible to protect children and make sure young people’s views inform decisions about online safety. 6. Help children and young people recover from abuse: Together, we must make sure the criminal justice system is child-centred and, wherever they live, young witnesses and victims can access therapeutic services to recover from abuse and neglect.

Since the murder of our most precious son James, on 23rd June 2017, my life and primary focus has been and will continue to be, raising awareness of all the issues surrounding knife crime, and playing my part, in bringing about an end to the shameful scourge of our times. His unnatural death hit us like a bolt out of the blue; to this day, we are still reeling from the shock of the dreadful event itself and in utter disbelief and despair at his loss. We now share and understand the pain of thousands of families like us across the UK, whose lives have been shattered through almost inexplicable sudden violent death. The truth is, that these deaths are not inexplicable and serious youth violence is not inevitable and is entirely predictable and therefore, preventable. We have created a unique and independently accredited educational programme for children and young people, which proves it. It is called The James Brindley Full Circle Programme, which tackles the root causes of serious youth violence. This programme is turning young lives around and therefore saving lives and saving more families from the pain of facing life without their sons. If parents, families, friends and communities who are unaffected by knife crime, continue to believe this is an issue for someone else, think again. It will take something much more powerful than government, and much more powerful than law enforcement and the criminal justice system. It will take the power of society as whole, starting with parents, families and communities, to put our children’s safety front and centre of everything we do. Right now, you could play your part in safeguarding children across England, by signing our government petition to put education around the prevention of knife crime on the RHSE curriculum in schools. Anyone can sign, including children, as long as you are a UK citizen and have an email address. It takes literally seconds… Here is the Link: https://lnkd.in/eBADA3dk Everyone should do it and feel proud that they have contributed to a vital step change in our children’s education and safety. We want to live in a country where no one walks in fear of youth violence. #knifecrime #petition #csr

My heart is heavy after seeing some stories of child abuse. Childhood is a crucial time for learning, growing, and playing, and it should be protected at all costs. Instead of being subjected to hazardous or exploitative labor, children should have access to quality education, safe environments, and opportunities to develop their full potential. We, as a society, must work together to eliminate child labor by enforcing strict laws and regulations, raising awareness about its negative consequences, and supporting initiatives that promote education, child protection, and the well-being of children around the globe. Every child deserves a chance to live a life free from exploitation and to have the opportunity to achieve their dreams. #EndChildLabor #ChildrensRightsMatter, #SayNoToChildLabor, #ChildhoodMatters, #EmpowerEveryChild, #EthicalChildhood, #StopChildExploitation,

Safeguarding Consultant, with field experience in Safeguarding children, policy design and implementation, and facilitating Safeguarding trainings. Author of Shielded Space Safeguarding Blog
I am honoured to speak tomorrow at an the International Day of The Girl Child event in Multigrace College. So, while preparing for my talk on Abuse Recognition and Reporting in schools, I thought to post my thoughts on the importance of this topic. As an advocate for safe learning environments, I believe that every child deserves to study, learn, and grow in a space free from harm, and empowering them to recognise indicators of abuse amongst their peers is a step in the right direction. Why is Abuse Recognition and Reporting crucial? Firstly, it helps with Early Intervention. When children can identify signs of abuse, they become the first line of defense. Early recognition means early intervention and, potentially, preventing further harm. Secondly, teaching students to recognise and report abuse creates a Safe Learning Environment: Teaching them to report any concerning behaviour ensures that the learning environment remains free from harm. Furthermore, empowering children with knowledge and the means to report abuse gives them a voice in their safety. It helps them understand that they have the right to speak up and be heard. Additionally, reporting abuse promptly ensures that victims receive the peer support and care they need to heal. It can make a world of difference in their recovery journey. Finally, when children are educated about abuse recognition and reporting, they become more vigilant and better equipped to prevent future incidents. If you work in a school, you can make it safer by educating, promoting open dialogue and having appropriate confidential reporting channels. If we can empower our children with the tools to protect themselves and their peers, we can create safer environments and also nurture a generation of responsible, compassionate, and empowered individuals. #ChildProtection #EmpowerChildren #SafeSchools #ShieldedSpace #Safeguarding Please share this message to spread awareness. Our children's safety is a collective responsibility.

📥 I NEED YOUR INPUT ❓NARCAN IN SCHOOLS 💌 The wellbeing our youth will forever remain a passion of mine. Working as a Apex Police School Resource Officer for 7 years provided me an opportunity to make impact in school safety. Today there are many concerns that continue to be presented to my office. The increase in youth substance misuse sounds an alarm for our community. We must do more to address the factors that affect our youth in this regard. I have been invited to share my experiences as an SRO and now Mayor of our town at an upcoming meeting along with other government officials. Most of the concerns I plan to share surround the increased ease of accessibility to illegal substances, limited community knowledge and law enforcement challenges associated with enforcing this criminal activity and how it creates a community public health and safety risk. I will continue to work diligently to make Narcan a life saving resource for staff in high schools. School Resource Officers can’t carry this responsibility alone. While I have received information from law enforcement professionals, I’m asking for your feedback and any concerns you may have with school safety. This information will allow me to represent our community in the best interest. What are your concerns? *The mission of the Mayor’s Substance Misuse Task Force is to provide education, resources, and hope for those affected by substance misuse. https://lnkd.in/e-Czbp_R (https://lnkd.in/e-Czbp_R)

Addressing youth and child vulnerability requires the measurement and assessment of its contributors and manifestations in order to inform policies and interventions to prevent it. While policies can lead change at a systemic level, schools, families, and communities must work together to ensure a holistic approach to tackling child vulnerability.

The education sector has a responsibility to protect children and young people from substance use. Prevention should start early, cover all age groups, and especially target critical transition periods in the development of children and young people. #ExitDrugs #Back2SchoolUg

Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) approved for five years based Non-Profit Organization Meaning of Astha Mahila Bal Vikash Sansthan in English (Dedication to Women Children Developmental Organization)
That's absolutely right! Child protection is crucial because children need care, support, and protection to ensure their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. Children are vulnerable and dependent on adults for their safety and development. Child protection is important because children need: 1. Safety from harm, abuse, and exploitation 2. Support for their physical and emotional development 3. Guidance and education to make informed decisions 4. Protection from neglect and abandonment 5. Advocacy to ensure their rights and interests are represented 6. Care and nurturing to build self-esteem and confidence 7. Protection from child labor and exploitation 8. Access to education and healthcare 9. Support for their social and emotional development 10. A stable and loving environment to grow and thrive. Child protection is essential to ensure that children can grow up in a safe and supportive environment, free from harm and exploitation, and able to reach their full potential.
