Free Seniors' Drop-In During Heat Event

To help residents beat the heat, adults 55+ are invited to discover and attend the Kamloops Seniors’ Drop-in Program at Heritage House for free during the heat wave until the end of the heat event issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada. Programming takes place on Thursdays and Sundays. Learn more about the City's heat response at Kamloops.ca/Heat

Research shows that regular physical activity and social activities improve health and wellness. Doing activities together with other people, family and friends supports you in learning new skills, trying new things, making friends, getting active, and having fun. This initiative is an opportunity for people new to Kamloops to explore what our community has to offer.

Kamloops Seniors' Drop-In Program

Join us each week and connect with others! All days run at the Heritage House, located at 100 Lorne Street (Downtown).

  • Thursdays from 12:30–3:30 pm
  • Sundays from 10:00 am-1:30 pm

Registration is not required; however, there is a $2.00 cash drop-in fee. Patrons can also purchase a punch card onsite for $20.00, which provides 11 entries to the program. On Sundays, patrons can purchase soup for lunch made by Jaye McMaster.

Schedules

Although the program is scheduled to take place every Thursday and Sunday, please ensure that on the date you wish to come, there is no cancellation due to a statutory holiday or for other programming. View a schedule below:

What to expect when you arrive:

A member of the 55+ community will welcome you into the building, ask you to sign-in and take your $2.00 drop-in fee. While at the program, there are a variety of games you can play while you enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.

Additionally, to keep activities happening after the program ends for the day, a variety of books and puzzles are available to be borrowed, which we hope will encourage a return visit to our program when they are due for return.
