Seriously, keep looking for accommodation in Barcelona, there are 100 better places than this closer to la rambles, and I bet the staff would be 10 times more helpful and polite!

We unfortunately stayed here for 4 nights in September 2016, I had booked a double room with terrace, and paid for it mind you, only to arrive and be given a room on the first floor the size of a shoe box with a tiny window, no terrace, no balcony, nothing! When I returned to the front desk to confirm my reservation had not been mistaken I was told "no there are no more rooms left" and "there is no guarantee of a terrace".......but you were happy enough to take my money for a room with a terrace weren't you!! He then told me to check tomorrow if a room was free.

So, the next day I ventured down to the front desk to request another room as he had advised, only to overhear the exact same conversation being had with another customer!! "There is no guarantee of a terrace".

Seriously keep looking for accommodation in Barcelona, aside from the above, the hotel is old, the mattress is covered in hard plastic, and you only get one very thin little pillow. The rooms are dark and dingy, and the aircon wasn't cold.

If I could give this hotel less than 0 I would! Keep looking for accommodation in Barcelona!!!

We arrived between 10.30 and 11 p.m. the reception staff on duty were very welcoming and friendly even at this hour. Unfortunately the lift was not working but the staff showed us to the staff lift which then took us up to the 6th floor and room 601. the room was large with a huge balcony with table and chairs. We were on the road side but had no trouble at all with traffic noise either morning or night time. Hotel location is good and just a 10 minute walk will take you to the Hop on/Hop off bus stops for tours of the city. There are three routes. We did two of them and they were excellent with commentary.Had excellent weather so had coffees/snacks etc. outside but late evenings when we like a nightcap on our way back to Hotel were advised at the bars no service outside after midnight. A shame if it is a balmy evening. Loved the city, walked out feet off for three days and hope to go back again sometime. Good breakfast and lift working again on our first morning.

Caledonian hotel has a great location near the La Ramblas, without the noise of the busy street. We stayed in a room
which was very silent. The rooms with the balcony on the Grand
Via was a bit noisy, but you are on the road then !

The breakfast was good with all the necessary things (we did not find butter for the toast, but it was a minor issue) and the helpful staff guided us with all the relevant informations.

We reached the hotel by Metro from the airport and not at all a problem to search out the hotel. The reception staff will guide you with the Metro very nicely. The rooms were clean with a bathtub, necessary after a hard days' walking ! Highly recommended for travellers to Barcelona ! Oh, before I forget the wifi is good with no crack/buffering !

We were given a superior room on the top floor with a nice patio balcony with a great view of the street below and the city. Was pretty quite all week until Friday night when it became quite noisy with sirens in particular. Otherwise the hotel was great, close to everything, lovely breakfast and very friendly desk staff. We would return but only with a high up room again.
