Madagascar is one of the ten most disaster-prone countries in the world and faces increasing hazards. Climate change has increased the already scarce food supply in the Madagascar Grand Sud region and multiple extreme weather events have damaged homes and public infrastructure severely impacting access to health care.
The Health and Nutrition Cluster was activated in January 2022 to respond to health needs left over by years of extreme weather-related disasters, exacerbated by the COVID -19 pandemic. The cluster coordinates the actions to address critical gaps within the health emergency response, by supporting information management, community education and communication, and building resilience for a long-term recovery mechanism through timely, effective and appropriate coordinated health interventions.
The information displayed here is updated in reference to the Health Cluster dashboard, in quarterly periods.
