The staff are very helpful and friendly , the resort is very clean and well maintained. The beach is also very nice and clean, but you get bugged every 15mins by the women offering pedicures and manicures , won’t take no for an answer at first, after 5mins you have to tell them to go away you don’t want one, 15mins later there will be another one pressing you to have a pedicure/pedicure . The food in the buffet is a hit and miss , only 1 toaster so there was always a line up in the mornings , they run out of white bread have to wait for it to be replaced, same for bacon. The Mexican and Italian restaurants the food is amazing as with the rest of the resort staff very friendly. Apart from the late housekeeping,no hot water and drinking water not replaced ,minor issues, I would recommend these place and will return.
Pros;
Good food, not great but good. Oregano is not particularly good but the Mexican food restaurant was by far the best, The deserts on every restaurants is just a small pastries...so don't expect anything.
The room was clean,
Some employees were friendly some werent I gave tips to some, and i choose the more worthy very carefully
The CONs..
The pool is small and not clean, lots of sands at the bottom. The chairs are rare, you have to get up early to secure one before someone secures just about every chair around the pool
The buffet was good but repetitive, the area is clean
The advertising says that there is a pool upstair but that pool, like the Aroma restaurant is for VIP only. I believe you have to purchase some special vacation plans to have acces to that pool and restaurants.
The old Milwaukee bar and the win bar are not inclusive, you need to pay for your drinks and the wine insn't cheap.
the drinks are very ordinary, nothing fancy there.
During my stay the pool was terrible, big waves and dirts all over the place. thE whole week except one day it was not allow to swim in the water.
The restaurant near the beach was clean, like the restroom but the food was basically the same as the buffet stuff.
The room was all right but the regular one had no furniture, not a single chair..and you have to chase the maid to get an extra roll of toilet paper or shampoo. That was a painfull thing to do every day. Same for the mini bar you need to beg to get it replenished...i suggest you call the front desk, Don't ask the maid..most of the staff of this place don't quite understand English.
During the Week-end this place gets invaded by Dominicans locals. Its very annoying
The sellers on the beach are everywhere. They won't harass you but will be around you all the time.
Overall a decent place but be aware that it is not all free or inclusive. It would be all right to recommend this place..but i surely won't go back there.
I did not particularly like that while we were sitting at the beach, the independent mobile vendors (i.e. trinket sellers, masseuses, fresh coconuts sellers, hair braiders, etc.) would come up to us peddling their products or services every few minutes. But I understand they are just trying to make an honest living. They are very aggressive though.
I loved their food waste controls. Kudos to this hotel's management for limiting the amount of food at the buffet, thereby cutting costs and throwing out less food at the same time. I would love to see this hotel do something like the Las Vegas casino hotels do with their food waste feeding it to livestock farmers, and thus decreasing food waste even more. Keep up the great work.
P.S. Roberto and Jose, the waiters, always did an amazing job. I saw those guys work hard and provide outstanding service to me and my family, as well as to other guests.
Resort!!
If you want hot/warm water or water pressure for a shower don't go. Want a lounger by the pool or beach don't go, 58 loungers were available near the pools and people put towels on them to reserve them VERY early. Yes only 58! Want to eat anywhere other than the Buffet and want to make reservations - don't go!
Good, resort clean and most of the staff very friendly!
Rating 3.5 would be the max for this resort
We thought the food was good compared to other resorts we’ve stayed at. We went to all three a la carts and as Elite/VIP we also went to Aroma a couple nights. The beach buffet was our least favorite but it was convenient. The coffee shop is a nice amenity. There are plenty of places to find a drink. Roberto the bartender at Opus (VIP) is the best!
We were on vacation so we didn’t spend much time in our room but the only reason I can’t give a full five stars was our unit. We had a one bedroom in building 16 which doesn’t seem to have been renovated as I understand much of the resort has been. For the amount of timeshare points we spent the unit was disappointing compared to others we’ve stayed in for much fewer points. It was clean and spacious enough with a nice balcony. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and the room was quiet so we slept very well. But there were very few drawers so we just lived out of our suitcases. The only mirror was in the too small bathroom - a pain when your both trying to get ready to go out! And the bathroom flooded every time you took a shower. There was nothing in the kitchen except a couple coffee mugs. No utensils or glasses. We had to open the coffee packets with my husband’s razor. The unit reminded me of a Super 8 studio room honestly.
But still, I would very much recommend the resort!
the resort is Super clean, rooms, grounds, restaurants, to enter the buffet you have to wear disposable gloves , hand sanitizers every where, we felt so safe as everyone was so respectful to the COVID rules.
the staff are so nice, so polite and so willing to help you, always smiling and very respectful, beach is so nice and the area is so beautiful, we stayed in adult only with our own pool well worth to pay extra $70.Entertainment team : Carlos is the coolest of all, Bruno is so kind and friendly we love them and miss them already. if you like small resorts this is a great place, so cozy and everything close by. the only thing that might not be too well is the food variety and only three inclusive restaurants .But the Chrismas eve dinner was awesome. my daughter and I enjoyed our week there a lot. Viva DR, Viva PP , Viva Emocions y todos los chicos ,ustedes son los mejores, Gracias
All of the resturant were open, the buffet does have a smaller selection but it wasn’t as bad as people said. The snack bar usually had fresh food with different options. There actually is a disco, they just need to do better at advertising where it is as a lot of people could not find it. The wifi was hit or miss in certain areas but worked for the most part. I did hear however that some people had to swap rooms a couple of times due to mold, and other issues but our rooms were fine. The beach was absolutely beautiful.
As for the staff they were amazing! All so kind and friendly! The animación was very talented and entertaining. They all knew english well, José (5 star) also spoke French and Italian which I found very inclusive. José (5 star), Michel and Carlos go above and beyond to make sure the guests on the resort are enjoying themselves. Whether it was water aerobics, dance lessons, volleyball and participating in the shows they never failed to amaze us. Thank you to José (5 star), Michel, Carlos and the rest of the animación team.
The waiters and bartenders were also amazing. Thank you to Pedro, Henderson, Digones, Adriel, Brian, and Ricardo. Also a big shoutout to Junior that made us omelettes everyday. Kelvin and Masases at the front desk were amazing as well.
The cleaning and maintenance staff were also great at doing their jobs and ensuring you had a safe stay. Yudi the cleaning lady in building 13 did an excellent job daily. Piero Yaniel would
make sure our mini bar was stocked and would ask us what we preferred or needed. If we were short on anything and we saw him in the building he would get us what we needed right away.
In all, my friends and I would love to return to Emotions. We were glad we did not cancel our vacation and we can’t wait to go back!!
