We went there on a Monday ev as per a friend’s recommendation.
For a Michelin star restaurant the value for money is more than excellent!
We’ve been welcomed very gently with a complimentary glass of Cava as a compensation for waiting to be seated.
The food was extremely tasty and delicately cooked.
You can feel various flavours while eating, I have to admit it’s a unique moment.
The only reproach we would comment would be some of the waiters.
One of them is focused on prices while giving you some suggestion about the food or wine to influence your choice.
You do not expect to have the staff directing your choice based on price in such a place.
Also he is constantly winking at you and your partner it’s a bit uncomfortable.
But Appart from that I would be definitely delighted to recommend it.
Excellent cuisine and atmosphere.

My wife and two young children ate here recently and enjoyed exceptional food and phenomenal service. Our waiter, Jerome, was undaunted at the prospect of waiting on a 6 year old and 2 year old despite the caliber of the restaurant. They were very patient with us and the experience was excellent. Our favorite was the flan of gruyere cheese with black truffles. The wine was also top notch and good value.

The only thing that I want to say , it’s that I need to go back to taste the order dishes.
This place is just fantastic, friendly staff very knowledgeable about the dishes.
The wine list is incredible you have some wines very good and cheap until very expensive bottles.
The taste of the food is amazing, the prices are very raisonnable.
I could see some other dishes from the other tables , just when you have a look you when to try them.
Congratulations to all of them and see you soooon!!
Make sure to keep space for the desserts

This is a personal experience, thus it may not apply to you.
Upon reservation, you must provide credit card or reservation is not effective. CC provided. The day before actual dinner received SMS demanding CC or reservation will be cancelled. Sent back screen shot of their actual charge of €0 to my CC. Called restaurant on day of reservation. I was first told it had been cancelled, then they found it. Upon entering the restaurant at 20:30 we’re told there’s no reservation. They finally sit us in the corner of the only indoor table.
They recommended the “surprise” menu, a very extensive and absolutely delicious panoply of dishes. While we were barely finishing dessert at 22:30 we are told we most vacate the table because there’s another party waiting for that very table.
The bill was close to €300 for three people, included 1 bottle of wine.
Food was outstanding, the staff friendly and efficient. But I’ll never go back.

We ate here for the first time and really loved the food. It is extremely creative and well executed. However, when the bill arrived we were shocked and disappointed.
We had taken the last available reservation, which was at 21.45. When we arrived, the table wasn't ready and we were asked to wait. The maître d' offered to help us choose a glass of wine to sip while we waited. We took his recommendation on a glass of red. When we were seated at almost 20h, we were told we would need to order quickly because the kitchen was about to close. We chose a 36 euro bottle of red from the wine list. The
maître d' pointed out that this was a white, but that he had the same in red. We agreed.
When the bill arrived, the two glasses we had had while waiting were 17 euros each. A shocking amount for a glass of wine in Barcelona, but of course we hadn't asked the price. However, the bottle that we were served was 64 euros, more than twice the price of the white I had pointed to. Our bill totaled 225 and wine was almost half of it. I am not cheap, but it is unacceptable to substitute a bottle that is more than twice as much when you know your customer's price range, without informing them that you are about to do so.
The table service in general was excellent and when we expressed our disappointment to our server she brought us a lovely brandy to sip even though we insisted it wasn't necessary.
While the food was excellent, the whole experience left a bad taste in our mouth, which is really unfortunate and was totally avoidable.

I returned to this place 4 years after my first visit and found it becoming even better than I remembered.
The food is very creative and mixes the idea of traditional tapas with French tastes (and beyond). The wine list is so interesting, that I even had to spend 10 minutes trying to choose the best wine out of 10 interesting options. The service is impeccable.
Well, the price level is pretty high (for Barcelona, Spain, Northern Europe and UK). But the joy you feel dining there is SO worth the costs.
I will certainly be back next time I am in town.
Tip: Please book days in advance - despite their price level, they seem to be always fully booked with the guests who can't resist their amazing food!

If you are a food and wine lover , this is one of the best place in Barcelona to enjoy a nice diner.
Super friendly stall with a strong knowledge of their food.
All dishes will be explain to you so well.
The taste of the food is just amazing.You will need to go back many times to enjoy all the menu.
Very nice wine list and very nice offer as well for the wine by glass.
I need to go back to try other dishes.

A number of years ago I was recommended to this restaurant by a local and my partner and I have been coming back ever since when we visit. This year we came with my brother and his daughter and I promised them a meal to remember. As always the staff were warm and friendly and ensure that our evening was not supported by the adaptations that were acquired because of Covid.
The menu again was mouthwatering, with four of us at the table we were able to choose a wider variety of options and we had a lot to choose from. One of the qualities of this this restaurant is that flight was that I would not normally like seem to be extra special the way they cook the food here and the modern day slant of a Tapas bar is absolutely beautiful.
The food from start to finish was of the highest quality and how this restaurant does not have a Michelin star is beyond me. I have been to Michelin restaurant in Barcelona and London, my home, which do not meet the quality of the food at this restaurant. I would genuinely recommend a visit to anyone that asks.
Thank you again everybody at Mont Bar for such a great evening.

We have dined at Mont Bar on close to 10 occasions over the past few years. Each time we return we are impressed with the quality and consistency of the experience.
The meal consists of small plates ordred a la carte. Each dish is beautifully prepared with fresh ingredients and balanced flavours. I can't think of any dishes that we haven't absolutely loved; we often order the Ibirean sobrassada with Mahon cheese, the tuna tartar and the jalapeno corn crisp. On our last visit we had the most delicious razor clams and coca bread with seasonal mushrooms, zucchini flower and botarga.
The restaurant has an incredible vibe yet quiet enough to carry a conversation without effort.
This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Barcelona!

We happened to be staying just down the road from this restaurant and wandered in without knowing anything about it. The staff managed to reserve us a table for our last night and we are so glad they did! The experience was absolutely wonderful - the menu was full of fascinating things and we opted to let the restaurant pick a selection of plates for us, an approach I thoroughly recommend. Each individual course was delicately flavoured and made amazing use of quality ingredients - everything we tried was amazing, even the things we would never have thought to order for ourselves. The service was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly throughout the meal (even more of an achievement considering that they took pity on my dreadful Spanish and spoke to us in English pretty much throughout). Drinks recommendations from our server were spot on and really enhanced the meal. If you enjoy food and fine dining then this is absolutely worth a visit.

Mont Bar is one of the few restaurants in the world that does a perfect job of balancing presentation, texture, and taste. They allow for customization to the course format of your meal. The kitchen creates food with hints of Japanese style incorporated. Our server was friendly and informative with beautiful descriptions of the equally beautiful food. Overall Mont Bar makes absolutely delicious meals were there is something for everyone.

My husband and I were gifted the tasting meal by our daughter and her fiancé. Every dish that came out was unique, beautifully plated, and full of robust flavors. The service was impeccable. We had the honor of meeting the owner who spent the evening making sure everyone was enjoying their meal. The warm hospitality we received made the evening even more magical. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Went solo for lunch on a summer Tuesday. The menu also offers all carte but I want for the tasting menu with the wine pairing. A very informal atmosphere with all superb dishes offered in a snack style format. The wine selected were also amazing. A great experience not to be missed when in a Barcelona. Well deserved its star.

MONT BAR is a very small place with the community feeling, long sharing table and sits at the bar counter or hight table. Beside the look with very good wine bottles hanging everywhere the show is when food comes on the table. What the heck, definitely a wonderful experience packed with flavors and Entertainment beautifully performed by their waiting stuff. Davide guide us to best wine pairing and waitress Gothia if I remember well the name, explained every dish, both made our experience even better with their guidance.

Mont Bar is such a special place in Barcelona! It is casual with a fun atmosphere (loved the playlist) and we were treated like celebrities there. The service was above and beyond (shout out to all the staff, especially Jean and Davide) and the food was absolutely amazing! We loved it so much - this is an experience you dream about - if you are visiting Barcelona, this is a MUST!
