Ongoing voting for brands on the Consumers Value Awards portals, consumers expressed brand satisfaction with their votes. Over 40 categories of brands are listed based on consumers’ nominations on the Consumers Value Awards portal for voting as Value-for-Money brands in the 2024 edition of the award. Consumers cast votes for brands to express satisfaction among various brands. Presenting the one-month result, Akonte Ekine, CEO of BrandXchange, said the initiative is transparent and objective. Agency vs. Corporate: This question constantly rears its head throughout a marketer’s career. Which side of the fence do you fall on? Traditionally, diversity in media was viewed through a narrow lens — focusing on broad ethnic categories, like Hispanic, Asian, or African American — but it fails to paint the full picture, excluding key components of what makes a person who they are. Today, true diversity in advertising goes beyond ethnicity and encompasses a person's unique perspective, shaped by their values, experiences, and cultural backgrounds. This shift necessitates a move away from the binary of "general market" versus "minority-targeted" advertising. Diverse audiences are growing so fast that the general market is no longer “general” at all. With the American population rapidly diversifying and a multicultural majority expected in the coming decades, advertisers need a powerful solution to reach these growing demographics authentically. #PrideMonth celebrations are just around the corner! 🥳 ️‍🌈‎ Pride is a time to be proud and—for brand leaders—it’s also a time to be prepared. Our Corporate Reputation practice and Prism ERG (supporting Praytell’s LGBTQIA+ teammates) prepared three tips for brand’s that want to activate during Pride. Stay tuned for more tips later this month! ✔️Equity Remains Front and Center. Brands that want to activate for Pride month should be prepared to acknowledge their own health insurance, gender-affirming care, and parental leave offerings. Employees are a brand’s best advocate, and internal support systems should be designed to support and empower a diverse set of employees.  ✔️Put That Money Where Your Mouth Is. If your brand is eager to capitalize on Pride, first consider supporting organizations that are advocating for and protecting the community’s essential rights, safety, and belonging — both locally and nationally. Rainbows and pride-themed products are a well-intended gesture, but ultimately, brand actions (and donations) can directly empower the LGBTQIA+ community. ✔️ It’s SO Much More Than June. Pride is an awesome month to step up, but it isn’t the only time to recognize and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community. Trans Day of Visibility is in March. Portland hosts its Pride parade in July. National Coming Out Day is in October. Brands should think outside the box and consider what activism and outreach campaigns look like throughout the year.
