Hotel located at walking distance from Sagrada Familia. Close to underground subway.
The room was in the basement, with view to an interior garden.
Breakfast was from 7 to 10 am. Very complete selection of fruit, eggs, pan , cheese, etc.
Service at the reception and restaurant was extremely helpful and accommodating

Hotel Glories is a hotel that may have had some glorious past which has probably not kept its pace with time and is now slightly lagging back. The room decor is a bit tired, the doors and tables chipping off. But the bed was comfortable and so was the overall stay. The usp of this hotel is that it is very close to Sagrada Familia the most important iconic structure of Barcelona. The breakfast is nice, while the presentation of the breakfast is moderate the variety and quality of the breakfast are good. The breakfast staff are courteous and the hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. The hotel lobby should have some more information or informative leaflets of the surrounding sightseeing options.

I spent a week at the hotel. The staff were welcoming and friendly- The room was clean
The hotel is located in a very safe and calm neighborhood. Many metro & tramway stations around- The city has so many attractions, so my friends and I used to leave the hotel in the morning and come back late in the evening. But I´m glad to say that I had a positive experience at the hotel.

We were in Barcelona for five days in mid-March, the hotel was not very easy to find as on map of the city was situated on the main street and in fact it was on a side street but with the help of the phone app TripAdvisor we managed to reach the destination (this application is very useful for those who choose to not take a taxi and instead use the public transport which is formidable, their infrastructure is even better than the Germans). Here I recommend for those who want to visit Barcelona to buy public transport card ticket for 2/3/4/5 days which includes metro / bus / tram/railway.The 5 days card cost 30.50euro/pers but if you buy online cost 27.50 euro and worth all the money!
As for the hotel is very good for those who come to visit Barcelona and not staying to much in the hotel. The hotel is very practical, do not expect luxury.

Plus: 1. Location, the hotel is located near the Sagrada Familia, about 7 min walk. The metro is close.
2. The hotel staff are very friendly. Locals are also equally nice, we had situations where we look at the map to see what we can visit and some locals offered to help us, thought that we have lost ourselves.

Minus: 1. Hotel furniture is a bit outdated and also the blankets.

In conclusion deserves to come to the hotel Glories - price / quality is very good.

The hotel is situated very near to the la Familia Sagrada and very near to a metro station, so Access to the rest of Barcelona was very easy. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the free wifi is excellent - available in the main lobby area and in the rooms. The rooms are spacious and the shower was fab! Considering what we paid for this hotel we were very pleasantly surprised with breakfast which was a buffet and included a large range of cereals; fruit, yoghurts, cold meats and cheese, breads, cakes and bacon, egg and sausage. There was a range of fruit juices, good quality coffe from a machine, tea and a toaster available. The staff were very accommodating and happy to move tables around to accommodate groups wanting to sit together. All in all very good value for money. We would definitely stay here again

I' m sorry about the experience of the April 2006 reviewer but we have just returned from the Hotel Glories and enjoyed our stay. The staff were all friendly but their English was a bit sketchy so it helped that I speak Spanish. Perhaps poor English on both sides was the cause of the problems for the previous reviewer. Our room was not huge but was pleasant and very quiet considering we were facing the street, (Barcelona can be very noisy). The air conditioning worked well and the breakfast choice was excellent. One morning we wanted to leave early before breakfast started so we asked if we could have room service. This was not available, but they offered to prepare "picnics" which we could collect from reception at 6am. When we checked out of the hotel we noticed that the "picnics" were not on the bill. We queried this and were told that there was no charge as we had not taken breakfast on that day. Quite fair really, but not the norm in many hotels. Approach via Monumental metro station. It's closer. Enjoy your stay.

The Hotel is friendly and clean, but the rooms are too small, and the air-conditioner doesn't work well. The windows are sometimes broken, and most of them are to the back street or to a interior space. The staff is nice but their english is not so good. I think, I will never return to this Hotel, is three stars, but maintence is important.

We have just come back from a 4 day stay at the Glories Hotel in Barcelona! The staff at this Hotel are very welcoming and extremely helpful!!! Myself, my wife and our 9 year old son loved staying here as yes, although it seems a basic hotel, decor wise but at a reasonable price, it is also very charming and felt very homely in the time we spent there!!! It is also perfectly situated for a short walk to the Sagrada de Familia (which is a truly staggering piece of architecture and a must see!!!) and also many shops and restaurants along the way!!! You can easily walk to the Metro stations near to the hotel (5 in total i believe!) and catch the Hop on/off bus tours from the Sagrada de Familia square!!! Ps please try the ice creams from the stall behind the Sagrada de Familia, they are awesome!!! Anyway back to the hotel... The staff are very friendly and always chatted to us each day and were very helpful in terms of maps and where the best places to go in Barcelona for the things you want/need to see!!! Nothing was too much trouble!!! Zoran is very helpful and friendly and speaks very good English, although he is a Liverpool supporter, (which was surprising given the closeness to FC Barcelona) which we didn’t hold against him!!! Lol!!! A visit to the Nou Camp to see Barca play was truly amazing and is a few short stops away from this hotel via the Metro which is easy to navigate your way around and a 10 trip pass at €10.20 (which can be used by your whole party) made it really quite cheap to get around!!! It is safe to say we now love Barcelona as a city and would visit it again, especially for the football but also for its amazing size and beauty!!! We really didn’t know it was this large (3 million residents), this amazing and this beautiful with so much to see and do!!! We did the hop on/off bud tour for 2 days which was the best way to see the city in our opinion!!! The Olympic village/stadium is a must see as is the cable car ride you can take up the mountain from nearby the stadium!!! Stunning views!!! WHEN we visit Barcelona again we will definitely be looking to stay at the Glories Hotel and would thoroughly recommend to anyone else planning a trip to Barcelona to stay here too!!! Thank you Zoran and everyone at the Glories Hotel got our stay and making us feel so welcome!!! You make the Hotel the great place it is to stay!!! Hopefully we will see you again soon!!!

We stayed here for 2 nights before boarding a cruise. The hotel was booked by the travel agent. It's not near the centre which we liked. 10 minute walk to catch the city tour bus which took us everywhere we wanted to go. The staff were helpful & friendly & their English was way better than my Spanish. Breakfast was good with a great variety on offer. The room was smallish but had everything we needed including a mini bar & Good, hot shower.
