The Big Apple, New York City is the world's global city. The City of New York is among the world's leaders in any number of categories including global commerce, finance, media, culture, art, fashion, research, education, and entertainment.

There are three primary airports servicing the New York City region. These include John F. Kennedy International Airport (airport code JFK), LaGuardia Airport (airport code LGA), and New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport (airport code EWR). JFK Airport is a hub for American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and JetBlue Airways and handles approximately 45 million passengers annually. LaGuardia handles roughly 23 million passengers each year with US Airways, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, and United Airways flying to and from the airport most frequently. Lastly, Newark Airport serves slightly more than 35 million passengers, is a hub for Continental Airlines, and operates flights most frequently from carriers Continental, United Airlines, COPA Air, and Virgin Atlantic.

The City of New York features a number of tourist attractions including the 102-story Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller Center with its "Top of the Rock" Observation deck, Radio City Music Hall and famous ice rink, Times Square, Central Park, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and more than 5,000 other attractions.

Many tours of the city are available. Some, by bus, give a general overview of the city, others by horse and carriage are more romantic and personal, and still other niche walking tours can give any visitor a more intimate sense of New York City's cuisine, nightlife, or even Hollywood film scenes.

The subway system in the city is extensive with greater than 450 station stops with all but two operating 24 hours a day. In the most trafficked stations, the city places street musicians that have won city-wide contests. New York City is also accessible from more distant locales via NJ Transit, Long Island Rail Road, and PATH trains.
