excellent service - kudos to all the staff!
Perhaps because the space is so new and details haven't been ironed out: not a warm feeling, at all.
Stayed in a suite, which was spacious and had some wonderful amenities (complementary pantry, 2 bathrooms, etc.). Functionality in large bathroom needs some help. For example, the water from the "open " shower gets all over the bathroom floor - maybe some sort of a barrier required? The sink knobs, although aesthetically pleasing, are hard to turn off when one's hands are wet.
This guesthouse is all about privacy, hence a "secret" entrance, no lobby - a bit much!
The rooftop area is truly spectacular - pool, hot tub, lounges, heated dining space, beautiful views - the jewel of the guesthouse!
The restaurant , which is open to the public, has amazing food, albeit pricey.
Love the location - near the Whitney, restaurants, boutiques and a very "happening" neighborhood.
All in all, ambience feels very contrived and not worth the cost - will be returning to our favorite upper east side hotel (I'll refrain from naming) on our next visit.

Restoration Hardware is one of my fav retailers so I was elated when the corporation opened the adults-only RH Guesthouse experience in NYC's meatpacking District. The property targets well-heeled guests requiring all the creature comforts, exclusivity and precise privacy. Armed with 10 guest, amenity packed rooms of various configurations spanning 2 stories, the pinnacle Guesthouse is a striking sanctuary of privacy and opulence. This accommodation jewel is a glamorous, full floor penthouse embracing a 2600 sq. ft. footprint with 11 foot ceilings. Everything is designed with extreme precision, and no expense has been spared in outfitting the dwelling with amenities ranging from paneled walls to Corinthian columns to bespoke contemporary furnishings. I lost out on a stay here as rooms are booked via inquiry only. Other perks include a rooftop patio with a dining terrace and 2 restaurants: the Dining Room and the Champagne and Caviar Bar.
So, if upper crust luxury, exclusivity and seclusion packed with a significant financial punch is in your hotel profile.............then try the.....................RH Guesthouse...........
