We recently participated in another insightful ANREV event in Tokyo, where Charter Hall was proud to be the major sponsor. Our CIO Sean McMahon presented on the Outbound Panel for Japanese Capital. Some key takeaways from an Australian perspective include:   ▪ Asia Pacific’s top ten city/sector investment destinations continue to be dominated by Australian and Japanese cities. Sydney and Melbourne have been preferred markets for the past eight years.    ▪ For Asia Pacific, an average of 7.1% of investors’ portfolios are allocated into real estate. With the target allocation at 8.4%, this is signalling headroom for more capital inflow into the region. By market, Australia represented the largest differential between current (6.6%) and target (8.33%) allocations.   ▪ Significantly, on the day Australia was also nominated as the preferred outbound market for Japanese capital, ahead of the US and Europe.   As Sean explained at the panel session, “Australia is seen as a Global Safe Haven for foreign capital providing double digit returns on a risk adjusted basis with low volatility, delivering outperformance over multiple time series. With 13 major Japanese investors in our Funds Management platform, we've enjoyed a decade long association with the Japanese investment community and are well-positioned for further growth together.” Learn more about how we partner with our investors here: https://lnkd.in/gPHZQA9m

As Australia’s largest food logistics landlord, 43% of our $25.3 billion Industrial & Logistics portfolio is dedicated to food logistics tenant customers. We've cultivated these strong partnerships over many years, by gaining a deep understanding of the challenges they're facing and the opportunities they're pursuing. We then leverage our scale and cross-sector expertise to co-create solutions that support their ambitions. The Stories Behind Our Partnerships video series demonstrates how our Industrial & Logistics customers have benefited from these active partnerships. In our first video, we take a closer look at the partnerships we have with our food logistics tenant customers. Watch the video and learn more about how partnership drives success here: https://lnkd.in/gPa9QfYh

Charter Hall has been recognised with Silver in the annual Pride in Diversity Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI), which benchmarks Australian employers and their efforts towards improving LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace. We know that great things can happen when people feel they belong, which is why we’ve worked hard to foster an inclusive culture via our CH Proud Community since 2019. Our employee network continues to engage with peers, customers and industry groups to ensure we grow our Ally network, celebrate our differences and that Charter Hall remains an employer of choice. We’re proud of our progress as we elevate from Bronze status, and we will continue to work hard to ensure people can bring their authentic selves to work each day. #PrideInDiversity #AustralianLGBTQInclusionAwards #AWEI #AWEI2024

This National Reconciliation Week, we're pleased to share that our Stage Two: Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) has been endorsed by Reconciliation Australia. Since our inaugural RAP in 2021, we've achieved significant milestones: building cultural awareness, boosting spend with First Nations businesses, and supporting empowerment through initiatives like the Charter Hall Indigenous Scholarship program with Western Sydney University.   Looking forward, we're focused on enabling First Nations peoples to shape their economic futures by creating employment opportunities and championing education. This aligns with our community investment philosophy of fostering self-determination.   Launching our RAP during National Reconciliation Week prompts reflection on our journey so far and the road ahead. To mark this milestone, we hosted a range of events across the country for our people, customers and communities, from weaving workshops and performances to bush food breakfasts and a silent auction to support The Indigenous Literacy Fund.   Take a look at what we got up to below and read our RAP here: https://lnkd.in/grpsqn_d

As a proud partner of Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds, we hosted a number of events with our Industrial & Logistics tenant customers to mark R U OK? in Trucks & Sheds National Day of Action. The National Day of Action has been running for three years, and we're pleased to have been involved from the very beginning. Aimed at preventing and understanding mental health issues that exist across the road transport, warehousing and logistics industries, we came together with our tenant customers CEVA Logistics, Chemist Warehouse and Border Express Pty Ltd, over breakfast, lunch and coffee, to encourage time out for connection and conversation. Charter Hall takes an industry-leading approach to creating healthy work environments, and we'll continue to play our part in normalising conversations around mental health. #RUOKtrucksandsheds

Last night, we had the privilege of hosting the inaugural Change Makers event in collaboration with our long-term partners Two Good Co and the Property Industry Foundation (PIF), coinciding with Youth Homelessness Matters Day. A sell-out event, it was heartening to see the overwhelming support from our industry’s next generation. Designed to inspire action and drive meaningful impact, the panel discussion, facilitated by PIF Future Leaders Committee member Mackenzie Moores-Sipos and featuring our very own Natalie Devlin, Two Good Co’s Kyle Westgarth and Homeless Youth Advocate Brendan Brest, shed light on the importance of collaboration and tangible action in addressing youth homelessness. Alongside these discussions, the real-life stories of young people resonated deeply, reminding us of the urgency and importance of our collective mission. We’re proud to have been a part of PIF's new Change Makers series, a platform dedicated to engaging with future leaders and driving change. We're excited to see the impact they'll make.   Learn how you can support Youth Homelessness Matters Day through their donate an hour of your pay campaign here: https://lnkd.in/din5-fsi.   Sign the petition to develop a standalone national strategy to end child and youth homelessness here: https://lnkd.in/eXkyzz_E.

Together with Western Sydney International Airport (WSI), we’re thrilled to unveil the latest addition to Australia’s business landscape - a dynamic 24/7 Business Precinct in one of the nation’s fastest-growing regions. This marks a significant milestone, as we embark on a 50/50 joint venture partnership with WSI.   With plans already underway, the first stage of development promises 400 construction jobs and 2,000 permanent positions upon completion. Located at the main gateway to WSI, the 20-hectare mixed-use development will include up to 40,000 square meters of modern warehouse space, ancillary offices, a 150-room hotel catering to flight crews, a service station, food and beverage outlets, and gym and conference facilities. Construction also includes internal and external roads, connections to arterial roads and landscaping.   Leveraging our cross-sector experience, extensive tenant customer relationships and commitment to sustainable development, we’re excited to set a new standard for excellence. Keen to be part of this innovative precinct? Visit https://lnkd.in/gKdZs9Sq for details.

We invest in places that transcend physical structures; places where people feel empowered and valued. That’s why we've taken Two Good Co’s #SafeSpacesPledge – transforming our workplace bathrooms into safe spaces for women to gather themselves, find solace and access crucial resources. As a partner of Two Good Co’s for many years, we’re pleased to support this important initiative, empowering women through authentic and accessible domestic violence support. Discover how your business can take the pledge here: https://lnkd.in/gxyyEKfz.
