After several trips to the DR staying in resorts, I was ready for a new experience. This one proved to be ideal - a fully operational apartment with kitchen, where I could cook and get to know the neighborhood and its people.

It was a very good experience - the apartments are clean and spacious. My wife and I stayed in a one-bedroom, which was sparsely but effectively furnished. The kitchen is basically equipped - one coffee pot, a frying pan and a large pot, which was enough to make simple dishes. There was also a toaster oven next to the small stove.

There is good wi-fi,, and there is access to a washing machine. The supermarket is not far (about a ten-minute walk), and the beach is just around the corner. The staff is corteous and helpful, and were ready to help me with any difficulties.

There could be minor improvements - the TV is small and has few available channels (all in Spanish), but then again I wasn't too interested in watching anything, and there could also be a few more utensils in the kitchen. Apart from that, it was an overall positive experience, which prompted us for a second visit recently, when we stayed a whole week.

Plenty of restaurants nearby (Pedro's being the best for dinner in my opinion) and also various choices of beach bars. The people are friendly, and we were able to make many personal connections. You won't miss those resorts, rest assured

We had a lot of confusion with our plans and the staff was very helpful. Timo the manager accommodated us and helped with the changes we needed to make in the most economical way. Nice distance from the beach!

I stayed here with my girlfriend for 2 nights in January 2016. Great staff. Very secure. Close to town but just far enough away to be quiet. The complaints from others are silly. I asked a staff member for toilet paper and he literally walked to a storage closet and gave me more. We were only going to stay for 1 night but enjoyed our stay enough to spend a second night. It is a little difficult to find (GPS in DR is not the best) but we were greeted immediately by security staff and the manager that was friendly and offered advice on where to go, etc. He also spoke English and Spanish. The next time we vacation in Puerto Plata we will definitely stay here again and for another night or two. Seriously and considering buying retirement property in the area as well. We loved the north coast!
