I had a great time. It was my first time in the Dominican Republic and definitely won’t be my last. I met so many people from other countries and cultures, and even some from my own state in the USA! The buffets were great, Trapinche restaurant was delicious, as well as the others, and I loved the multiple pools and views! Off the resort, we enjoyed the banana (fell off multiple times lol), the town of Puerto Plata (provided by the hotel and its tour guide). At the resort, we enjoyed activities like the Foam Party in the pool, and the Michael Jackson tribute at the Coliseum. We kept the Presidente coming all day. What also was awesome was the MAMAJUANA! I usually only listen to Mexican music, but I know El Alfa always says that in his music, but I didn’t know what it meant. However, Wilfredo (el Wili o el Fory) did. I saw “República Dominicana, tierra de la Mamajuana” all of a sudden, in the middle pool bar. He heard me reading it, pointed at me, said “MAMAJUANA!”, whipped out a bottle, and gave me a shot of what turned out to be Mamajuana, a prestigious Dominican liqueur! We had great conversations while he attended me, my dad, and great uncle, who also had some. We had great conversations, great drinks, and a great time with el Wili. He’s an expert bartender and a great guy overall. He knew exactly when we were done, exactly what we wanted, as well as everyone else. Very memorable experience.
