We found the restaurants very consistent and enjoyed the Italian and Mexican the most. The buffet was well stocked and the beach restaurant and buffet provided an outdoor or air conditioned option at lunch. The bars at the beach and by the pool were great and all serving staff were very friendly and welcoming.
All in all a great week with fantastic weather!
The entertainment was also bland, they should of had much better music and choreography, however, the staff really worked hard and tried their best to entertain whenever they had to. The staff/entertainers were all friendly.
The resort is very clean including the public bathrooms.
All staff were attentive and provided good service.
Just some observations; for the duration of my stay and for the time I stayed there, I noticed that the resort had a lot of 55+ year old. Not too many 30-40 year old's.
On the positive: the weather was hot, the beach was nice, the vendors on the beach, while persistent, were very friendly, the bartenders on the beach were warm and welcoming.
In summary, I would not recommend you stay away from this resort, just be prepared - you get what you pay for.

Despite Air Canada losing our luggage, and our initial room at check in having a faulty balcony door (did not close) and safe; the following day the front desk staff upgraded us to a better room on a top floor.
Overall experience here at Viva Wyndham V Heavens was amazing. Small adult only resort, great maintained pool, all workers had smiles and would accomodate you the best they could. We spent a majority of our time at the beautiful white sand beach, then spent the late afternoon at the cozy rooftop pool to soak in the sun.
Food was surprisingly great (I normally travel to Cuba). There was no reservations required at the Al La Carte's, we enjoyed all the steak, chicken, and even fish dishes (i'm not a typical fish eater). It was a nice surprise to have waffles every morning at the breakfast buffet, along with fresh fruit and coffee.
Entertainment staff was great! Now wherever I travel I bring my DJ gear down to connect with the local animation team and give them a nice break at certain programming times. They took me in as one of their own, and I dj'ed the Foam Party and the Nightclub (was 1st night reopening party - due to COVID).
Overall we would come back again and again, if you want that quite couple, small resort style getaway, this is the perfect place. We met so many new friends from across the globe on this trip and are thankful for it!

We had the amnesia suite, room was spacious as advertised, cleaning was good except we came back to the room one time at 4 and the room wasn’t done we opted to not have it cleaned and just asked for toilet paper and towels. Water goes from desired temperature to cold then boiling hot, need to be very careful not to burn yourself.
My big disappointment was the food, having been to other adult only resorts I expected more, fish overcooked, bad tomato sauce for pasta, the best was the Mexican but even that wasn’t great. The buffet is very limited in choices.
Beach is very nice, walk to the beach is beautiful, 4-5 minutes tops, not any further than you would have to walk if you were in a bigger resort.
We will not go back because of the sub par foor, I would give the food a 2 out of 5, but the resort itself and staff deserve 5 stars.
1) Movie theater. If you head out the front door of the resort and turn left you will see a mall about a block away. Although there are no signs outside of the mall indicating that there is a movie theater, there is a very good three screen theater on the second floor. It is a challenge to find if you go up the center stairs leading in to the mall, but if you make a couple of right hand turns you will find it. Most movies are in Spanish, but some are in English with Spanish subtitles. Look at the list of movies and they indicate which ones use subtitles. We saw Star Wars and Knives out. Both were around 9.00pm, but when we return we will check out movie times early. The prices are only $3 american per person and you get a very large bag of delicious popcorn for less than $2.
2)Get in line early if you want to go the Mexican or Italian Restaurants. All a la cartes are very good, however these are the two most popular.
3)Get American dollars before you go. No need to transfer to Dominican pesos and pay very high exchange fees, especially if you are from anywhere outside of the US. The american dollar is just as acceptable everywhere as the peso.
Recommendation.
1)Our only suggestion for improvement is to have softer beds. The mattress was quite hard.
Loved this small, but charming resort and would recommend it to anyone.
I also want to mention, Andy who is the Sunwing and Nexus Tours rep. While not an employee of Wyndham V Heavens, his help and direction is an asset to the resort.
The resort is beautifully maintained. Constant cleaning of the public areas, washrooms and walkways, makes one comfortable during these trying times. The gardens through out are very pleasing, adding to our experince. Upgrades were also being done, as we saw painting and a few repair projects on the go.
As we both use walkers, the walkway to the beach was easy and very enjoyable with the lagoon alongside. We sat and watched the turtles and various ducks that call the lagoon home. The resort is very handicap friendly, for our purposes. We appreciated the beachside deck, where we could sit and enjoy a couple of Pina Coladas.
The entertainment team, added a lot of energy throughout the resort, and included everyone in their banter, without making any one feel pressured or awkward. Thanks to Joel, and the many bar staff, poolside and beachside that served us our black coffe and various adult beverages.
We stayed in an "Amnesia" suite, main floor, in building 3. The room was very clean, well maintained, and we enjoyed having the extra space and the balcony. Mattress was good and comfortable, but bed wasn't stable and could use a heavier base. White linens sparkled, and the bath towels were large, which is very unusual these days. Faceclothes were not provided, but 2 robes, 2 pool towels were. A large palm seperated us from the service area. Noise wasn't excessive, mostly laundry skiffs being rolled to the laundry in the late afternoon. We had problems with the safe the 1st two days, but 2 immediate responses fixed the problem.
Food was plentiful, lots of choices, but lacking in a few areas. The was no bacon at breakfast and the meats provided weren't appealing. The made to order omelettes were wonderful. At lunch and dinner, the meats provided in the made to order area, tended to be over cooked and dry. There were lots of vegetables, fruits and several choices of fresh bread rolls each meal. A selection of interesting cakes and pastries and ice cream rounded off each meal. We visited the Italian, Fusion and Mexican a-la-carte, where we had some interesting dishes, some we liked better than others but that is an indivdual taste. I found the presentation in the Mexican very interesting. The servers were very helpful, very friendly, and seemed willing to please.
We are planning another visit to V Heavens, hopefully in the near future.
