Primero Primera is a unique hotel in the "Les Tres Torres" section of Barcelona. It is not in the busy tourist section affording it a quiet and residential atmosphere. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful. The property is unique in architectural design, gardens, and pool area. Parrots fly and perch in the gardens. Though it is not in the center of town, both the metro(subway) and busses are within a few minutes walk and can whisk you away to all the major neighborhoods and attractions. A combined menu is available all day and evening if you want to eat in the hotel or if you prefer, room service is available. We had a very nice stay in this unique building.

Me and my wife stayed with our 2 yr old at this hotel for 4 nights recently and had a lovely time !

The hotel is in the neighbourhood of Sarria, which is away from the city centre but only 10 minutes on the metro (The metro itself is just a 5 min walk away).

The staff here are pleasant, friendly and we had a fantastic service. Particular mention should go to Susanna (during breakfast) and Juan in the bar.

A negative, if it could be, was that the room service menu and the breakfast could do with more options (especially the breakfast with some hot options would have been nice).

But overall, we had a great time at this hotel and would definitely recommend it !

Located in suburban Barcelona, Hotel Primero Primera is a quiet, stylish and comfortable base to explore the city.
We stayed for 2 nights in mid-December. Arriving in the city via Sants train station, we took a 15 minute taxi ride to the hotel. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived and checked in without any delay. The room was more like a suite with an entrance hall (containing lots of storage space, room safe, tea / coffee making facilities as well as his and hers full length mirrors!). The room was very large with a King size bed, long comfortable sofa, bed side tables and a writing desk, and there was still a lot of space to walk around. The room overlooked the back garden.
The bathroom was a reasonable size with a big walk in shower and an expansive wall mirror. It also had a window to the garden meaning there was no shortage of natural light in the bathroom. We had no problems with the water pressure or temperature during our short stay.
The nearest metro station is Les Tres Tores, which is 3 blocks from the hotel and just over 5 minutes walking time. As the streets in this part of Barcelona are laid out in a grid, even the directionally challenged will find the train station without too much difficulty. My one concern about the Tres Tores station is that it lies on line 6 of the Barcelona metro. Line 6 is operated by FGC and not TMB, so the result is that in order to travel to the main tourist sites in Barcelona, it is necessary to travel to Plaza Catalunya first and then change to one of the other metro lines. It is not a huge inconvenience since most tourists will usually start exploring the city from Plaza Catalunya anyway, but the Tres Tores station does lack the flexibility of some of the stations on the train lines operated by TMB (i.e. lines 1 – 4).
We had breakfast on both days. It is served as a buffet and is well laid out in the beautiful breakfast room (it is like a living room). I found the range of options to be somewhat limited, but probably standard for most Spanish restaurants (i.e. lots of bread, lots of hams, lots of fruit, etc.). We even tried room service one evening and although we were not expecting a lot, we were actually quite impressed with the food. The chicken curry was surprisingly good, although it is definitely a Spanish chicken curry!
We found the staff in reception to be friendly and helpful at all times. As we arrived at the hotel, having just checked out of another hotel in Madrid, we had a lot of laundry. The staff happily took all items and returned them to us ahead of schedule.
We found the reception, stairs and the hall outside our room to be a little dark. In fact the walls of the hall were painted black. This seemed a strange choice given how stylish the rooms are (not to mention the beautiful breakfast room and bar) but it did not detract from our stay in any way.
I lived in Barcelona a few years ago and this was my first journey back to the city in 6 years. I didn’t live anywhere near Hotel Primero Primera during my time there, but that was my loss. I was certainly happy to call it home for 2 days on this visit and will happily return the next time I am fortunate enough to visit Barcelona.

We have just returned from staying at this fantastic property and I felt compelled to submit a review. Before you read further, there are two things you should know 1) before booking this hotel I spent HOURS and HOURS reading the reviews for the huge number of hotels in Barcelona (so if you're a trusting soul, just read this review and save yourself the time :) ) and 2) I'm ridiculously fussy (in a good way though...lol). This hotel was probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in throughout then world - I travel lots for work so have a good base to judge from). In Barcelona you are certainly not spoilt for choice, which makes a decision very challenging.

The two receptionists we met, Marta and Dafne were just awesome and made us feel very welcome immediately. They were always both very sweet to my daughter, who can be a chatterbox. Once checked in we were taken on a tour of the property to introduce us to the various facilities and then escorted to our room. Most places might point you to the lift if you're lucky. They even gracefully indulged us in our meagre attempts at speaking spanish. The property itself is divine, with gorgeous architecture and interior design. There are lots of various rooms on the ground floor to relax, eat, lounge etc..

Here's what you need to know:

1. I booked directly with the hotel. The team were very responsive, helpful and tolerant of my 1001 questions. We stayed 2 nights initially, and then returned for one night after spending 5 days in Costa Brava.
2. The rooms are lovely. We booked a Junior Suite specifically because I wanted a separate area to put my 5 year old daughter to bed, so my husband and I could lounge in the room or sit on terrace. We were upgraded to a Suite (XL) for the first stay and then to an Apartment (!) for our final night. Very spoilt and very lucky. Both rooms were absolutely amazing and clean, spacious and well appointed.
3. The hotel offers a free mini-bar service (non alcoholic beverages) both in your room and throughout the hotel (also provide cakes and biscuits). Alcohol is also available on a honor system based on consumption on ground floor. There are also a number of Nespresso machines throughout the property where you can help your self to coffee.
4. The breakfast is really lovely. Good selections of cereals, meats, breads, fresh fruit, cheeses etc.. Certainly more than enough to start the day. Staff here were great too.
5. The pool itself is small (but more than adequate unless you want to swim laps), but the outdoor area is lovely (and huge) with pool lounges around the pool, and day lounges spread throughout the garden (which is also beautiful). There is a free mini-bar service here also, towels provided too.
6. WiFi great both in rooms and throughout the property, including garden and pool area.
7. Uncover parking if you need it
8. The hotel is located in a small, what I'd consider up-market suburb, Les Torres. This was the one apprehension I had when I booked as I was concerned it might be too far out of the action. Not so at all! In fact, I loved the location (we walked the streets to take in the atmosphere and architecture of the suburb). The metro is a short walk (and easy for a public transport avoider like me) to navigate to anywhere in the city. We also caught cabs a few times from various places (Las Ramblas, Gothic Quarter) etc., and it was never more than 8-10 euro. Having not been to Barcelona before I really had no idea of the layout of the city. I thought the location was perfect for us. Having said that, if you're young (I'm early 40s but young at heart) and want to be in the thick of the hustle and bustle and noise, then this is not the right location. However, I loved being able to retreat back here after the craziness of the busier areas to somewhere quieter. Suited us perfectly. Most important point here is it was not hard to get to the major sites, etc., at all. Taxis are quick to the hotel when booked too!
9. The room service menu is limited compared to some large hotels but it is a great selection, and lets face it, most guests would rarely eat in the hotel at night. We got stuck on our second night when our daughter refused to wait up after her siesta and we spent a lovely night in. Limited, yes; delicious and good value, definitely.
10. Lovely little shopping strip with restaurants, supermarkets (and an amazing organic one...like I've never seen before) are just a 10 minute stroll away (with small child if you had one in tow like us)
11. They also provide electric bike hire from the hotel, will book tickets for you for the sites, taxis, change your pillows, etc., etc..

In short....BRILLIANT experience and will absolutely stay at this hotel again when we return to Barcelona!

Thank you Marta and Dafne for giving us a wonderful experience. My very best to you.

Dog and people friendly, this chic boutique hotel while located a ways out of the central city, aims to please. Parking, pool, terraces, large spaces and great bathtub, what's not to like? We had the "apartment" which was very spacious, separate bedroom, and the best bathtub in a very long time. The other room was also quite large with a lovely terrace. Breakfast was delicious, sitting in a garden and room service was prompt and efficient. The server even helped with a string of pearls that didn't want to cooperate. The bar/library area was very comfortable, and the atmosphere was very Zen, complete with candles everywhere. Downside is lots of taxis, a bit stingy with the amenities unless asked, and the air conditioning was not so great in the one room. Upon check out the internet was down (a lot), but, no matter, the bill finally found us in Marseilles. The other guests were sophisticated, social, and loved to have conversations on many topics. Hey, what do we know, 'we are from Barcelona."
