Prompt pick-up from hotel. (Note: If you're in Puerto Plata it's about a 2-hour drive to the destination and they do pack the 26 passenger van.)
First stop was a small family fruit farm. The family was nice and they walked us around the property and shared the fruit from the trees. This was also an opportunity to buy local coco.
The next two stops were beaches, with about 60-90 minutes each, and lunch at the second location. The food was good and other travels friendly.
The last stop was a lagoon that had zipline into the water. It's not for everyone because it can be a "scary" drop, but it is fun if you go. (Note: There is a small $2 charge for the required life vest. Also a small charge for lockers are available.) It was extremely easy to book. All aspects of the excursion were clear. I was hesitant to request a refund but I did the day before we were scheduled to do the excursion. The company was very understanding and offered a partial refund when they didn't have to. - Reck C1 contributionWell worth the money! Less than 1/2 the price of the cruise excursion! We got VERY muddy, but we were prepared for that. It's a combination of cow manure, run off and rain so if you are timid about this, this is not for you. The beach stop allowed us to rinse off halfway through and we had a delicious handmade pina colada in a pineapple - $10 worth every penny! We snapped an axel towards the end and the team there didn't seem to sweat it. They put us on our own 4 wheeler to head back! Great time - bring goggles and face mask! This was the highlight of an otherwise crappy cruise provided by NCL. Only didn't rate excellent as our instructions could have been a little clearer. I was familiar with driving something like this so it wasn't a big deal for me. The hike was tiring and not for everyone but the natural slides and water was worth every step! This was one of the best excursions I’ve been on and the memories made as a family are priceless! - Sierra N3 contributions25F & 26M - This was the best excursion we have been on in the Carribean. Communication was proactive & clear on where to meet. Ended up with a private driver Jhon since no other passengers booked for our day - He was 11/10. Took us to all specified excursions & more. Provided a safe place for us to keep our belongings during Damajagua hike / waterfall slides. Wasted no time whisking us away to a local Cacao / Coffee roastery on our way to buggies. Stopped for bottled water + freshly cut coconuts (complimentary). Buggy tour was longer than expected, and very fun! They have some serious horsepower. Ended with lunch at a local Puerto Plata roadside restaurant - we were the only tourists on site. Food was amazing & authentic West Indies. Cannot recommend this enough. - Ian O1 contributionEdwin was a great driver and told us a lot of awesome information about the city and its history. He gave us plenty of freedom to look around each tourist spot, and took amazing photos for us. He even offered to be our taxi back to the airport when we leave! - melanie bNew Orleans, LA74 contributionsBooked this excursion outside of the cruise line. Directions very clear on where and when to meet. Guides were organized and on time. We had 3 kids ages 7,13, and 14 with only 2 adult so the staff was able to take our third child in the buggy with them. We were very grateful for this! The tour was a total of 2 hours on the buggy. We had a stop at a small gift shop and tried some Dominican coffee, chocolate, and mamajuana. We then headed to a small beach area. The tour was very fun and muddy!
