This is an amazing boutique hotel with such attention to detail and incredible value. All the hotel areas are tastefully decorated including the bedrooms. Leather sofas and quirky furniture so cosy and relaxing.
Free soft drinks in your room, free coffee /tea and snacks 24/7 in a beautiful lounge area - oh and nearly forgot the honesty bar which is always fully stocked.
The staff were all very pleasant and helpful too. Do not be put off due to it not being in city centre as the metro is 5 mins walk away and you can get a T10 ticket that gives you 9 trips into the city for 10 euros and takes under 10 mins. So best of both worlds as I can guarantee you won't get a hotel like this for your money in the centre.
What's not to lot to love .... I'll be back!

Primero Primera is a unique hotel in the "Les Tres Torres" section of Barcelona. It is not in the busy tourist section affording it a quiet and residential atmosphere. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful. The property is unique in architectural design, gardens, and pool area. Parrots fly and perch in the gardens. Though it is not in the center of town, both the metro(subway) and busses are within a few minutes walk and can whisk you away to all the major neighborhoods and attractions. A combined menu is available all day and evening if you want to eat in the hotel or if you prefer, room service is available. We had a very nice stay in this unique building.

Dear Rosemary, I would like to thank you for your great comment about our staff and the services at the hotel. Our main aim is that the guests have the best experience possible. We are glad you enjoyed the neighborhood and appreciated the fact that we are only 10 minutes away from the center by metro. We look forward to welcoming you again soon. My wife and I stayed here in late December for three nights and had a wonderful time. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood a bit outside of town but easily accessible via subway to downtown Barcelona. We stayed in a loft-style room on the top level and it was incredibly spacious and comfortable.

The front desk staff were very helpful throughout our stay with any questions or needs we had. When we blew a fuse in our room they were quick to have someone come in and fix it.

Breakfast buffet is good though nothing remarkable. The room where you have breakfast is impressive though.

Barcelona is known for its artistic style and has a "bohemian elegance" to it that is perfectly exemplified in this hotel. If you value quiet comfort and high style for prices that are not outlandish, Hotel Primero Primera is a good pick.

I spent a lot of time researching where to stay in Barcelona for our anniversary trip. I was struggling to find somewhere we could hide & relax after a busy day sightseeing, as it transpired the week we were going there would be a huge pharmaceutical convention on, and many of the cheaper places closer to the centre were already booked months in advance. I found this hotel via the Mr & Mrs Smith website so I knew it would be brilliant. It was their last room. Phew!

What a gorgeous hotel. Its beautifully decorated, with an exclusive yet warm and inviting feel. Our favourite rooms were the breakfast/bar/lounge areas. I could sit in there all day with a coffee and a book.

Our room was in the attic, it was spacious and cosy all at the same time. Very comfortable and a great shower! Wifi was a bit iffy up in the top floor, its better downstairs. Even though we had one of the cheaper rooms it was excellent! I'd love to stay in one of the bigger rooms as the online photos look incredible - like something out of Mad Men in the 50's.

Breakfast was insanely good. Fresh and tasty, lots of buffet items and great coffee! Loved the crockery too! Oh and lovely touch being able to help ourselves to soft drinks and snacks too. We also got some cakes in our room to celebrate our anniversary. Much appreciated and really, really good.

Check in and check out was easy and reception staff were friendly and really helpful.

Highly recommend this hotel - its in a great spot. Looks a little way out on the map but its really quick to get to Las Ramblas via the metro. Metro Tres Torres is only a few minutes walk away and it felt like a safe neighbourhood.

Great value for money if you stay in a standard room. I would definitley stay here again without hesitation and upgrade to a bigger room if available for a special treat without a doubt!

As other reviewers have said, this is indeed a wonderful boutique hotel. Think: The Four Seasons meets B&B. The hotel is a renovated apartment building in a upscale suburb; everything pristine and high end without being at all stuffy. The staff, across the board, were fantastic. I wrote many email requests (reservations, directions, etc) prior to our visit. Each were answered quickly, and every request cheerfully done. Letter perfect service continued during our visit. High kudos to the staff there.

Having the public areas (patios, study, breakfast room, library) is great. The complimentary drinks (water, coffe/tea, soda) were a nice touch. I think they have cut back on 24/7 snacks since the first reviews started - but there was a bowl of apples and tinned cookies always available. Internet was weak at times, but not an extra charge. The buffet breakfast in the mornings was quite nice - no hot items, other than beverages, but the right amount of tasty, fresh options I felt.

We booked a room (via Mr. and Mrs. Smith) for 3, and received a Junior Suite, which was spacious, well appointed, and had a balcony, which we enjoyed. The downside to this room (for 3 people), was that the chaise lounge in the sitting room was used as the extra bed. It's in a awkward place, sitting at an angle, with total views of the (nice, large, glass windowed) bathroom. Not the best solution, but was a minor blip to an overall good stay.

As others have also said, you do need to consider the location. We'd have a full day of touring "down" in Barcelona, and would get back to the hotel exhausted. I can't tell you how many dinner reservations we cancelled, because we just didn't have the energy to go back into town. There a decent recent options near the hotel - but we were disappointed to have not tried some of the restaurants we had on our list. On the nights we picked ourselves up, the staff easily and quickly arranged cabs, which cost around 8-10 euros each way.

All and all, I highly recommend Hotel Primero Primera, for the restful, safe location, beautiful facility, amenities, and fantastic service. Well done.

We had a large one bedroom apartment on the second floor. The bathroom had a solid door, not a glass partition. The bathroom was very spacious and nice, with separate areas for the tub and the shower. Plenty of privacy. I don't recall the exact amount we pain per night but it was more than 300 euros, but not a lot more as I recall, and we thought it was a great value. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. I hope we get to go back again some day.

Actually, you can upgrade to a deluxe room with a terrace, & should be enough room for 2 adults, sleeping together, and another room w/ a comfortable cot, which can accomodate 2 children around 7, sleeping, head to feet. However, it may be a little narrow. It really depends on the sleeing habits of the children, I would not want them to fall out of bed. I would ask the hote, they are very responsive w/ emails. I am sure you will enjoy your stay. It is off the beaten path, but well worth it. One of the best we stayed in during our 3 1/2 weeks in several European countries. I do not remember seeing children there, but I am sure they are welcome. I hope this was helpful to you & enjoy your trip! Ken
