I was a bit shocked on the increase of prices in Barcelona. The reviews were mixed, but at the end I decided to stay in the Caledonian. If you come by aeroplane I recommend to take the Aerobus and get off at university. 2 minutes walk and you are at the hotel. Not even 2 minutes I think...My single room was on the 6th floor ( 612) and was very very quiet! The bed was simple, but good. The bathroom was suprisingly big and the shower was FANTASTIC. The hotel is located in EIXAMPLE. So lots of restaurant and bar options in the neighbourhood. Staff is very friendly and helpful! I loved my stay here. To go back to the airport it is a 5 minute walk to the bus stop. But it was the easiest and cheapest way to get to the airport. PS: the wifi was also of great quality

Stayed for three nights end of January. Comfortable, clean and helpful staff. Stayed on top floor with roof balcony. Fairly priced. Would recommend. Good bus link from airport. Plenty of cafe bars to relax after sight seeing.

Hotel is in a fantastic location, around a two minute walk from the Universatat metro, which is also one of the drop off points for the Aerobus. Its a five minute walk into Plata Catalunya, which is the centre point for everything you want to see in the city, La Rambla branches off it and also the Cathedral. The room we stayed in, 304, overlooks the main road, but with the quality of the double glazing, there was no problems with the noise. Nice little verandah, décor very good and a really good bathroom. Check in was polite and professional and the luggage room was secure. Would definitely stay again.

We had read the reviews before we booked so because of mixed reviews we took a chance. We e mailed reception before hand and requested a 6th floor room with a terrace if possible. The hotel has a kind of service road in front of it so the airport transfer minibus will drop off right at the door a lot of hotels dont they have a drop off point and you then find your own way. The man on reception was nice and we had been given room 604 which was on top floor at the back with a terrace. The room is basic but for the money it was fine. mini fridge that you could put your drink in to cool. found the air con ok. there are safes in the room you pay extra for. The placement is fantastic and metro stations a few mins walk away as well as cafe restaurants and shops. We did some day trips from julia travels and explore catalneya and both were easy to walk to from hotel for an early start. Theres a mini supermarket next door which is open early till late and good to pick up some fruit, chocolate, beer, drink crisps ect. Didnt opt for htel breakfast as there are so many places nearby to try.place was very clean, towels changed each day. shower good. bed ok. hair dryer could be better. There is a locked bag room after you checkout of room if you have afternoon or eve flight. found that all the different receptionist helpful and answered any questions we had. There are a huge amount of hotels in the city to choose from but Id say in our price range we made a good chose.

Caledonian Hotel is situated close to Universitat and easy walking distance of Placa Catalunya / La Rambla and is in a great location.

Reception staff were friendly and check in was easy and efficient. Had a double room at the back of the hotel so no road noise to report. The rooms are not well soundproofed so any noise in the corridor or adjoining room could be heard.

The bed was comfortable but the pillow on each bed was thin and not very practical, we asked for additional pillows and were given something more like cushions than pillows. Not very good.

Sadly the hotel appears not to have any effective pest control, especially against mosquitos. We woke each morning to find that we have been bitten to death by residents in the room in addition to ourselves. This could so easily have been prevented by the hotel having each room sprayed on changeover. Very dissappointing and we have a lot of nasty bites as a souvenir of our stay.

Overall the room was OK, slightly dated with the browns and creams and a bit dull. No tea or coffee facilities in the room but there is a minibar.

this is a very good hotel for a reasonable price considering the central location, close to metro station. The room was spotless newly refurbished, very good bathroom, great shower. The stuff was very polite and helpful with everything we needed. The bed was comfortable but a second pillow was needed. Heating in the room was more than adequate as outside temperature was low especially late night.Breakfast quite good, nice cakes great coffee. All in all this a very satisfactory hotel just for a very few nights, visiting this lovely city.

was needed. Heating in the room was very satisfactory as outside temperature was quite low especially late night.

A really nice hotel in Barcelona. We stayed there 4 nights and we liked it. It's close to the city center and to the Ramblas. We hadn't paid for the breakfast, but then we took it just for 8€! The receptionists recommended us where to go and what to visit in Barcelona. We made a good choice!

Hi, I don't remember an iron in the room, but they can probably supply one. They do have a laundry service. As Yas46 suggested why not give them a ring, they all seemed to speak good English +34 93 453 02 00.
