Kacey Musgraves shocks fans as she strips NUDE for new project - three years after THAT naked Saturday Night Live performance

Kacey Musgraves shared a racy snap of her nude body being covered in what appeared to be mud or makeup during a photo-shoot on Thursday.

The singer, 35, shared a captionless post on her Instagram Story, and in the photo, she was seen taking a selfie in a makeup trailer while her team got her ready for an unspecified project.

She grinned widely as she held up her phone to capture the mirror snapshot.

The Rainbow hitmaker — who revealed she was contemplating moving to New York City earlier this year — covered up her modesty with just a brown heart emoji.

Her hair and makeup team were seen attentively painting her entire body and fixing her pinstraight hair.

This comes shortly after she released her sixth studio album Deeper Well in March, so she could be filming for a new music video.

And the songwriter is no stranger to daring displays as she previously performed naked on Saturday Night Live in 2021.

For her second performance on the comedy series, she took the stage to sing her hit song from that year, Justified.

Her publicist later confirmed that besides not lip-synching, she also did not feign nudity when she wore just a pair of cowboy boots and covered her body with her guitar.

'She was nude,' her rep confirmed to Variety. 'Precautions were taken, and this was the first time it's happened on the show.'

She may be working on a new musical performance as a follow-up to the music video for her lead single and title track off of Deeper Well.

In mid-March, she made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and recalled the last time she made a music video and detailed her harrowing experience filming during a windstorm in Iceland.

'It's like another planet,' she said about her music video. 'It's kind of sci-fi, but it's really earthy. It's amazing.'

However, in one scene, she walked along a cliff and she said she almost was 'blown off.'

'We picked the worst possible week to go,' she said. 'I was so excited. It was on my bucket list,' she recalled.

'It was high wind advisories,' she noted. 'I almost got blown off that cliff.'

She joked that the video would be her 'death announcement,' because 'it was a sheer drop down to the ocean.'

'It was treacherous. Even the locals were like, "This is some scary s***."

'All week the weather was just terrible,' she added.
