Review of Hotel Glories
Reviewed Apr 25, 2018
Stayed her post cruise for 2 nights, room small, dark bedding and curtains, bed takes up most of the room had 2 singles pushed together to make a double. No main ceiling light only lamps, no mirror in bedroom only in bathroom, So couldn’t see very well. Had to use small make- up mirror while husband was using bathroom so mirror in bathroom kept steaming up.
There is a safe which was just as well, as bedroom window would not lock which looked out onto a small balcony belonging to another room, so not very safe as could be opened from outside.
Staff friendly but when ask if we could change rooms so we were in same area as family we were travelling with but refused to accomadate us.
Just glad we were only staying 2 nights would not return here.

stayed with a friend for 6 nights in two different rooms - booked them separately, but at check-in asked for numbers nearby and got them. Clean and convenient bathroom. Room is very small and has no street view. Good breakfast. Always responsive staff. Location is good, we had time to explore places nearby - flea market, local cafes, certainly Sagrada Familia - got a pleasant walk and memories. Hotel has both cons and pros - I think it's better to stay here if in Barcelona you are not the first time.

The rooms are very small, but they do have a safe for belongings, and a bidet which is an added bonus. Bathroom is pretty good. The bed takes up half of the room. No view.

Breakfast was ok but could be better, although I did get there in the last hour.

My wifi connection worked fine for internet, but I could not make calls from my smartphone at the hotel! When I walked 20-30 feet from the hotel, I could make calls. At my other hotels I stayed at, this wasn't a problem. Weird.

Hotel is in a decent location. It's on 1 of the major streets in the city centre. Glories, in Barcelona. Close to the big Glories shopping mall, 10 min walk. Glories mall has everything, even a supermarket. There are also subway stations about a 5-10 min walk from the hotel.

Not bad, but there are better places to stay.

A very clean and affordable hotel with lovely staff. Not that close to main attractions but for £40 a night for a twin room great value . We were in basement room which was a bit disappointing but only stayed 2 nights

We stayed at the Hotel Glories in Barcelona prior to a cruise as part of a package for just one night I’m pleased to say. Our room was downstairs from reception, it had a window that overlooked a wall, so very little natural light and the room was cold and barely furnished and looked nothing like the photos of other rooms I have seen on Tripadvisor. It had the feel of a hostel.
I had read the reviews before we went and very nearly contacted our agent to change, but as we had been wanting to visit Sagrada Famillia for years decided to stick with it.
For the fantastic visit we enjoyed at SF I’m glad we did, but I would not stop there again.

The hotel itself is nice enough it’s just a shame about some of the clientele they allow to stay. Neighbours in room next to mine smoked in rooms (which is forbidden) and played their horrible Russian music until the small hours. When they finally did quieter down only to be woken by the constant stream of traffic. I get it it’s Barcelona, it’s going to be noisy. The biggest let down is the way the hot water appears to be RATIONED. Tried to take a shoe in the evening (around 10/10:30) each time to be met with stone cold water. Not acceptable for a hotel to be doing this in 2018. We had two rooms which neither of us had hot water in the evenings which is quite frankly a disgrace. Maybe there was an issue with the plumbing but it’s simply not acceptable. I’d recommend for anyone to do their research about the location of the hotel before booking. Can not fault the staff however they were friendly and very willing to help and cleaners did a superb job of keeping rooms clean and tidy.
