We chose this property through AMEX as a last minute getaway. With the holiday weekend, the properties we usually frequent were not available. After reading the reviews we decided to give it a shot. It was everything we desired- excellent customer service, great food & drinks, beautiful, serene property and outstanding service & staff. Special shout to Carlos (server) and Odalis (bell hop) who greeted us with a smile daily and assisted us with learning more of the Spanish language.

If you’re looking for a quiet, luxury escape from life’s demands and obligations, this is it! As a part-time travel advisor, I can’t wait to tell my peers and clients about this place. I have been to many places around the world. This is a hidden gem.

Wonderful Experience

I have nothing but good things to say about this resort. I booked 34 rooms for a corporate summit in January 2024 and the staff was top notch. The rooms were spacious and clean, the staff was attentive and thoughtful. The WiFi was strong with no outages. I felt very safe at this resort. A few employees went deep sea fishing and the chef at the hotel was able to cook the fish they caught for our team dinner, so cool!!! If you are looking to book a corporate retreat this hotel is wonderful and has everything you would need on-site. We are considering coming back in Jan 2025 :)

Room tip: Great place for a corporate retreat. I LOVE this resort. Our employees couldn’t stop talking about how wonderful it was. :)

Amazing experience

Staff is amazing incredibly helpful, friendly and thoughtful, the hotel itself is an absolute gem, wonderful ambiance and vibes, my particular room backed up with a view of the ocean waking up every morning to what felt like heaven with the sun rising, DR is paradise

A Caribbean secret

Beautiful hidden jewel frankly. Wonderfully friendly staff throughout, interesting and well thought out food menus and clean spacious rooms. Miriam in the spa gave me 4 incredible deep tissues massages, best i have had in 40 years of traveling! I Felt like a new man! Great gym and steam and sauna facilities to use at will which was a nice add on.

Delightful orchid filled gardens with a lovely beach as well as a fab roof top pool and hot tub area too, really well designed and super nice, which became our perfect daily lunch spot for my family each day after a morning at the beach. Amazing views! Menu again a delight!

Evening dinners at Lucia restaurant were very well done with super attentive folk looking after you.
Feels like a home from home, with even the family who own it showing a real genuine interest in their guests and that they are enjoying everything about their stay.

Second time my wife and I have stayed here and will consider now a place to return to over the years ahead.

A real hidden gem, very fairly priced and super relaxing.

Classic paradise

A special place. A colonial-style mansion set back in the jungle along a beautiful stretch of beach. Very high-end. The food is excellent—emphasis on excellent—but your dining options are limited outside the hotel. There’s a forlorn shopping mall down the road and a pretty good Italian restaurant, if you want a break from the breakfast and dinner routine at the hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The rooftop pool is small, but hot tubs are nice—a good spot to go if the beach is windy. The beach and water are really nice, even in February. Expect locals to offer to braid hair or sell trinkets—they’re all licensed and professional when you decline. Recommend this spot for couples who want to spend a few days in the sun doing not much else.
