Stop Talking: The Silent Revolution in Team Workshops 🚀 I participated in a transformative workshop led by our brilliant Scale Up coach, Lorenz Hartung, at Internet Up GmbH (see video below). We delved into the critical processes within our rapidly growing company, employing the ingenious "How to Make Toast" method by Tom Wujec. Here’s a glimpse of what we did: 🔸 Silent Collaboration: For the first 30 minutes, we worked in complete silence using Post-its to outline our "Product Launch-to-Cash" process. AWS Summit 2024 in Berlin!🇩🇪 In search of non GenAI topics.🕵️♂️ Last week I was at the AWS Summit with some #Brose colleagues. Once again, the Summit was fully booked. The location was great, but at its limits. 🏁Goals for me this year were: 1️⃣not only GenAI . Yes, to take a GenAI topic with me, but above all to look out for other topics. 2️⃣Exchange with well-known AWS employees and Partners. 3️⃣Strengthening the Brose internal exchange on AI, but also other topics from the AWS cosmos. I think it went quite well, the following topics were highlights for me: 🔝A presentation on Digital Robotic Workforce, how robots are sfinding their way into companies. 🔝A presentation on the DevOps platform at BMW and how professional software development is carried out there. 🔝A presentation on SAP on AWS, what can/should you expect? How complex would be a migration aso. 🔝A presentation on serverless vs. containers, when is the best time to use what. A very good exchange with AWS, partners and the internal Brose team. These are the new figures for German e-commerce - HDE Online Monitor 2024 📊 54 percent of German e-commerce sales were generated via online marketplaces in 2023 - according to the HDE in the new edition of its Online Monitor 2024. My great Co-Founder Ingrid Lommer already posted the detailed figures to this: https://lnkd.in/daTR5H-j The data from the Online Monitor is always a perfect basis to look at the marketplacebusiness in Germany. It simply shows at a glance how incredibly dominant Amazon is in German e-commerce - and how difficult it is to do without online marketplaces in the sales mix. But let's start from the beginning: according to the study presented a few weeks ago by Handelsverband Deutschland e.V. (HDE) and IFH COLOGNE, German e-commerce turnover in 2023 was 85.4 billion euros, around 1 percent more than in the previous year. Disclaimer: This figure differs significantly from the Bundesverband E-Commerce und Versandhandel Deutschland e.V. (bevh)'s calculation, which predicted a 1.8 per cent decline in sales for German e-commerce in 2023. The reasons for the differences are complicated and lie in the methodology... To put it simply, the bevh surveys German online consumers once a week about their online spending, while the HDE surveys German companies once a year about their online revenue (B2C). If consumers don't admit that they shopped at Temu again last week and companies attribute their cross-border sales to the German company, discrepancies arise between the two perspectives. There are many more reasons. If you want a deep dive on this, let us know. A whopping 60 percent of these 85.4 billion euros are turned over on Amazon.de! 17 percent is accounted for by Amazon's own business (own brands + vendors), 43 percent via the Marketplace (sellers). And 11 percent of e-commerce sales - or 9.3 billion euros - are generated by other marketplaces such as eBay, OTTO, Kaufland Global Marketplace, Zalando, Douglas, MediaMarktSaturn... according to HDE. This means that the marketplace business model's share of sales in German e-commerce has once again risen slightly - but it was almost exclusively Amazon that was able to secure the additional market share. Nevertheless, the other marketplaces also increased their sales - or to put it another way: Online growth in Germany in 2023 took place on Amazon and a few other marketplaces. Nowhere else. I have to confess that I have been nervous: Standing on this massive stage in front of an 11k people audience and speaking to no one less than Mateo Price, Chief Strategy Officer of MrBeast. 🤯 What a beast of an experience… 😉 During our interview on the OMR Conference stage this Tuesday, Mateo shared fascinating insights on how AI is transforming their creative process. My biggest three take aways: 1. Mateo outlined their creative process, spanning ideation, design, production, editing and localisation. AI tools are already being utilized broadly! 2. AI’s biggest benefit is saving time: As MrBeast reinvests every single dollar back into new video production, their main constraint is time. AI tools enable them to work faster and more efficiently. 3. Their favourite AI tool is Aloud, Youtube's dubbing feature, and multi-language-audio: MrBeast's content is already available in 15 languages around the globe. And now the best news of the week: Soon, there will be a 16th language available – GERMAN! 🎉 This is a perfect example of what I believe: AI will significantly enhance creativity. 💪 At YouTube, we're thrilled to see how top content creators like MrBeast experiment with AI tools. Expect the Unexpected!! You won't believe what happened to me, but there's a great lesson in it for us as network marketers. Last October, I went to Germany to visit my brother. I was super excited, but on a train ride, I lost my luggage. All of it. The only clothes I had were the ones I was wearing, and it was only the beginning of my trip! I had to make do with just those clothes for the whole time. They eventually found my suitcase, but get this—it didn't get delivered to my brother's place until months later. By that time, I was already back home. So, my awesome niece picked it up when she went on a trip and brought it back to Ontario for me. I was there visiting family, so on my way back home, I had two suitcases: the one I brought and the one my niece brought back from Germany. Now, here’s the kicker. I arrived in Halifax, and guess what? The suitcase I brought with me went missing! Like, seriously? How does that even happen?! I couldn’t believe my luck. I guess it’s just my special talent for losing luggage! So, what’s the lesson here for us network marketers? Expect the Unexpected: Just like I had to deal with losing my luggage twice, in network marketing, things don’t always go as planned. Be prepared for surprises and have a backup plan. Stay Persistent: I didn't give up when my luggage was lost. I found ways to get by and eventually got my things back. Similarly, in our business, persistence is key. It's OMR in Hamburg. Here are my 5 (non-AI generated) small talk tips on the subject of AI 1. When will the bubble burst? "I think AI is really exciting, but I still don't see enough convincing practical examples. I can recognize AI-generated content 5 miles upwind! 2. Job security "Sam Altman says that AI will take over 95% of all marketing tasks. But in the end, it's always the human who makes the decisions" 3. AI Washing "What really annoys me: everyone pretends to be AI natives as soon as they have a headline written by chat.gpt. 4. AI Armageddon If climate change doesn't kill us, AI will. We won't need bats for the next deadly virus. AI will soon build it all by itself. 5. Search is dead. "I don't Google anything anymore - only AI. it's funny how backward Google search now seems." Always asked myself, if I can be happy …always? As an entrepreneur you are in the natural habit of optimizing all aspects of a project so why don’t optimize your life?
