Property's Favourite Review
While I understand that it is unusual to write before you go on vacation, I took time to go thru all the reviews. They are a mixed bunch but mostly positive. We are a family of 6 coming on Dec. 24th for a week and got a 2-Bed Room suite. I was told at the time of booking that everything is included (i.e. beaches and restaurants).

I plan to write an un-biased review after my vacation. So, please stay tuned. Looking forward to a great week with family and the hospitality of Presidential Suites by Lifestyle.

I had seen some negative reviews on rooms and the resort, but we were well satisified. We booked the Tropical through RCI and were in the Tropical building #5. These were updated, modern Euro-style generous sized rooms with studio couch, king size bed, large walk-in shower in glass enclosure along with separate toilet in separate frosted glass enclosure. There was a veranda with chairs. There were pools nearby. The beach was a short walk past the pool areas with cabanas and chase lounges. There were shaded areas for people like me who cannot take much sun. The beach itself was a narrow strip of sand but the water was warm and good for swimming. Was only a little rough one day. The Casablanca buffet was good for breakfast and lunches. Only place open on Sundays, so was a bit crowded at times. Best places for dinner were The Blue Lagoon (near the beach, has great seafood with views over the water). The Brazilian steakhouse had great flavorful meats. These are open to everyone under the all-inclusive plan. Restaurants excluvisely for VIP members include the excellent Gourmet, Jazz (only fair), and Tappas (also excellent). Yes, there will be a heavy sales pitch for the VIP vacation plan.
If you have physical disabilities, you will have some problems getting around. There are stairs everywhere! For some, this may be the biggest problem of the resort.
We took a couple excursions. The Blue Island boat excursion was excellent with a swim stop before the "island" (really a large sandbar) and a 2 hour stop on the island to swim and snorkel. There were all kinds of colorful fish and coral!
The ride back passed through a mangrove and then back for an outstanding lunch!
We also took an excursion tour into the city of Puero Plata. This is a bustling city of 200,000. Motorbikes everywhere. Glad I did not drive! We toured a rum distillery, jewelery maker, large store, the center historic square, and the best part was the cable car ride to the top of the mountain to the national park. I did not notice any restaurants or entertainment area, but this may be along Ocean Boulivard.
We enjoyed the resort overall. We went in last week of January. The weather was good, only a few brief showers. Most days were sunny, warm and humid with temps in the low 80's during the day and dropping to the 70's at night.

We were 2 couples living for 2 weeks in a fabulous suite (2 bathrooms, 2 hot tubs, 4 free bottles of liquor weekly,etc.). Our patio was less than 40 meters from 2 restaurants, a bar (all drinks free) and the pool. We were "all-inclusive" at USD 75 per person per day and USD 700 weekly for the suite. Well worth it. The entire 150-acre resort was open to us and we spent long days lying on beach mattresses or at the pool, in between massages or tennis lessons. We have already reserved for next year.

I cannot say enough about the wonderful stay that we had at the Presidential Suites. My husband and I went to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary along with my niece and her husband who were celebrating their 6th. From the moment we arrived at the resort until our departure a week later, we were treated as "family" and yes it was our second "home". The food was awesome and I did like that the hostess gave all patrons a squirt of hand sanitizer when entering the buffet. We have been members of LHVC for 4 years and we do not regret buying in. This was our third trip to the Dominican Republic via LHVC and each experience has been wonderful. A beautiful country, beautiful resort and beautiful staff. We will see you next year!!

As Members, we expected more. This was our 4th time visiting LHVC, and we wish we could give a better report on how things went.

We knew, in advance, the importance of having the Gold bracelets, therefore, everyone in our party (8 adults) got them included and/or paid the additional fee to upgrade. The Gold bracelets, historically, have allowed access to the best restaurants and beaches that the resort has to offer, and generally garner some level of respectful treatment from staff.

Our group was a fun loving, laid back group of 40 somethings. As our group's host, I had hoped that the resort would provide the relaxation and luxurious break from "the real world" that we all were seeking. Unfortunately, this was not the case.

Case in Point: One night after a nice dinner, we began casually walking through the resort, wondering whether to head to bed, or find some evening entertainment. As we walked, we came upon some music and dancing, at an outdoor area, that looked really fun. There was no sign, and no security or hostess at the entry path, so we decided to walk in and look for a table where we could hang out for a bit. Some of our group loves dancing, and headed straight for the dance floor. My wife and I, while scanning the area for a table, got approached by a security guard who asked me to follow him! I thought I must have misunderstood him, so I said "Excuse me?" He pointed to my Gold wristband and said that the party was only for "Chairman Club Members", and that we would need to leave. I'm not one to make a scene, so my wife and I did as we were asked, feeling like we had just been tossed out like a pile of horse sh*t. I don't remember a time when I have felt so publicly humiliated! It is beyond infuriating that, due to them failing to inform us at the entry gate, they allowed us to enter, trapping us, in a sense, before escorting us out like criminals.

Making dinner reservations at the a la carte restaurants used to be simple, for gold band members. Now, they make you check in twice each day before telling you where or even WHEN you get to have dinner! The last thing we wanted to do was worry about checking in twice a day while trying to relax on the beach, enjoying our day, all the while, not even knowing what time we would need to be back for dinner!

The management of this property is completely out of touch. Fortunately, some of the staff were good people and good at their jobs. Unfortunately, they were the rare exceptions.

Stay away from the entire Lifestyles Resort System! We travel a lot with Interval,RCI and Diamond as well as Club Melia and have stayed in many resorts and we were really excited to find this place available in our travel window.

The accommodations were absolutely beautiful and we thought this is a great find and we can’t wait to start our vacation. We unpacked and headed out to get lunch and everything went down hill quickly. The only food available was hamburgers and hotdogs. We were fine with that but they were way old and sitting in some kind of liquid and then tossed on the grill. Two of our 6 became ill for the rest of the day stayed in room vomiting.

For the rest of our stay we found food to be close to inedible and people were constantly at front desk getting info on restaurants outside of the resort because they couldn’t continue to eat the food. We did however get an okay meal at the Italian and Mexican restaurants.

Our biggest and most aggravating complaint is that everything we asked for the answer was always the same “oh no” it was a joke by the end of the week. Our requests we not out of the ordinary “can I get a mimosa at breakfast please” answer “oh no” can I get a Mojito again “oh no” can I get a margarita “oh no” can we get the cushions for our pool chairs “oh no it might rain” can I get a vodka martini “oh no” can I get a Bloody Mary “oh no”. Not once did any of the servers smile and most of the time rolled their eyes and scowled when ask anything. We were VIP so I hate to think what anyone that wasn’t had to deal with.

It is the noisiest resort we have ever been. Soooo many shuttles, delivery vans, mopeds, golf carts, motor cycles and employee cars speeding about and blowing horns. At night from our room you would have thought we were in NYC.

I guess the most aggravating part was when we tried to express our concerns no one could understand English or say “oh no l am sorry”

These people put on a great show of how well they treat you and in no way even attempt to make your vacation enjoyable. They promised shows every night and canceled them at the last minute or moved them to another location and didn’t tell any guests of the change until you got to the door where it was advertised and then they told you it was moved to the other side of the resort so then you had to catch the shuttle again or walk a mile to get there.

I have never written a review on a resort before but I am actually writing this one from my chair by the pool in the middle of my vacation. So I guess you could say it is incomplete but it couldn’t wait. Even if I save one person from this horrible place it was worth the time spent.

Good luck and trust me when I say keep looking pretty much anywhere would be better than this. Believe me I would leave if Interval had anything available.

VIP is a bit of a misnomer in that there were lots of amenities that we did not have access to, watch as top-shelf liquor (we couldn't even pay for it). It's a huge property and we stayed on the quiet side which means we had take a shuttle to the hype side. That was perfect for us because we like to turn up by choice! The shuttles ran regularly, we never waited more than 10 min at any point from any location. ALL the staff was helpful and friendly. The food was ok. I would go back. Their cleaning routines were very reassuring; every night they cleaned the cabanas and pools. Staff wore masks all day and night.

Great roomy 2BR suite. Fridge filled with and maintained with an ample amount of beverages including bottled water, Presidente Beer and sodas. Bedrooms had additional glass front coolers maintained with beverages. 3 Jacuzzi tubs, large and medium size balcony 3 coffee makers, ample room to lounge and that is just inside of the suite. Outside of the suite there is an array of dining options, nightly entertainment shows, several beaches with mini cabanas and personal relaxing spots, plus much more.
The staff was friendly and helpful in this sprawling resort atmosphere. Cathy, our appointed go-to person was a living charm, always eager to assist. I gave them 4 out of 5 stars, but maybe i should have given them 5 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed my stay.

The Presidential Suites at Cofresi Beach and the hotel properties are beautiful and very clean. Our mini vacation was a very pleasant one and what made it even more special was the service we received. My husband and I traveled with our six year old Autistic child. For those who have a child on the spectrum, you can understand some of the challenges we face overall. Our original room was on the third floor and Daniel at the Front Desk Reception made it his mission to accomodate us when I mentioned to him that we could not be on the third floor due to my son having an impaired sense of danger. Although the hotel was super full, Daniel moved us to a lower floor. At Casablanca the Main buffet at Tropical Lifestyle, Capitan Felix and Chef Reyes were able to accomodate my son's meals. My son loves cream of wheat and they were able to prepare it for him although they only served oatmeal. My son loves breaded chicken and they were able to cook it for him. The entire wait staff at Casablanca starting from Jenny( the pregnant young lady) and all of the servers were phenomenal and very understanding. In addition to, they are following all of the COVID 19 guidelines and ensuring that everyone is safe, even opening additional restaurants for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner to ensure that restaurant are not over capacity . Also, you must try the Brazilian Restaurant which is very good along with the Seafood Restaurant. At the Seafood restaurant, they make the best "Moro De Habichuelas Negras"
Rice with Black beans. Kudos to the great job they are doing at this resort. We were truly impressed with the service and attention we received.

I truly believe that if anyone is going to stay at this Resort I hope you read this review before booking and book at the other Resort Tropical which is much nicer, cleaner, and better service.

To start off it was my birthday weekend and the first room we checked-in too the bed mattress felt like a kid mattress and I could feel the springs on my back. After the 1st night in that room we complained and we were moved to the same room just 3 floor ups. This room the tube was clogged and the sink too. We complained with guest service and front desk and they did nothing about it for 2 days by the second day we ran out of beer and water and we called to get the fridge refreshed and we never got any water or beer for the remaining of our stay which was 4 days later. the service sucks and the beach is not in that resorts its at the other resort which you have to take a shuttle to get to since its a long walk in the heat and up/down hills streets. the pool looked green and dirty and the restaurant at this resort really suck. They had not flavor and taste nasty. The bar only had 4 options of alcohol and it tasted like crap. Our stay was horrible and the Resort took us on a tour to upgrade our wrist band which turned out to be a lie since we didn't buy one of their timeshares and don't fall for the 1 hour tour cuz it was 4 hrs. of nothing and prices were crazy expensive. The COVID-19 test to return was done at the other resort Tropical which was a lot nicer and cleaner. We had to wait almost an hour to get the test done to then get the results back at our hotel after they tell you to wait for the results there which we wasted another 45 mins for nothing. The people working there accept you to tip them every time you ask or want something if not they don't service you or they just walk away and forget you ever asked them.

Beach is clean and you can definitely swim in the ocean. Waves were a little large while we were there but we were told it was because of a weather system off the coast. I suggest you bring inflatable rafts/donuts with you. You can purchase them in the gift shop but they are quite pricey.

Certainly! Luxurious suites, lots of pools, very nice beaches with lounges. It is a big resort, lots of great restaurants. Some entertainment at times. There are some tours into town and a boat trip to a sand bar where you can snorkel. Take the gondola up the mountain to the arboretum. There is also a series of waterfalls on the mountain to slide down. Go in the winter months unless you like it really steamy. Enjoy!
