The Wigwam Hotel garners praise for its charming atmosphere and attentive service, though it occasionally falls short with slow responses. While the amenities are generally celebrated, including comfortable accommodations and a variety of activities, the limited pool hours and service delays are noteworthy drawbacks. Guests have mixed feelings about the value, pointing out unexpected fees and pricey features. Rooms vary from modern comforts to those needing an update, and while cleanliness is typically satisfactory, some areas show signs of age. The location elicits divided opinions, balancing tranquility with occasional inconvenience from traffic.

Recently spent a fun, romantic weekend here. Our experience at both pools, in each of the restaurants, and around the grounds were nothing short of wonderful.

Steven Rasmussen on the food and beverage team was on duty in both pools, seemingly simultaneously, and in the Wigwam bar/restaurant. Steven was attentive and congenial with every question we had and accommodating at every turn.

Jackie in the Wigwam bar both Saturday and Sunday was warm, attentive, and made our experience memorable in a number of ways that make us anxious to return.

Our room was perfectly manicured upon our arrival and served as a welcome sanctuary after spending a few fun & relaxing hours at the pools where Hallie and Christopher tended to our food and beverage orders.

We enjoyed dinner at Red's both nights--the menu and service were carefully curated to appeal to diners in the mood for any craving. Both evenings on the patio at the Wigwam bar provided a cool, comfortable setting and respite from the southwestern summer heat.

We cannot wait to return!

My wife and I and our two college-age daughters spent three nights at the Wigwam in July 2020. The resort has a unique vibe. It is a historic property with a lot of character. We rented a two-room suite that was enormous. The bathroom was large with two sinks which was nice with a large walk-in closet where we kept our luggage out of the way. Our visit occurred during the highpoint of COVID 19 so the nice restaurant on site (Litchfields) was not open and one of the pool bars was not open. We all got messages and my daughter got her haircut in the salon. The massages were great and my daughter was satisfied with her haircut. I gave the resort an overall 4 out of 5 because not all the food options were open and the exercise center was not open due to COVID 19. The resort is old, but has been relatively well maintained. It is showing its age in a few places, but that is to be expected in a historic resort. My whole family agreed we would probably go back there again.

We appreciate you taking a moment to share your feedback. Despite some setbacks, we're thrilled you had such a pleasant experience with us; from our spacious and comfortable accommodations to the special treatment from our staff! Unfortunately, in light of COVID-19 and for the safety of all our guests, some of our amenities and services might have had limited availability during your stay and we appreciate your understanding of the circumstances. Attended a convention hosted by The Wigwam with my family. This is a beautiful vintage resort with all the amenities (golf, tennis, spa, dining, etc). Our room was spacious with a large bathroom and closet. I’m sure the room had been renovated at some point judging by the modern bathroom fixtures, flat screen television. The room could have been cleaner. I found dust on the night stand and on the bathroom vent. Two of the windows were single pane which doesn’t offer much insulation against the summer heat. Maid service is only every third day, but housekeeping will exchange towels anytime upon request. Overall stay was nice, but for a nightly rate that was north of $200, my expectations were fairly high and the value is just not there. I would probably not stay here unless I was interested in the resort activities.

Our family of six spent 6 nights in two rooms at the resort. The main building was clean and nicely decorated for the holidays and the fire pit areas outside were awesome.

Our rooms were fine... just fine. They need some love and attention honestly. Staff seemed friendly but with Covid, limited contact. The mattresses could stand to be replaced for sure- one at least seemed to totally sink into the middle. The non-fitted bottom sheets came off every night, exposing the mattress, and mattress pad would bunch up under the sheet. One room had stains on the ceiling above a bed.

Both rooms showers drained VERY SLOWLY- not a fan of standing in a pool of water when showering. Grout in shower, around the window especially, was cracked and rusty looking. I'm sure the room was clean, but it didn't FEEL especially clean.

Outdoor space (directly outside the rooms) could use some attention as well... maybe a pair of chairs rather than one with the table, patio sweeping, updated paint where chipped. The general grounds were lovely with the seasonal decorations though.

With two rooms we paid double the added "resort fee" for our stay... unfortunately not sure what we received for that honestly, other than an additional charge. Especially since Covid seemed to limit many services, including house keeping, which was done once during our 6 nights.

It was nice to see the sun and blue skies in the winter; love the Phoenix area and the family together time, however our rooms needed a little attention/updating. Was just hoping for a bit more with the accommodations.

We stayed here 4 nights while attending a wedding in the area. We were told we could book at a special rate through Expedia. Given that our unit was the center of a cluster and with no golf course view, I suspect Expedia clients get the worst rooms. Even so, the room was good sized and the park-like grounds were beautiful.
We had an a la cart breakfast at the Wigwam Bar and also the buffet breakfast at Red’s Bar & Grill; both were good and not too high-priced.
I think that the room prices are a bit high here, but have to admit that it was worth it to experience this older grand resort one time.

We’re delighted to know that you joined us at The Wigwam for such a special occasion, and we thank you for taking a moment to share this review. Whilst we trust that many magical memories were made due to the occasion (and please wish the happy couple congratulations from all of us), we regret that all of your high expectations were not exceeded. We apologize for any disappointment with your accommodations, but please be assured that our rooms do undergo routine maintenance and refreshing to maintain the high quality our guests have come to expect from our historic resort. With over 300 casitas and suites in a variety of sizes and types of room, our accommodations are built over multiple acres in three distinct areas of our property. We regret if you felt your placement was not the best, but without specific information regarding your exact third-party booking, we can only extend our regrets that we could not better impress. We hope that one day we will have this chance by assisting you to find your own perfect five-star accommodation with us in Litchfield Park.

We have been staying here for years and I have written several good reviews in the past. This stay was very disappointing, COVID hit this place hard! We stayed 10 days here and had one disappointment after another. The facility has gone way downhill and needs general maintenance badly. Cleaning service is only every 3 days which I understand but for the 10 days we were there they did not clean the mirrors, (they were dirty the day we checked in), ran out of soap because they did not check the dispensers. I think they only vacuumed once. There was no weather-stripping under the main door and stuff was blowing right under. We wondered when the scorpions would crawl under through the gap. You would think housekeeping would see the leaves and debris as they walked in and vacuum, NOT. The room needed a paint job, broken window with dead bugs on the sill. Even the furniture in the room is very badly worn. The grounds have deteriorated as well. The pool chars are falling apart, someone is going to be seriously hurt they are cracked, and coming apart. The tables next to the chairs are covered in old food and spilled drinks. The Jacuzzi was closed for 2 days because it was green. They only put a small sign in front of it that kids could not read or didn't pay attention to, it was just disgusting. Other than one nice lady that has been there for years in the main pool area who is still the best ever, the rest of the time I had to get our own water several times (yes we asked), and we purchased food and drinks but still didn't seem to care. The resort fee is a complete joke and I have been complaining about it for years. This time the download speed was 7-10 meg upload 2 meg. With the pool equipment, area etc. in such bad shape where does the 40 bucks a day per room go to? I will have to say the food is still pretty good. I talked to several desk managers the last one Tyler on the day we checked out gave me a sad faced "I'm so sorry" but it was obvious he didn't care. I have pictures and texts to back up my review I have added a few to this review. This used to be a great place to stay but until they get their act together I would look elsewhere. I paid a small fortune for 10 days at a resort and felt I got a dive motel.

We stayed at The Wigwam Resort for a week and enjoyed the golf facilities and staff, Litchfield's Restaurant, Red's Restaurant and great times with friends.

The black mark on our stay was when we asked for a microwave and were told it would be at an extra cost of $25 per day. For 7 nights that would have been $175 dollars for an item that should be in every suite like the one we rented! For sure it should have been in a quality resort. So, we went to Walmart and bought one for $49 and ended up giving it away at the end of our stay. The Wigwam should be ashamed to rent a suite that doesn't include one.

My husband and I are visiting to see our son and staying at the Wigwam hotel. I looked for a 4-5 star hotel in the area and this one boasted great rooms, restaurants and amenities.

The staff here is exceptional! Most are friendly, professional and accommodating. We had one experience where a staff member on Saturday morning told us we had to get coffee from the Wigwam market when the coffee was set up right in front of her at the bar. We mentioned it to our great bartender later in the evening and she said that should not happened.

Other than that the staff is exceptional.

The room we stayed in was large with a kitchen and king size bed, however, the furniture needs updating and the room smells musty all day, especially when the air comes on. The bathroom is a nice size and shower is roomy but the shower heads are old and need to be replaced.
Our balcony is large but needs cleaning (sweeping) and the furniture needs to be wiped down.
Curtains in the room are nice but the sheers are ripped and need to be replaced.

Overall we would stay again as the grounds are beautiful and staff is great .
I would ask to check out the room first next time though.

Also I hope that management would make sure all rooms are updated, cleaned, and smell fresh. They should have supervisors walk through before assigning guests to rooms.

We come here every year. The wigwam is such a great combination of relaxing and fun. Playing in the pool is my kid's favorite and the grounds are just lovely. The staff is so great. At the pool they appear just when you are looking at the menu thinking about getting some snacks, or to close your tab when you start to pack up. One night we had a reservation for a court to play tennis, but the pro-shop was closed, and we didn't have our own rackets. They sent someone over to open it up for us right away when we asked so we could use the ones they have for folks to borrow, which was really above and beyond.

This is a gorgeous resort with beautiful grounds and helpful and friendly front desk staff. The lobby of the hotel offers an old world charm that is cozy and promotes good conversation. The grounds are well groomed and offer lots of places to sit and enjoy good times with people - the outdoor fire pit was a favourite among our group. Lots of games available both inside and out. Lovely, large rooms and a private little patio to enjoy.

The pool is heated so being in the water would be fine. I would imagine you would want to dry off quick though. Sitting poolside in a wet suit might not be very enjoyable at that time!
