What nice place, super clean, cozy, modern, and sexy at the same time. Excellence service and very helpful concierge, they helped us booking a road trip to the whole north of Spain and arranged the car rental at a very good price. ( ask for Daniel )
The breakfast room is delightful and defenetely worth it!!!! :)
The hotel is tucked away from the craziness of Barcellona by not far at all from the center (10 minutes top by metro) and it is in a very elegant residential areas with few excellence restaurant ( must try "A contra Luz" just two blocks away.
Great value for money and we will be back

It takes a rare breed of hotel to get both the big things such as location, beds, noise management, shower pressure and the small things such as a personalised concierge that points you to the local haunts, breakfast, housekeeping and spatial planning, right. It takes time. It takes experience, and it takes great everyday pains from the team running the place to get it just...right.

They got it right at the Hotel Primero Primera.

It is the perfect balance of home and hotel. It is an authentic, luxurious, Barcelona living experience in the most delightful part of the city, far, far away from the spring-break that is La Ramblas. Parking is on-site and easy. The staff are fast, attentive and without the fuss of a big chain hotel. The beds are supremely comfortable. The showers are high-pressured and hot...

It was perfect for my family of 3, and yet dignified for the many business travellers I saw passing through the doors. This felt almost like someone's holiday home, except with all the comforts of a 5 start hotel.

After countless hours of research I settled on booking this hotel for my first trip to Barcelona for my honeymoon. Being it was my honeymoon I was looking for the perfect place to surprise my wife with. My research led me to Mr. & Mrs. Smith hotels and this hotel was listed as a boutique hotel meeting the Mr. & Mrs. Smith criteria. The pictures of the hotel on their official website is what sold me, including excellent reviews on Trip Advisor.

Before arriving, I called the hotel and was warmly greeted by hotel concierge Dane (pronounced Danny). I advised him I was coming for my honeymoon and anything he could do to accommodate us would be greatly appreciated.

Once we arrived there the hotel was exactly how it looked in the pictures on their website. The décor, furniture, lighting, mood and ambience was just stunning and extremely calming. This is the boutique hotel of all boutique hotels.

The second pleasant surprise was that Dane had arranged for a room upgrade since it was our honeymoon. That was the best feeling when we found out and this room was beautiful. With a view of Mount Tibidabo from our bed we couldn't ask for anything else. The room was perfectly clean and tidy and it felt like we were living in our own apartment. Even the bathroom was beautiful with a wood counter and waterfall shower. The toiletries smelled amazing. Did I mention we had access to our own mini bar in the room free of charge! (non-alcoholic). This fridge was restocked daily with various soft drinks and bottled still water.

Every day I consulted Dane on the local attractions and the commute and he was more than willing to help and his knowledge is extremely extensive. He gave perfect directions to any destination I asked and also provided us with great recommendations on tapas bars, restaurants and clubs.

The entire staff including the kitchen and cleaning staff were super nice and always smiling.

Breakfast was included in our stay and their breakfast menu is to die for. With an assortment of breads, Spanish omelet, eggs, cereal, cheese, cakes, fruits, etc. And their coffee was the best we had ever tasted with an unlimited supply. Even their dining area is extremely beautiful.

The attention to detail with the interior and exterior designing is like none I've ever seen. My wife and I are keen to style our home in the same fashion.

The hotel is in a very safe, quiet residential area and is the most expensive area in Barcelona where the elite football players live for the famous FC Barcelona. It is ideally located and is a 10 minute metro ride to the city centre. The metro and local buses are super clean and very easy to navigate. Dane and the rest of the staff will ensure proper directions to wherever you want to go and they will even provide printouts of maps.

I could go on and on about this place but in short, this hotel is just breathtaking and made my honeymoon the perfect experience.

My wife and I would like to extend our very warm gratitude to Dane and the entire staff at Hotel Primero Primera.

I highly recommend this place to any and everyone visiting Barcelona.

Sincerely,
Nadir Sheikh

We booked this hotel for the week (19 to 26 September) and selected it because it is a boutique hotel with a swimming pool with disabled facilities.
Whilst there may be some disabled facilities it is far from being disabled friendly.

I have a walking disability and we have one holiday a year which is very important to us.
The key criteria for us being that we have an activity/doing day followed by a rest/relaxing day which we usually spend at the hotel pool.

We were allocated the only disabled access room which has a wet room and is ideal for me to have a sit-down shower.
We noticed a number of things within the room that required attention.

Saturday (arrival)
There was virtually no storage space at all. There was only one wardrobe but the hanging rail is set to a height that can only accessed if you are able bodied.
There were no clothes storage cabinets, my husband had to use a piece of old office furniture to store tee shirts and my boxers; I had to use her luggage as a supplemental
storage facility.
There were no bath robes provided on arrival however, they were made available within an hour or so.
There was no safety deposit box - one was provided within the hour. Our only comment being that whilst it is lockable to prevent removal of your valuables, it is
very easy to remove the entire safety deposit box.
There was no mirror in the bedroom which meant that I had to use the mirror in the bathroom which prevented the bathroom from being used by my husband.
The swimming pool could only be accessed up a flight of 19 steps and there were no toilet facilities at this level.
The swimming pool did not have any means to enable a disabled person to safely access or egress the pool.

We discussed these points with the concierge, particularly that I wouldn't be able to use or even access the pool.
We also asked whether he could find us a wheelchair hire service.
We were assured that it would probably be possible to arrange to hire a wheelchair by the next day, Sunday.

Sunday
The hotel was unable to identify any wheelchair hire service in Barcelona and it was left to us to find something ourselves.
We managed to find something suitable on our mobile phones within 10 minutes.
The concierge then sprang into action and called the hire shop for us.
We could pick up a wheelchair from the shop or have it delivered to the hotel for a charge.
We asked that the hotel either collect the chair for us or at least pay for the delivery charge as a gesture of goodwill. They declined.
On return to the hotel we found that it was not possible to access the reception with a wheelchair.

It would be very difficult for a single person wheelchair user to access this hotel by independent means.
There is no access ramp into the main reception.
Access to the dining room is only possible by the opening of set of double doors - this doesn't appear to be possible by a wheelchair user.
Access to the reception and/or the disabled access room involved being left on my own in front of a separate access door whilst my husband had to walk around to the reception and through the ground floor to open the door and let me in.
There is also an unpaved section which made it very difficult to push a wheelchair over it without extreme discomfort to myself.

Monday
Spoke with hotel manager and demonstrated the problems we were having and the problems other people in a wheelchair would experience.

We were offered access to a local sports facility which they would pay for.
It was just unfortunate that the sports facility didn't get this message, although we did have this charge refunded to us.
The sports facility was fantastic as a sports facility but terrible as a relaxing oasis that we were expecting.
It was a 20 minute walk/push downhill and a 30 minute push back to the hotel.
We used it once and spent every day of our holiday in/around Barcelona town centre.

The hotel manager was very apologetic and indicated that disabled access to the pool would be provided when they complete the planned modifications to the first floor.

We asked them to change their wesbsite to make it clear that access to the pool an in/out of the pool was not possible for wheelchair users.
As of today (2015-10-11) they have not done so.

We cannot recommend this hotel.

Stayed the hotel with family, three of us in one room. Overall, good atmosphere and pretty worth staying.

The clerks are kind and basically well trained. Although there's no independent concierge desk, you can ask the reception for any touristic information. They can print out tickets you book in the Internet.

The room interior is sophisticated in chic and peaceful tone. You can enjoy staying in the room as well as small garden with pool or bar and cafe space where you can enjoy complementary soft drinks and coffees during the day.

It seems it's their policy of operation not to put so many clerks, as seen in no concierge (mentioned above) nor walking around service by waiter/waitress at morning buffet, which may make you feel something different from standard 5 star hotels like service but I liked the style as well.

Stayed in superior room (twin bed with one extra bed) for 2 nights in May 2015 by around 260EUR/night including extra guest fee of around 34EUR/night and taxes.
