Manasi Salvi's track was abruptly over in Ghum Hai Kisike Pyaar Mein, when she was essaying the role of Shakti Arora's mom. However, her track was revived just a day before the makers decided to take a leap and she is now essaying a strong role as Savi's (Bhavika Sharma) mother-in-law. Her character is desperate to find a good match for Savi and many feel that her character resembles Neena Kulkarni's role in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein.
Currently, the track in Ghum is quite similar to the 2013 show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein where a single father and a dentist, who cannot become a mother come closer as they are neighbours and find a common path. Neena Kulkarni played Divyanka Tripathi's mother, who does not get along with the lead actor Karan Patel's mother in the show. Similarly, in Ghum, Manasi's character also does not get along with Rajat's (Hitesh Bharadwaj) mother and the two neighbours fight! Here, too Hitesh's character is a single father while Savi is a school teacher, who cannot become a mother.
BT reached out to Manasi Salvi, who plays Dr Isha in the show about this. With such interesting similarities between the two characters, we asked Manasi about it and she said, "As an actor I have no clue about this. An actor is not involved in the creative process so I am in no capacity to comment on the same. Actor is the last in hierarchy as far as script is concerned. I am giving my best to the role. I feel it is interesting and have received good feedback on it."
The actress, however, shared how she has known the show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. She said, "The show was famous though I haven’t watched it at length."
