Earlier today, Cricket NSW staff joined Dr John Hunter for a guided walk and traditional smoking ceremony around the Murama Healing Space, located on Wangal Land near Cricket Central. Dr Hunter shared his story, that of his elders, and of plans to develop the local area into a healing space for all cultures. #NAIDOCWeek2024

Last Saturday marked the launch of Cricket NSW’s South Asian Engagement Strategy in conjunction with the inaugural Sydney Thunder Tape Ball League launch and cultural festival at Cricket Central - a key first step in our commitment to grow engagement within South Asian communities. Thanks to funding from the NSW Government, we’re set to: 🔹Boost participation and enhance the cricket experience for South Asian communities. 🔹Provide elite pathways for top South Asian players, coaches, umpires, and administrators. 🔹Increase engagement with W/BBL, Australian, and NSW teams among South Asian cricket fans. Cricket NSW staff celebrated National Reconciliation Week on May 28 participating in a hugely informative cultural learning session hosted by Cricket Australia and delivered by Rob Hyatt from the Koori Heritage Trust 📖 Cricket NSW is continuing its ongoing commitment to Reconciliation and currently finalising the second CNSW Innovate RAP due to be submitted to Reconciliation Australia in June 2024.
