The hotel is in the middle of a medical district about 15 mins tube ride and 5 mins walk from the centre of town.

The room (a suite) was very spacious, modern & clean.

TV channels limited for English speaking, Tea making facilities OK but the offer of free soft drinks (cokes fanta water and even a beer) was unusual but welcome.

The reception staff were excellent and very helpful. (esp Daphne)

I mentioned the hotel was a bit out of town but this is a positive when you consider how quiet it was.

Breakfast was adequate but again a bit limited choice of 3 or 4 fruits, yoghurt, rolls and cereal being a bit repetitive for a 4 day stay.

The hotel had an honesty bar which we didn't avail ourselves of (honest) mainly because we were out a lot. However it was still a relaxing place to sit and read.

The last day was spoiled for me as I had my wallet stolen at the Cathedral square, but again Daphne was a great help when we returned to the hotel.

I think I would return again as I guess we prefer comfort and quiet above all else and Barcelona was splendid for 3 of the 4 days we were there.

Absolutely wonderful hotel in a nice area near the Sarria. Very antique feel but with all modern amenities and very clean. Excellent bathroom and bed is extremely comfortable. Nothing but good things to say about the hotel including the free mini bar in the room as well as another in the computer room.
Staff was wonderful and even went beyond that. All the places we stayed at in Spain were very nice and highly rated but we liked this best. Plenty of nice places to eat in the area in just about any direction you choose to go.

We stayed last week to celebrate our anniversary and I have to say it is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. I work the hotel business myself so I was excited to have a get away at a lovely hotel and it did not disappoint! The hotel is beautifully designed and all perfectly cleaned. All the staff we came across where friendly and helpful. When we arrived we got told we had received a comp upgrade which was a nice surprise, along with free arrival drinks and homemade cake. The room has a minibar with free soft drinks that are topped up daily, complementary bottles of cold water by the pool and some snacks and tea and coffee by the lounge. All these nice touches make for such a lovely experience at the hotel. The breakfast is also faultless.

The hotel is in a good location as its less than 10 minutes on the metro to the city and some of the other main attractions are out of the centre anyway and only a short bus journey away.

Thank you to all the staff for a lovely staff. I would recommend it to anyone staying in Barcelona and will definitely be back!

We stayed at the Primero Primera for a special occasion and didn't regret the decision one bit! We flew in from India after battling a flood like situation, we we had to literally abandon our waterlogged car and wade through waist deep water! We arrived very tired and stressed from the experience and quiet sad to have started off on a trip to celebrate a special occasion, in such a traumatic way! But it was like we arrived in an oasis! The area is just so clean and lovely, very high end residential area. The hotel itself outstanding! We were welcomed by the smell of peonies in the reception and a lovely complimentary snack bar with croissants and coffee to fuel ourselves.
Totally loved the idea of the complimentary snack bar, filled with all kinds of soft drinks, fruit, water, tea, coffee and croissants...... It felt like home! They also have a Mac desktop and a selection of books in the snack bar area.
The staff was very attentive and helpful to all our requests. They even directed us to a pizza place close by for a late lunch (La Fermata). The area is very nice and peaceful, without the commotion, tourist traffic and dirt of the centre..... Of course of you want to be in the thick of things, this might not be so convenient. We took cabs everywhere, which did prove a little expensive but figured it was just more comfortable and faster...... For eg:-€14 to Parc Guell, €18/19 to villa Olympic, €8 to Plaza Espana and €14 to the Gothic Quarter(Top of Argenteria )
The breakfast was also very nice. It was quiet compact, but not In a way where u felt there was something missing. It was just right, with a little bit of everything...cereal, fruit, beverage, pastries, bread, cheese, juice, Spanish omelet, eggs to order and good staff that would certainly make your day a good start!:)
We had two suites and totally loved them! The best part of the rooms ,I thought were the showers, they were soo good!
The only reason I have rated it very good and not excellent, is because in both our rooms there were these little white bugs we discovered on the carpet. They could be anywhere and in anything and you wouldn't have a clue. It was strange and creepy. When I called the reception they came and vaccumed both rooms immediately! But there were some still left behind, wish I had taken a picture. My Mom was totally freaked out by them. They looked like lint or just some specks in the carpets, only when u look real close do u realize they are living and moving things!
I had told them time and again that we were coming on the trip to celebrate a special occasion, my Dads 60th birthday! We stayed there on his birthday and I wish they done something a little more special for him on that day, would have made it such a memorable experience.......They put a couple of brownies in the room, but in my opinion that didn't quiet cut it.... Most hotels we have stayed in are very thoughtful about occasions, and such a special one not being duly celebrated by a appropriate token from them, a little disappointed:(.....

But however, cannot take away anything else from the hotel. Lovely hotel, helpful staff and and a peaceful stay! Would most definitely recommend :)

Lovely little hotel - we had an apartment room for us and 3 kids - lovely room well laid out, lovely fresh breakfasts, helpful staff, honesty bar and little pool for a quick plunge for the kids in the heat of the day. Would definitely recommend.
