Haïti

Amidst a dire humanitarian crisis in Haiti in 2023, over 5.2 million individuals, almost half the population, urgently require aid and protection, marking a distressing doubling of the needy population over five years. Gang-related violence pervades the nation, with Port-au-Prince particularly affected, resulting in extreme brutality, collective rapes, and child involvement. Attacks on medical and educational facilities intensify the crisis, witnessing a nine-fold rise attacks on healthcare workers. Alarming food insecurity, notably in Cité Soleil, coupled with severe acute malnutrition in Port-au-Prince, accentuates the crisis. These statistics represent lives gripped by fear and adversity. The health cluster along with its partners aims to reinforce resilience, national capacities, and long-term development. There is an urgent need for collaboration and aid to uplift the Haitian population.
