No Strings Attached is our brand-new initiative launched to combat period poverty amongst students and staff. From today, students and staff will be able to access sanitary products in our toilets as and when they need them during the day, completely free of charge.

A recent survey to mark Menstrual Hygiene Day 2022, found that nearly one in eight people (12%) in Great Britain have struggled to buy menstrual products in the last six months. Amid the cost-of-living crisis, many are being forced to prioritise household essentials over sanitary products.

We have decided to take action to ensure our students have access to essential products within our venue. There will be baskets within all daytime toilets (JC’s, Student Hub, Lounge, Living Room) with sanitary items, completely free of charge no questions asked. We are aware that students and staff already face growing financial pressure, and this initiative acts to ensure that nobody should have their studies or work affected by having their period.

Nobody should have to worry about affording sanitary products. Period.
