This tour was one of the highlights of our trip! Incredible views and amazing staff. Or tour guide Kennedy was very awesome, she taught our group a ton of interesting things about the farm, surrounding area and deep history of pineapples and canneries. She also gave some excellent recommendations for things to do afterwards such as eat over at the flatbread pizza company - highly recommend the pineapple pizza - thanks for that!

Stoked to eat our pineapples and give a shot at growing our own back home in Colorado!

      1 check-in

Came on the tour with some friends. This experience was absolutely great! From the moment you check in you get assigned into a tour bus and Rudy takes it from there! He takes pride and sharing the history of Maui gold pineapple plantation and he knows everything that goes on. He shared the process to plant, harvest, Sanitation process and how it ends up on the shelf. The experience is very beautiful. They even take pictures of families on the tour and email them to you for free for a keepsake. You also get a free pineapple on your way out. Definitely worth a trip.

If you're obsessed with pineapples like I am, this tour is for you. It's kinda like a museum tour where they go over the history and facts except you also get to touch the products! They had a little store you can browse while you wait for your tour. Then they get you on a mini school bus to start the tour.

The whole tour was about 1.5 hours and didn't require much walking. They drove us through the pineapple fields and explained the different types of equipment. We then reached a little sitting area in the middle of the field with gorgeous views to learn more about pineapples and try and few slices. Part of what we learned was how to plant one on our own which you can get directions for after the tour.

We then drove through a field of baby pineapples and I was sad we didn't get to stop because they were so cute!! We then stopped at a field of mature pineapples to take pictures. The last stop was back towards the front where we got to see the production site of packaging the pineapples and picked up our own box to take home.

I wrapped up my time there was a frozen pineapple slushee from a mini cart in front of the building because I couldn't help myself. I loved my time there and it gave me more appreciation for growing a pineapple which takes 1.5 years!! The Maui gold ones were extremely sweet and I can see why they're so expensive.

We just took the Maui Pineapple tour on June 19, 2024. Shiloh was our tour guide. Apologies if I misspelled his name. Anyhoo, the tour was beautiful, informative, and our Shiloh was witty and funny. I bow down to the generations that have kept this tradition alive. Following this was the distillery. We left with a bottle of their blended whiskey: very smooth taste. Thanks for the memories. Highly recommend!!!

Very informative tour of one of the last active pineapple plantation fields in the state of Hawaii, and Maui Gold Pineapple Plantation is a great way to find out more about how the popular fruit is grown and harvested along with its history! A pineapple is included in the admission for each guest, which is awesome and yes, you can take it on the plane with you (it does not count as a carry-on).

You get to see the various stages of pineapple, from planting to baby stage to ripe stage and everything in between. And you'll get to sample the pineapple slices as well. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about these pineapples and explained very well how the fields are maintained and what to look for. We were on a shuttle bus that took us through the large fields and also provided excellent views of Kahului and the West Maui Mountains in the distance. Totally recommended especially if you love pineapples!

Best pineapples I've ever had! The tour isn't extensive but you do get to see the pineapples at various stages of growth AND you get to sample some and take one with you. You can see the lifecycle since you get to visit the packing plant and see the operations.

You'll learn some great facts about pineapples too. Plus you can grab some merch when you get dropped off.

      Love these pineapples!!

We stopped by without a reservation for the Pineapple tour and were disappointed to find out that they were sold out for the day. I recommend going online and securing a spot before you make the trek.

We did visit the guest area and attempted to try the tasting of spirits made in the distillery.

I was immediately stopped at the door and was not allowed in, they were extremely rude in explaining that they were out of the spirit I was interested in.

I turned and walked away surprised that they really we not interested in serving any of us.

We settled on buying my daughter a shirt to at least say we were at the plantation and we checked out.

Not one person smiled here, nor do they make you feel welcome.

I would avoid this experience if you can.

BTW, Pineapples are just shy of $50 each to take home, just a little
more than the $5.00 at Costco. Safeway has a better deal.
