£530,000 raised! 15,000 units sold🔥 Kameese D. will be speaking at the entrepreneurship summit on the raising finance panel! Kameese Davis founded Nylahs Naturals a hair care product line that has become a beacon of inclusivity and sustainability. In 2021, Kameese took her products to the Dragons’ Den and was successful in winning £50k investment for a 40% stake from Sara Davies. Even though Kameese ultimately decided to walk away from her partnership with Sara (as she wanted more decision-making power) she has discussed the value of working with Sara’s team and the help she received from the process. Since leaving the Dragons’ Den, the business has done immensely well with a first-year turnover target of £97k eventually making full-year sales of £170k compared to the £14k turnover that was experienced prior to her appearance on Dragons’ Den.   Nylahs Naturals has secured deals with Boots and Superdrug, Nylahs Naturals has now sold over 15,000 units with the Flourish Hair Booster Serum being particularly popular. Since it launched the product has won awards and has also been featured in Stylist magazine. In the future, Kameese hopes to spread Nylahs Naturals internationally and continues to work with outlets that take time to really understand the potential of the textured hair market. There will be another price increase on Monday!🚨 order your tickets now🔥

CDD Analyst at Rabobank | Google Top Black Talent program 2020

With the hype and speculation, surrounding Artificial Intelligence at present, it’s been great to be able to attain the Certificate in Ethical AI from the The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI). This comprehensive program has allowed me to widen my understanding of the key issues related to the implementation of AI within financial services organisations, focusing on the following modules: - AI - An introduction - Ethical AI and Professional Codes of Conduct - Risk Management in AI - Strategic Approaches to AI - Tactical Development of AI (Executive Management) - Further module containing curated AI learning (videos/articles) The practical applications of AI and machine learning in financial services are vast and can be applied to things like: automated credit decisions, fraud/fin-crime detection, regulatory compliance monitoring & reporting, customer chatbots/VA’s, etc. All of which can help increase efficiency and satisfaction. A recent example of this can be seen with Morgan Stanley who this week announced the early July roll out of its ‘Debrief’ Generative AI assistant, built on OpenAI’s GPT-4, that will support it’s financial advisors in note-taking at client meetings (with client consent required). Specifically it will surface action items, summarize key points, draft emails, and save notes into Salesforce, with the hope of saving thousands of hours of analyst labour. Bearing in mind these great applications, there are still serious problems that can arise in the application of this technology in the form of potential data biases, privacy/security issues, and meeting explanatory, transparency and legal requirements. Overall, it’s clear that companies will start/continue to trial and implement transformative AI technology over the next 5-10 years. As a result it’s paramount that there is adequate monitoring, control, regulation and ethical consideration from management and staff to ensure we achieve the best outcomes possible for all. Many thanks to Gemma Hardy Kirsty Crosby (Assoc CIPD) Tracy Vegro OBE The Gen Z Club for providing the opportunity. I would highly recommend to anyone interested!

Does the fact I didn’t go to a top university mean I’m not talented? There is so much talent at universities that are outside of the Russel group university’s. Yet that’s the only place companies look to recruit talent. And then they are surprised when there is no diversity of thought in their organisation. There are very talented people in Russel group universities, But there are also people who go there because of their background , the school they went to , the family or area they grew up in. So there are talented individuals that are not in Russel group universities not because they are less talented. But circumstances just didn’t go in their favour. If you are only going to the top universities to recruit talent you’re doing yourself a massive disservice. Some of the most talented people I’ve met didn’t go to some of the top universities. You are also inadvertently feeding into providing opportunities to only the people who came from better backgrounds and disregarding those that came from less fortunate backgrounds. This is known as the ‘Matthew effect’ Which refers to a pattern in which those who begin with advantage accumulate more advantage over time and those who begin with disadvantage become more disadvantaged over time. The result is ever-widening differences between the advantaged and disadvantaged. Some Recruiters are actually widening the gap between the advantaged and the disadvantaged with out realising. Please be very mindful of this. In 2024 I have a mission! Integrate entrepreneurship into the work place. → Most companies don’t know how to hire A - player talents from Gen Z and how to keep them in their company. This is going to sound arrogant but it’s not. It’s just honest and true. If you’re a company that wants to tap into black Gen Z talent and you haven’t heard of The Gen Z Club. There is a deeper underlying issue here. The Gen Z Club is one of , if not THE largest community of Gen Z Black professionals and Entrepreneurs in the UK. We have a have millions of impressions online have hundreds of thousands of followers and have had over 5000 attendees attend our events in the past 2 years. I’ll be surprised if there is Black Gen Z in London involved in the corporate world or entrepreneurship aged 18-25 that hasn’t heard of us , been to an event or seen the content of either The Gen Z Club itself of one of the founders. In fact please comment ‘Hi’ below if you’re a black Gen Z aged 18-25 and you have heard of the Gen Z Club. The reason I say this has nothing to do with gloating. But to highlight how out of touch some organisations are with the demographic they are supposedly trying to help or target. It’s so alarming I have to question if they really care or are even trying. It doesn’t take two seconds to type ‘black Gen Z Communities’ onto Instagram or Tiktok. It doesn’t take two seconds to ask a younger sibling , nephew or niece or even an younger employee where are the community’s I can find the demographic I’m looking to target. If you type in ‘Gen Z networking events’ you will pretty much only see videos of The Gen Z Club. If you’re looking to target young black talent and you haven’t heard of The Gen Z Club one of the largest black Gen Z communities in the UK I think alarm bells should be ringing. You should start to realise that you’re out of touch with the demographic you’re trying to serve. It may be time to diversify your team and bring in perspective and insights from the very people you’re trying to target. It might be time for you to get on TikTok and just study what’s going on and where they are hanging out. Social media gives you global reach there is no excuse to be out of touch in 2024 what so ever. If your strategy around attracting young talent only revolves around attending university’s in 2024 (A place that Gen Z are seriously questioning if it’s worth the debt and are opting to start business , get a apprenticeship or find just find an entry level role) that’s incredibly lazy which ironically is a word people love to throw at Gen Z. There is EXTREME talent and hard working people in Gen Z Black communities! There is EXTREME talent and hard working people in low income house holds. But some companies are so out of touch and don’t even care enough to get in touch they will never find it. They will ultimately pay the price for it.

Thank you Queen Mary University for helping me conduct research🥹 Over the past 6 months I’ve been working with masters students from the Queen Mary University of London to conduct research on how to attract and retain black talent. As well as the systematic Barriers that Black Gen Z face in the work place when trying to access jobs. I am proud to announce the report is now Complete! The data generated was both incredibly interesting as well as alarming. The students used qualitative , quantitative primary and secondary research. They incorporated their own research , research already done , case studies and an element of psychology. To produce one of the most well rounded , detailed and comprehensive presentations I’ve seen in a while. (Coming from someone that has read almost 100 books) They also provided recommendations on what corporations can do to attract and retain talent. As a black Gen Z myself it’s still very important that I thoroughly understand my community and the barriers they face. As well as feedback that information to all the companies we work with. I’ll be sharing the details of the report over the coming weeks on LinkedIn so follow me if you don’t already to keep up to date. I’m really excited to share the details so we can make a collective effort to ensure more talented Gen Z work in environments they can thrive. Which will be more beneficial for society as a whole. I’d like to thank Queen Mary for the opportunity especially James Pritchard and Dr Lilian S. I’d also like to thank the talented students Saheli Mukherjee #akshat dixit Dhruv Karumbaya #shreya tiwari Suharsha Chougule All the best in your life post university and the job hunt. It’s been a pleasure getting to know you all and from what I’ve seen you’ll be a true asset to any organisation who is lucky enough to have you. This is university education done correctly! Expect more posts on the report to follow! The Gen Z Club

I just hit 10,000 Tiktok followers 🥹 In all honesty, I actually have mixed emotions about this, Part of me is grateful of course, Another part of my feels like I should have more. Another part of me thinks this is long overdue. I should have hit this milestone far earlier but I took a break from Tiktok for a year or two. I only started taking it seriously a couple months ago and I’m really enjoying doing so. People are constantly telling me I’m more well known than what my followers suggests. And I still find it so alarming how often I get stopped by strangers on the streets of London that say they recognise me from LinkedIn and Tiktok and I just think How? I have hardly any followers lol. What i’m now realising, The people that follow me on social media are a special group of people. I only post content to really help people be the best versions of themselves. My content may never catch mainstream attention. But the people who do engage with my content are the change makers, the people that want to leave a mark on the world. And to think I have 10,000 of those people following me on tiktok is something I’m very proud of. I’ll never stop posting content that I think will truly help educate and inspire people. Even if that means that I’ll never get the following or the attention of the people that are posting more popular style of content. The lesson here is to stay true to yourself and to what you want to be known for and the impact you want to leave on people’s lives. Your tribe will find you. Here’s to the next 10,000 followers of change makers and world beaters 🥂 In 2024 I have a mission!
