Charter Hall has been recognised with Silver in the annual Pride in Diversity Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI), which benchmarks Australian employers and their efforts towards improving LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace. We know that great things can happen when people feel they belong, which is why we’ve worked hard to foster an inclusive culture via our CH Proud Community since 2019. Our employee network continues to engage with peers, customers and industry groups to ensure we grow our Ally network, celebrate our differences and that Charter Hall remains an employer of choice. We’re proud of our progress as we elevate from Bronze status, and we will continue to work hard to ensure people can bring their authentic selves to work each day. #PrideInDiversity #AustralianLGBTQInclusionAwards #AWEI #AWEI2024

Last month, Randstad shared their findings of their Workmonitor Pulse Survey which obtained the views of more than 2,000 LGBT+ employees globally. These were based around equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging initiatives and policies at work. Based on their findings, they recommended three ways in which employers can help improve LGBT+ inclusion in the workplace: · “Empower employee-driven groups and ensure that all initiatives are grounded in the real experience of employees” · “Instil a culture of respect and empathy that recognises and respects the diverse range of experiences LGBTQ+ workers, rather than perceiving them as “others” or defining them solely by their gender or sexual orientation” · “Promote ‘authentic allyship’ throughout the year, not only during Pride Month.” To see jobs with inclusive employers, please visit: lgbtjobs.co.uk

Symbotic is proud to share its first-time rating on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s assessment of LGBTQ+ workplace equality. We received a score of 95 out of 100 on the 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. “For well over two decades, businesses have played an important role in furthering LGBTQ+ equality by centering employee needs and voices when it comes to workplace inclusion,” said RaShawn “Shawnie” Hawkins, Human Rights Campaign Sr Director of Workplace Equality. “The CEI is an ever-evolving tool – a blueprint that companies can use to show up more effectively in supporting their LGBTQ+ employees and their families.” We know there is always more work to be done and we strive to not only meet all the standards outlined by the Human Rights Campaign – but pave the way for what full equality in the workplace should look like. #CEI2023

We’re proud to have earned a 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the foremost U.S. benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. The CEI rates companies on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars: ☑ Non-discrimination policies across business entities; ☑ Equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families; ☑ Supporting an inclusive culture; and, ☑ Corporate social responsibility. Diversity is an important part of our #OneNewell culture, and we know that building a safe and inclusive community starts within our walls. We support our LGBTQ+ employees year-round through comprehensive benefits, including gender-affirming care, inclusive workforce protections and educational programming from OPEN, our Employee Resource Group for LGBTQ+ employees and allies. We thank the Human Rights Campaign Foundation for recognizing our efforts with a top score on the CEI. #CEI2023 #Equality100

We’re named a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality”—again! For the fifth year in a row, we’re proud to share that we’ve received a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign's (HRC) 2023 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. While it’s important to celebrate our #CEI ranking, it’s just as important to recognize–and extend our gratitude to–our LGBTQ+ colleagues, whose many contributions to our practice and culture have been invaluable. “Our 10-year focused journey toward justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion has been a Perkins&Will community effort,” says Gabrielle Bullock,FAIA,NOMAC,IIDA,LEED AP, our Director of Global Diversity. “Achieving a perfect score of 100 on the HRC’s CEI for five consecutive years is a testament to our inclusive approach in creating an environment where everyone feels they belong.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/gcdSy6t8

LGBT+ History Month aims to increase the visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, raise awareness of their lived experiences, create safe spaces and champion LGBT+ people to achieve their full potential. For employers, it's an opportunity to reflect on how the workplace is experienced differently by all of our colleagues. It's also an opportunity for leaders to be reminded of the important role they play in creating psychological safety at work, so that LGBT+ colleagues are empowered to achieve their full potential. As with any awareness day or month, our responsibility to create an inclusive employee experience and an empowering, equitable environment is not just for 28 (or 29 this year) days. But if LGBT+ History Month encourages us to think about how we can create an inclusive workplace for all, that's a great thing in my book. Stonewall have some excellent tools, training and resources for employers which are well worth a look here: https://lnkd.in/eSG5PKrk #Inclusion #LGBTHistoryMonth #Equality #Diversity

🏳️🌈 To mark the end of #PrideMonth, The Equity Index reflects on the incredible work carried out by Stonewall in creating the Global and UK Workplace Equality Index (WEI). Read below 👇 Despite progress in the last few years and decades, LGTBQ+ people continue to face #discrimination at their workplace, limiting their opportunity for success: 🚫 One in five LGBTQ+ people were the target of negative comments at work 🚫 Over a third feel they need to hide who they are at work 🚫 One in five feel that being LGBTQ+ limits their job opportunities. To respond to the discriminations faced by LGBTQ+ people at work, the Workplace Equality Index provides employers with an overview of the lived experience of their staff and a benchmark to measure their progress on #inclusion in the workplace. Here’s how: ✔️ Anonymously surveys and summarises employees’ experiences and opinions ✔️ Evaluates employers on different areas of employment practice and policy ✔️ Compares organisations’ data to sector and regional averages ✔️ Provides in-depth feedback and voluntary initiatives. Over the years hundreds of organisations signed up and became Top 100 LGBTQ+ Employers, proving the Workplace Equality Index’s capacity to ensure organisations introduce policies and action plans protecting and supporting LGBTQ+ people. Today, it remains as relevant as ever, as it strives to include and consider new issues into its assessment criteria. As part of the 2022-2024 road it has placed more emphasis on non-binary and bi inclusion, disabled LGBTQ+ people, LGBTQ+ people of colour and included criteria around maintaining a focus on LGBTQ+ inclusion in dispersed workplaces. ➡ If you work at an organisation with over 200 employees based in the UK and you are seriously committed to achieving progress on LGBTQ+ #equality, become a Stonewall Diversity Champion by applying to the UK Workplace Equality Index.
