Dreams Sapphire Resort & Spa offers a vibrant ambiance, though some areas may seem dated. Many guests commend the staff's friendliness but point out service inconsistencies such as room service delays. While the location is appreciated for its closeness to the beach and airport, the resort's seclusion may necessitate transport for off-site excursions. Despite its liveliness, noise can be an issue. Rooms are clean but vary in quality, and additional costs and aggressive sales pitches have marred the perceived value for some travelers.

Overall my experience with the resort was not great. The staff was amazing and I would say they would be the only reason I would return. We had requested a different room as we had 2 twin beds for me and my wife and the options given to us were not acceptable. There was no notice given from the hotel at booking time that the hotel was going to be used for a music festival and there would be massive increase in workers due to setup. The day we left, Saturday Dec 4th, the service and the food was the best we had all week. The massive increase in care and attention due to the music festival being there was staggering and I think the fact that we didn't receive that level of service is unacceptable. The midnight buffet that was provided on Dec 3rd, the bars being open later all of these things were what was expected as it's what I have received every other time I have been to resort in Mexico. Overall like I said at the start, my experience with the staff was amazing but my experience with the resort and the quality I received for the price was not. I paid $2000 Canadian per person and I received quality I would expect from a resort I paid $1000 Canadian for. Unless I receive an email back with an apology and some sort of compensation I would never return to this resort nor will I recommend it.

Me and my family just returned from our 6 day vacation and we had a blast. Let me start by saying this resort is beautiful. When you drive up they say welcome home to make you feel welcomed. We were told we are on vacation don’t touch the bags. Our family stayed in a preferred room so we were taken to the preferred lounge to check in and were able to enjoy the amenities until our room was ready.

Pros:
top shelf liquors. In both the preferred and regular bars
The breakfast and lunch buffet were delicious.
Pools were warm
Service was spectacular
Maid service actually cleaned the rooms many days I came to find things I had misplaced

Cons:
Dinner buffer was subpar I’m not sure if that was to get you to eat in the main restaurants or not.
Room service menu is slim and also takes hr or longer.
Wait for restaurants are hr long and they wouldn’t join tables for our party of 12 twice they wanted to sit on opposite sides of the restaurant. Please check your covid 19 results we had birthday and passport numbers miss printed.

Overall I enjoyed my stay and would return.

Just returned from our 9th trip to the Now Sapphire and loved it even more the past 8 trips. From the minute you pull up to the resort the special treatment begins, everyone is treated like a King & Queen. The employees from the past years remember us from year to year which is so special to me. Resort is just beautiful, employees are the best always so happy and ready to help or just visit. We had an ocean front room that was awesome, a view that was wonderful. The food and drinks are amazing as always. The beach was back to the beautiful beach from a couple of years ago with no seaweed, water was warm, very windy so rough sea. Every more we looked forward to our trip down to breakfast, our waiters were amazing. Drinks poured as soon as we walked in without even asking what we wanted, what wonderful memories they have , same thing at lunch. It was very sad leaving, you feel like you are leaving family for a whole year. We will definitely be back next February. If looking for a place to vacation this is your place. Don’t forget to tip the employees they work so hard for you.

We visited the Now Sapphire the second week of February 2021 for 5 days, 4 nights. We had a fabulous time. The resort grounds were so clean and aesthetically pleasing! I love how everything was outdoors, and surrounded by water. It made us feel much safer during the pandemic. The staff, specifically Victor the pool bartender, and the Now entertainment team (Luigi, Julio and more) were SO great and attentive. I feel like we formed friendships with many of the employees. My only gripe is the food quality. The hibachi was great, but you had to wait in a line in the middle of the afternoon for a same day reservation. The rest of the buffets and restaurants were mediocre. But other than that, everything was perfect. Next time, I would definitely pay for a room with a view, because our tropical room view was ground floor which made it lack some natural lighting. Also, the COVID testing for American travelers was pretty easy and quick and i loved that they were accommodating to that. I loved the Now Sapphire and our trip!

I’ll start out by saying I would go back but also will be looking for something slightly nicer next time. Great for a nice family resort with a variety of food options. The seaweed was not as bad as I’ve seen in the past and they do some maintenance to mitigate it. The main pool is huge and we didn’t have any problem with space or getting a drink at the great pool bar. I did hear multiple times that they were only at 35-40% capacity but this wasn’t by any employees. Service was always great and more like 4.5 stars.
We added the ocean view room after we got there but we heard other people couldn’t due to availability. The add cost us $400 for 6 nights and was well worth it. I highly suggest the third floor corner rooms because they are set out from the adjacent rooms 5-10’.
I suggest the preferred club option which has more and better alcohol options. The adult pool is a nice option too for some peace and quiet away from the pool activities, music and kiddos.
Room was nice and cleaned well every day, even after beach sand messes.
The beach bar was closed (due to covid I heard) but heard it was opening up in December.
The cenotes tour booked from the pool kiosk was awesome with an ATV jungle ride to three cenotes and 4-5 pretty good zip lines.
One complaint I have is that some of the restaurants were oddly hard to find. The signage could be better since they’re all directly adjacent to each other and kind of look like the same restaurant. The Mexican restaurant is only accessible through a different restaurant so we didn’t find it until day 6. The French restaurant was my favorite

Upon our arrival, my mother & I were greeted by Saul who took us to our room after checking in and even immediately assisted us in making a change in the location of our room after he informed us that we were originally booked in a room one the top floor (the resort does not have elevators). Saul was extremely considerate given the fact that I was traveling with my elderly mother and was able to get us a room on the 1st floor. Saul and Gerardo (bellmen) assisted us throughout our stay and made always made themselves readily available to assist with everything from transportation to Cancun, to services at the resort and scheduling of our COVID-19 tests before returning home. The resort was well maintained throughout and there are a variety of dining options. We met some amazing staff members at Cibu and the Bluewater Grill. Especially, Eloy, Eduardo & Gloria to name a few. They were very attentive and provided exceptional services at both restaurants, which is why we frequented those 2 restaurants the most. We spent a lot time at the adult pool because it was quieter than the main pool and Vicente and the staff at the adult pool were very nice and attentive. A special thanks to Saul, Gerardo, Eloy, Eduardo, Gloria & Vicente for making our stay at Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun so special! We look forward to seeing you all soon!

We stayed at this Dreams location April 9-16, 2022. We booked this place based on our previous experience at staying in another Dreams which was amazingly luxurious. This was not it. We paid for the preferred club expecting some special perks like access to reserved beach area or pool and for none of this other than access to a closed bar room which offered the same food as the rest of the restaurants and a coffee machine that only did espresso shots. The only private access was to the adult pool which we couldn’t use as we have two kids (that pool also got loud with partying couples so not exactly a relaxing atmosphere). The main pool area was nice, although there were broken tiles in the pool. However, you can never get a deck chair and people left their towels on all days without considering that other people might want to use the chairs in their absence. I woke up every morning at 6 am to save us seats—not ideal when you are on vacation. The restaurants are decent (only three places since one of them is for adults only), but we ended up having to wait for 2 hours on average because they wouldn’t take reservations. The room was spacious and the housekeeping was on task, but the resort overall needs some upkeep—a paint job, some attention to the grass (looks overgrown and patchy). The beach is packed with seaweeds but you can ignore the messiness of it for the gorgeous sunrise. The bars close at 5 pm and the only drinks service after that is the lobby bar (drinks are ok, the folks working there are super nice and attentive). My kids enjoyed access to games, and thanks to Alonso at the core zone, they had a lot of fun competing in different activities. Overall, this is a nice place to stay but not a luxury resort at any measure. Don’t bother paying extra for the preferred club, other than a private check in and some snacks, it is not worth it (couldn’t even get coffee at 6 am since it doesn’t open until 8 am). Oh, and please have your bathing suits handy on arrival, the hospitality room which in other hotels is an actual room is nothing but a regular bathroom. No space and comfort to handle luggage—there were so many people waiting when we arrived (we got their at 11 and rooms are not ready until 3 pm) that I had to change in the general bathroom. That day, we spend 2 hours going around the pool trying to find place to sit. Not the most fun thing to do or the best first impression. But we got blessed with great weather and tried to ignore the inconveniences. So in closing, this was a nice place, but it didn’t live up to our expectations of the Dreams brand (previous preferred club gave us access to a butler, reservations, VIP drinks and all around private attention that made everything amazing!)

We were at the NS from 5 to 15 January as a couple.

Staff.
Excellent, from front desk, waiters to maid service. One thing that could be improved is turned down service done after 7pm. They would generally do this in the afternoon!

Dining
Cibu and French were outstanding. Asian and Grill were good. We did not try the Mexican. You generally have to be patient and wait if you want access to the a la carte restaurants. Buffet was extremely small and lacking in variety. You had to ask waiters for butter, salt and pepper and food items like bacon which was rarely available at the buffet. They would go and get food for you directly from the kitchen if you asked.
Bars
Very poor alcohol selection for non preferred guests. I have seen better in Cuba and other much less expensive resorts. We drink very little alcohol so it did not affect us too much. House wine with lunch and dinner was OK. There is a so called mediocre "sports bar" which consist of a few TVs and a couple of pool tables. No bar service during the day. It becomes a disco after 1030pm.
Café
Excellent service and coffee. We admired the patience of the ladies working there. We never saw anyone leave them a tip.
Rooms
Large and modern. No robes, slippers or hair dryer. You have to call to get those, which we found strange.
Beach and Pools.
Lovely beach but not good for swimming. The guys cleaning the beach deserve a special mention for their hard work everyday. Main pool was large but freezing and often filled with drunken guests.

Note that this a family resort with many children of all ages. It is very quiet after 11pm except for a few highly inebriated patrons.

We enjoyed our stay in spite of the issues noted but will likely not return.

Room was decent, but could use a little maintenance. Had a problem with the electronic door lock not opening (maint response was excellent) and the sink was pretty slow to drain. Like the 3 story design versus high rise, room areas were quiet. We had a beach front, swim out which was fantastic - no need to fight for chairs at the pool or on the beach. Bar service to our patio was very good. Restaurants were good, the main buffet is a little small and lacking some variety. Service was excellent. Beach was good for walking, hotel did a good job of dealing with the seaweed on a daily basis. Puerto Moreles is just a 3km walk on the beach. Huge pool with lots of daily activities. Spa was very nice but pricey.

We spent 7 days at this resort for a business trip and here's a few good and bad tips from our time spent there.

Good: Service is awesome! From the wait staff to bartenders to housekeeping, you really won't find nicer people who truly care. Food is awesome. The lunch buffet was awesome with such fresh choices of fish, pork and beef, along with any vegetable you like, there is something for everyone. It is a "Family" resort so keep that in mind if you don't care to have little ones around. 24 hour room service was quick and delicious!

Bad: Beach and Pool bars close at 5:00. This is unacceptable to us. The sun is still shining and there is fun to be had, you feel like you are at work and have to go back to your room to get a drink at 5:00. That is the worst part of this resort. The beach bar also closes at 5:00 and then guess what? Everyone goes to their room, cleans up and bombards the restaurants at 6:00 when they open to get a table. It's really ridiculous because then we get told there are 15 table ahead of us and we have to wait two hours to eat at an ala'carte restaurant. There is really nothing going on in the lobby area till later so what are you to do for all that time? We ate at the buffet except for two nights we could actually get a table. You don't feel like you are on vacation because you have to "line up" to get a table. It's a horrible way to do things and I hope the resort does better at this.

TIP: Do the bike ride to Puerto Morelos. It's fun and you get to see a quaint fishing town. Very safe.

The kids play area is very tiny but nice. I would not recommend this to anyone with kids over 8 or 9 years old.
