I was wowed by the view from the Oleum restaurant and also by the beauty of the historic room. The menu was also excellent value at 28 euros for four courses- including a glass of wine and a bottle of water. I found the menu interesting - especially the amuse bouche and the dessert. My only tiny quibble was that the bottle of wine was running out when the waiter poured my included glass. Rather than top it up with a new bottle he just left me with a small glass of wine. He was also not especially attentive. However the restaurant manager was excellent. I found the food to be delicious and the setting was outstanding. I would love to return.

Nestled in the Museu Nacional D'Art De Catalunya in shades of blue and green, I was expecting my Christmas lunch experience to be extra special partly because it's in the museum with a commanding view of the city. I was fortunate to get a last-minute table and was hurried off to a corner of the restaurant by the hallway to the bathroom. Arriving at 1 p.m., the restaurant was not ready to receive guests which was a surprise because they opened at 12:30 p.m. Staff were still running around cleaning with a mop and bucket in hand going back and forth to the bathroom. Sadly for me, my table was by the hallway leading to the bathroom. Yikes! The space is grand with a mirrored ceiling which bounces light and color from the tables below. While I had a wonderful table by the balcony overlooking Barcelona, the cleaning crew forgot to touch up the windows because they had fingerprints on them. At least they saw the ones at the front entrance and at approximately 1:30 p.m. they were just cleaning them at the entrance. Details matter but not at the expense of guests arriving which left a bad taste in my mouth. The meal was good but average. The appetizer was one of the best parts of the menu. The soap was nice and hot - thank you; however, my main course was disappointing. I had ordered my beef to be medium rare, and it was definitely not pink inside. Dessert was okay, though the fruit was slightly ripe and a bit crunchy (particularly the strawberries). The ice cream was tasty. And with me being left to fend for myself in the back by the hallway, I was forgotten and had the waiter come to visit only once during my meal. With the Christmas menu plus coffee my total was approx. $32 Euro. Overall, I would suggest going someplace else in Barcelona to eat. Management needs to train their staff and give the restaurant a total 360-degree review. Details are lacking, service is sloppy, and guests should experience more attention.

This restaurant is located in the top floor of the Museum of Catalan Art. If you are visiting the museum I would strongly recommend you book a table at this excellent restaurant. If you manage to get a table your experience will be at least as good and memorable as visiting the museum. The quality of the food was excellent and at less than 30 euro per person for a 4-course meal, amazing value. This restaurant has to have the most outstanding views of Barcelona than any other restaurant in the city.

The food is good, but the staff is poorly trained. I had asked for a window table upon reserving, but was rudely informed by a waitress upon my entry (from the back entrance) that those tables were for "important museum people!" There were 3 tables free, none of which were marked "Reserved." She then ordered me to walk over to the other entrance to be seated, since I was "standing in the restaurant." Very insolent. None of the waiters wore name tags, and when I asked for the waitress's name, I was refused the information. I was also refused the complaint form, as by now I was really rather irritated. No apology forthcoming; no salt and pepper on the table; no bread plates, etc. etc. Y no se trata de problema de comunicación. Soy perfectamente bilingë.

Very strange service. I took a place. They welcomed me with glass of wine and closed bottle of water and menu. And then I was watching how restaurant workers took orders from clients who came after me. I haven’t seen this before. When I told that I’m leaving because it took long time to make an order, they just said - ok. And that is it, no apology. Guys, I hope you read it. Please make something with your service.

Our family of 5 ate here for lunch. It was the perfect place to rest and recharge our batteries between seeing the ancient art and the modern art. The view is amazing. We all chose items from the set menu. They were able to adapt at least one selection per course for our gluten free diners. They even provided gluten free bread.

This is a restaurant with a coffeebar.it seems that the chef won a lot of prices. Did not reflect in the food. Taste was nice , portions big, presentation nice and exceĺlent value for money. Choice of food looks big but is in fact limited if one does not eat porc. The service was very good

The restaurant is located inside the museum. It’s posh and the deco is nice. However, reservation needs to be made and the website does not have an English version. If you managed to reserve a table, please get those near to the window where you can see the beautiful city while dining. For € 28, it’s definitely not expensive for what they are offering. You get a wine, a whole bottle of mineral water, starter, main course and desert. It’s a set meal but the serving is very small though. Overall, it’s highly recommended.

Really poor service. Only two waiters for the whole place and a MD who feels very important and mistreats people. They give good tables if you are the president of the museum. He told me. Very nice decor but if you like good service and old food don’t come here

Amazing spot in beautiful historical building, one of the best settings to have a lunch in Barcelona. Great view of city through huge windows. Food was looking great and tasted even better. Would recommend it to everyone. Pretty cheap for overall experience.

Most excellent food and service - 5 stars at least. The museum is on a high point overlooking the city of Barcelona spread below. We started with Cava wine and selected our Appetizer, Main, and Dessert from a menu of lovely choices. I read later that the menu was from a 2 star Michelin chef and I believe it. My veal entrecote with scalloped potato layered with cauliflower curry cream was melt-in-my-mouth good. My husband enjoyed a Catalan dish of meatballs with beans - also very good. I highly recommend that you make a reservation and enjoy this jewel in the crown of Barcelona.

The place is very nice within the museum and has a beautiful view. You need to book in advance for tables with a window view.

They run two different restaurants in the museum, both told me they were closed, the second one paddled back that they were open if you made a reservation after they seated a couple after my inquiry. They also failed to communicate their service hours to the information desk of the museum who sent us first down- and then upstairs. To summarize: they probably needed men power to prepare a big banquet in the main hall and did not bother for the random museum guests.
