Top quality basque restaurant cooking in the traditional style taking care of the highest quality of the ingredient as the power of the dish. Starters such as potato with morel and foie, mille-feuilles of crab and cod are eatable jewels. Further, powerful classic dishes such as the bean-based stews or the roasted lamb are cooked to perfection. Wine selection is good, with hidden Spanish jewels included for those good connoiseurs. Service is ruled by professional maitres. A place for celebrations.

The restaurant is located in an anonymous street, but it is very welcoming, the service is excellent you can eat excellent food, meat, fish, as a Spanish tradition and drink excellent wine ... it is at the top. Frequented by Barca football players. You can't go to Barcelona and not go to eat at Gorria restaurant!! Strongly recommended..

My favourite restaurant in Barcelona. It is a market cuisine. Excellent wine selection. Recommended starters: pochas de tolosa, cogollos de tudela con ventresca. If you like angulas , this is the place! Recommended mains: chuleton, all fish is good.

Open for 48 years in Barcelona, Gorria is a truly exceptional traditional Spanish restaurant. The food is excellent, and the ambiance very pleasant. The kitchen runs in an efficient manner, and each dish is professionally plated. Gorria opens at 9:00 PM, and reservations are highly recommended. We enjoyed: Complimentary warm crusty bread rolls - yum! Lobster soup - a large hearty bowl Leek in baked pastry - yummy Grilled turbot - DELICIOUS!! Sirloin steak - fillet mignon tendernesses, perfectly grilled, very flavorful and delicious Scalloped potatoes served with entrees - delicious Chocolate ganache layer cake - rich and yummy Start-to-finish this was our VERY BEST DINNER during our visit to Barcelona. Gorria Restaurant is MUST TRY DELICIOUS for an exception dinner in Barcelona!

Unassuming from the outside, amazing experience inside. The service, food, wine were fantastic. We were a reasonably large group and were sat together on a table which was set to be able talk to the whole group. We had various ‘sharing’ starters which were the best quality. Individual mains were excellent as were the sharing desserts. Cava and wine didn’t disappoint either. The staff were attentive throughout.

Yes, there is simply nothing better. If your idea of a good time is a white tablecloth with a fat juicy steak on top, then you’re home.

We entered the restaurant based on the reviews of other travelers. Without judging personal experience I can say that for us this was an overpriced nightmare. Restaurant looks really traditional and gets you in the right mood for eating. However this ends with the waiters starting to collide one another. Not one of them spoke English and the order were a total mess. At the moment that they saw that we were not Spanish then half of the menu was suddenly not available. The only available and suggested stuff was the most pricey food one can imagine. Food was not something to remember nothing special. It took them forever to bring the food and the way it was served on the table clearly meant "eat this and get out ... now". Well that's what we did and will never be back again.

Very good and fresh fish and seafood, absolutely delicious. In particular, the bacalao a la vizcaína was fantastic. Nice and traditional atmosphere. As a dessert, they have a very special and tasty basque ice cream you should try. On the whole, I strongly recommend this restaurant!

This restaurant came from a local guy that works for a test kitchen in Barcelona so I had to take it seriously even though I had doubts after reviewing the menu. Stepping into Gorria’s dinning room is like stepping back in time. This restaurant opened in 1977 and it feels like nothing has changed. Waiters wear full suits or maybe even Tuxedos (I don’t specifically recall). The room has not been updated in years and I love every inch of it. Most people in Barcelona speak a good bit of English. They had to assign a different waiter because we don’t speak much Spanish, much less Catalan. I mention this to speak on the authenticity of this restaurant. Most people in the restaurant were locals and most seemed to be regulars. Now, let’s get to the food. The two dishes I remember were Kokotxas (fish cheeks) in green sauce and the foie gras in morels. The Kokotxas has been cooked down until their gelatinous juices and have been released with garlic, parsley, and sliced chilis. The dish giggled with delight when we moved it around the table. The foie gras and morels seems to have been cooked down with sherry, parsley, and a boatload of butter. Both dishes were great. There aren’t too many restaurants that specialize in Basque cuisine, that I know of, so take the opportunity and try something that doesn’t get enough attention. I would most certainly go again.

The food was enjoyable, particularly the bean starter but we were disappointed with the steak... Flavour lacked somewhat. Really expected more the the price. Wines good. Service good. Atmosphere refined.

My wife and I had two excellent dinners at Gorria. The food is delicious and our waiter, Javier, went out of his way to make sure we had a wonderful dining experience. We highly recommend the cold cod appetizer and the turbot and kukocas entrees and the red liquor ice cream dessert. We will be back every time we are in Barcelona!!!

Read good reviews about Gorria. Went with family and shocked by watching celebritie´s pictures on the front wall once you enter. Harrison Ford, Woody Allen, etc ... Was really excited and ready to spend moeny for a good experience. We were 4 of us, and once we started ordering felt, either there is lack of motivation, or just keeping up. Some of the drinks did not come, and when it came after re-ordering, came a wrong one. Food oK but not worth the prices for them, even though the restaurant carries typical Spanich elegant style. Will not repeat.

The impeccable quality of the product and an accurate and accurate execution maintain this classic house, already with forty years of existence, at the top of the Basque-Navarre gastronomy one of the most incredible restaurants in Barcelona.
