Well, where do I start? How about: this was a SUPER rad experience. Live on Maui? Visiting? Either way it's a fun experience where you meet new faces, learn something new, see cool stuff and have lots of fun.
Marilyn is a hoot--so much fun, zest and aloha! She has a big heart and a crazy love for this island. We've lived on Maui for a couple years and she taught us some cool stuff that we didn't know. We hopped in her big van and had a fun tour to:
-Ocean Vodka
-Surfing Goat Dairy
-Ali'i Lavander Farm
-Ulupalaku Ranch + Maui wine
And along the way she handed out fresh banana bread (that SHE baked!) and cold bottles of water (say what? So thoughtful!) As we drove, she would point out things like: the kinds of trees we were seeing, the history of this or that, how things had changed over the years... Interesting things that kept the conversation flowing.
Her van has a microphone for her to use so it's great for people who sit in the back. We could hear everything she was saying. She made sure to open doors for guests and make sure the temperature inside the van was okay for everyone.
There are different tours to choose from to hone in on where you want to go and what you want to see. She really knows her stuff and made us smile and laugh with her bubbly personality and energy. She caters to her guests and made us feel like her 'ohana.
Thank you so much Marilyn! We had so much fun.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Amy D.San Jose, CA09Oct 21, 2015First to Review
Marilyn and Robbie were absolutely lovely and so accommodating that they picked me up right from my hotel in between Paia and Makaoa.
Prior to the pick up, Marilyn was always available via phone if I had questions about planning the logisitics and I found her to be very sweet and kind over the phone.
As soon as Marilyn greeted me at the pick up, I knew I was in for a real treat. She has this magnetic energy and passion. She knows how to connect with people and make them feel comfortable.
I was traveling alone and joined a group of others wonderful tourists that were part of the tour. Marilyn and Robbie were well versed in their knowledge of the history of the culture, agriculture and plants.
The tour included stops at the lovely Lavender garden, Maui winery, and the Surfing Goat Dairy. Their timing was spot. One of the highlights of the tour was the lunch. It was in a lovely park, tucked away in a hillside, overlooking Maui, It was a perfect day. The real treat was when Marilyn pulled out her Ukulele and started singing lovely songs - one of which was "Somewhere over the rainbow". It was delightful.
The tour ended with the other tourists departing at the airport. This was not just an ordinary curbside drop-off. Marilyn actually accompanied them to the check in counter and helped them get their bags through. This is not something that an ordinary tour company would do. I remained in the van and chatted with the delightful Robbie.
I cannot thank Maui Country Farm Tours for such a memorable experience. It was truly one of the highlights of my trip, and I could not have done the trip alone. Marilyn has contacts and knows the inside scoop on how these various businesses operate. Please consider her tour as an option for you to see the back country of beautiful Maui. You will thank yourself and you will make a friend or two.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - George O.Long Beach, CA1568Oct 9, 2017
Beautiful well kept grounds with plenty of tropical plants/flowers. There is a nice gift shop, ice cream shop, and fruit stand at the location. There is zip lining and a tour also. There is a good restaurant in the plantation (tasty and well priced). Great activity for children and expect to spend about 2-3 hours at the location.

I loved spending my first full day on Maui having Marilyn introduce me to the plants, vegetables. trees and shorelines of this most beautiful island. Marilyn took me to a farmers' market where I tried many fruits and vegetables that were new to me. Everyone at the market was friendly and full of information about growing food. I learned so much. The Lavender Farm was amazing...part zen...beautiful flowering lavender of many types that I could smell and touch! The lavender scone and hot tea on a misty warm day was so delightful- Marilyn even made a short slideshow for me to take home to remember this wonderful day. I learned new music (BTW Marilyn has a great voice) and learned so much about Maui on my full day tour of this most beautiful island! A stop at the Whole Foods at the end of the day allowed me to pick up some dinner back at the hotel. Marilyn is a gem and I most highly recommend you contact her to explore the beauty of Maui...the people, plants, mountains. countryside, shorelines and best of all the sea turtles sunning on the beach! Mahalo! I will return!
