This time last week, I was kindly invited to the very first Secrets from a Coach event and live podcast recording. The #podcast hosted by wellness coach Debbie Green at WISHFISH COACHING AND DEVELOPMENT LTD and TEDx speaker Laura Thomson-Staveley at Phenomenal Training helps listeners to thrive and maximise their potential in the evolving workplace. The fun and interactive live podcast event showcased a series of inspirational speakers who shared their insights into the world of work, leadership and successful careers into 2030... There were a lot of laughs too! A few key learnings included: 1. Looking ahead to 2030, how will technology impact our careers? As we plan ahead and review our career goals, it’s important to consider what essential skills you’ll have above and beyond what generative AI and its technology counterparts deliver. What will your career look like in a world driven by AI? 2. AI is less good at building quality relationships with people, thinking outside the box and being creative – now is the time to hone those human skills that AI will struggle to replicate. 3. We need to invest in the younger people in our industries – due to Covid and hybrid working they’ve had less exposure to good working practices, supportive managers or opportunities to upskill. They’re also struggling with having a positive mindset about their futures. It’s time to take care of and invest in the next generation of leaders. 4. Not everyone is good at being a leader! Leadership takes a special kind of person. 5. Adaptability, empathy and creating an environment where people can grow and lead is key to our future career success. As well as encouraging an inclusive, supportive, accountable and creative culture for a productive and happy workplace. Also, I’d highly recommend tuning into the Secrets from a Coach podcast. Lasting a snackable 30 minutes, making it ideal for the commute, lunch break or even a well-deserved break for self-care and development, it offers practical learning based on current realities. A brand-new episode is published every Friday lunchtime, focusing on positive actions to help you thrive and maximise your potential in the ever-evolving workplace, and in life. Tune via Spotify or Buzzsprout. https://lnkd.in/eBKxJrx Huge thank you to the team - including Karl Green and Gail Timmins! Photos by the very talented Chris Lobina. 📸
