As Colombia approaches the end of the armed conflict between the Government and the FARC-EP – a decades long conflict that has created millions of victims – its humanitarian situation looks to improve. There is, however, ongoing concern over the impact of other armed groups, who continue to cause displacement and commit human rights violations including sexual violence and murder. Sexual violence is increasing, particularly against young girls aged 10-14. Colombia is also vulnerable to natural disasters. Current activities of the Health Cluster include improving the maternal and neonatal health of indigenous people, capacity building for health workers, and suicide prevention.
