Con Gracia is quite different to the other restaurants of the area. It is way more sophisticated, truly a fine-dining experience. Foodwise, the chef is not afraid to take a risk. Every single dish had something interesting to offer. Just have a look at the pictures! Not only do they look good, I can vouch for the taste as well ;) The service was attentive without overdoing it. Every dish is thoroughly explained, and the waiters make sure to make this an enjoyable and playful experience, asking you to guess ingredients etc. And all of this for a pretty affordable price - it was two of us, and we paid about 180 euros for the set menu, and a bottle of cava. Overall I'd definitely recommend Con Gracia to anyone interested in the Barcelona gourmet scene.

Everything was very memorable – the inventive food, the beautiful presentation, the welcoming attentive service, the cozy sophisticated ambiance and the value for what we paid. The “Experience” prix fix menu and the wine parings – eight courses and six wines – was a lovey mix of tastes, textures and foods. My wife is gluten intolerant and loved the substitutions including the bread. She asked about where were we could get it in Barcelona, the server gave her the details and offered to provide suggestions for what to do close to the bakery.

We picked this restaurant to celebrate our first anniversary of moving to Barcelona and we could not have made a better choice! Tucked away on a narrow street, the unassuming facade hides a small intimate restaurant with only about half a dozen tables. Guests can either opt for the tasting menu with set dishes or let the chef surprise them (same price, both are 65EUR for 9 courses)! We opted for the chef's choice and were delighted. Each dish is beautifully presented with exquisite flavours and textures. Our courses included slow-cooked pancetta that melted in your mouth, a creamy rice with half a dozen different mushrooms, smoked fish and a succulent Iberico pork. I opted for the wine pairing (30 EUR) and was thrilled with the variety of the all-Spanish wines that were served, My partner prefers to drink beer and our server went out of his way to find a special beer that matched his taste. In fact, that set the tone for the entire evening with some of the best service I have experienced: friendly without being the overbearing formality you sometimes find in fine restaurants. The two servers were also very knowledgable about the food and wine. And with only 6 tables they had time for a chat here and there. The staff also speak excellent English. I can't wait for the next menu to come out so we have an excuse to go back!

We ate here around a year and a half ago, in what now seems like a totally different time. This is some of the most inventive, carefully coordinated food you will ever experience. The service is impeccable and everything from the decor to the waiter's amusing anecdotes added to the occasion. The menu might seem expensive, but it is well worth the money in the end, especially if you save this is a special occasion or last-night-of-vacation dinner spot. Overall, an amazing experience.

With a chill vibe and relaxed mood you order one of 2 tasting menu. We had the traditional one, I needed to change 2 dishes slightly due to my diet and the stuff was amazingly caring and attentive to those needs. The dishes were incredibly, each dish with it's own uniqueness and surprise, lots of textures and great thought behind them. The wine we tried was great as well. Most recommended!

I had wanted to give this restaurant a good review but I am sorry that I can't. We had expected so much better based on the reviews. By Barcelona standards for 200 euros for two people you expect something special and I can say there were no WOW! moments here, with the possible exception of the sechwan flower. There were some good concepts but poorly executed, the squid was tough, the duck cold, the bacon a bit rubbery, and other dishes were just ok. The service was good but condescending, calling you by your first name is a bit contrived. What we objected the most was the wine pairing, while the five wines they served were very good, for 60 euros a couple you expect more than an ounce or two of each. And to really top it off, they offered water and then they charge you another 4.50 euros for a bottle and they never tell you this is an extra charge. Very tacky. I don't expect they will get much repeat business, certainly we will not go back.

Our night at Con Gracia was the most magical experience during our stay in Barcelona. Chef Jose put together an incredible 9 course degustation menu - each course was delicious, refined, wonderfully arranged and beautifully presented, with emphasis on local ingredients. Our menu was €65 per person and the quality of food we received was worth easily five times that price! Even though the meal was a standout hit, the service is what made the experience so magical. Chef Jose personally attended each table and engaged us in delightful conversation as we pleased. The next course was always ready at exactly the right time, and we never felt rushed . We arrived at 8pm and had the table for the night, with staff coming to add teas, coffees and small dessert samples "just to try" long after we had finished our meal. Con Gracia is truly a wonderful gem of Spanish cuisine and is putting out food that is easily worthy of a Michelin star. It has been added as the star attraction to any future visit to Barcelona - we're already booked in for next year.

From begining to end the dinner was an excellent experience. The host greets you with kindness and fine manners at the door and makes you feel wellcomed and at home. He found the perfect balance between being warm and funny without ever crossing any line. For example, he realized my husband was a leftie and placed his forks accordingly during the whole meal. Now about the food. We ordered the Tradional Tasting Menu. The pumpkin gnocci and the oyster were my favorites, but my husband felt more inclined towards the excellent slowed cooked lamb and the egg dish, of which he said he would have eaten a bucket. All in all a TOP OF THE NOTCH dining with even a few surprises like the amazing tasting of the Sichuan Flower. We will come back, for sure.

The owner, who served us, was so knowledgeable, kind and patient as he spoke slowly in Spanish and then in English (we want to get better at Spanish, so this was for us). The food was so interesting and delicious, and a real experience. The wine pairing was well worth it too. Wholeheartedly recommend a visit!

This is well worth checking out. Although the outside of the restaurant is rather unassuming - a small doorway in a narrow street - the food and service were outstanding. The host is extremely gracious and entertaining; making the meal even more enjoyable. We opted for the “chef’s recommendation” tasting menu with wine pairing and were not disappointed. The food is every bit as good as dishes served in Michelín starred restaurants. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and will definitely visit again the next time we are in Barcelona.

This meal was a highlight of my Barcelona trip, the service was excellent and friendly and the food absolutely delicious with one of the best desserts I’ve ever had Really good value for the quality of the food and I would highly recommended this on any visit to Barcelona. Definitely a Michelin star level experience. My only criticism is that the portions were on the small side even for fine dining and I didn’t leave feeling full, I think having an option of a increased course tasting menu of slightly bigger portions would be good but this doesn’t take away from my excellent experience

Prix fix menu is well worth the money and service was above and beyond. Our server literally went across the street to a different place get me a different beer because I wasn't a fan of what they had on offer. Overall, flawless evening.

Bravo! What an incredible evening out and dining experience at Con Gracia. The entrance may be unassuming, yet you enter and you find a charming dining room with a decor that can best be described as simply elegant. You are welcomed by Sabrina and Jose who ask your names so they can make it a truly personal dining experience. When we arrived, we expected to dine on the tasting menu posted on the website and at the restaurant, yet we were offered to opt for a "Chef's Choice" menu instead. We of course, went with that option and were delighted by a series of some eight courses of incredible dishes. Each dish surpassed the next in terms of taste and presentation. The service is wonderful and each dish is explained and in some cases guidance given how best to enjoy and savor the dish. Very helpful in terms of enhancing the dining experience. And, the presentation of each dish a work of art. We enjoyed the wine pairing as well, and found the selections perfectly complemented each course. We've been lucky to dine at several Michelin restaurants in Barcelona; we think Con Gracia can easily stand up to those in terms of food and experience. We are fans and will definitely be back. We've already recommended to others we've met during our visit here in Barcelona.

Would choose more stars if that was an option! By far one of, if not the, best dining experience we have ever had (family of 3). We walked in witgout calling and asked if they had any availability. They were so kind to fit us in immediately. The tasting menu was exceptional! The suggested wine choices (we did not choose the official wine paring) were also beyond expectations. I would strongly suggest going to this restaurant when you visit Barcelona. We forgot to take pictures because the food was so amazingly distracting!

Gracia
Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the centre, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. Carrer de Verdi, its main street, offers affordable restaurants and a movie theatre that screens new as well as classic films in their original language. However Gracia's greatest treasure lies just up the hill at Guell Park, where Antoni Gaudi's vibrant and revolutionary art sculptures stand atop unequaled views of Barcelona.
