I have had a few tacos in my life, but mostly from fusion restaurants and never from Mexican-run restaurants, so while wandering around Chelsea market we took our chance and bought a few tacos from Los Tacos no. 1. You need to queue, place your order and then show the receipt to the fast guys who will prepare your tacos in front of you. Prices are fair, although one taco calls for another and everytime we would spend about 25 usd. We loved them all except for cactus, and even their nachos with salsa were lovely. All in all this have been the best tacos of my life, and I am looking forward to having more in the future. Totally recommend

You walk through the Chelsea Market and see a small cart with a really long line and very happy people eating these amazing fresh rolled breakfast burritos...you eat one and you immediately get back in line. Then the next time i went to the counter for tacos and its the same thing with the tacos...you just keep ordering. Nothing like it.

Saw this on Bobby Flay and we knew we had to visit. We walked from our Times Square hotel and it took 45 minutes. We went straight to Los Tacos and the line was short at 11:30 a.m. but by 1 p.m. when we were leaving the market, it was out the restaurant. We ordered steak, chicken, and pork tacos. The quesadillas is the same as the taco, it just has cheese on it. After you order, you stand in a second line where they make your tacos and ask you flour or corn tortilla, and then ask you your toppings: onion, cilantro, guac, salsa. We also ordered some guac, salsa, and chips and there were just ok. There is really no place to sit down and eat. I would suggest ordering drinks/shakes from the Creamline and eating in their place. We also found some window seating back by the Big Mozz. We would eat again next time in NYC.

Very long line, very confusing/hectic. Tacos were just so-so, but that is probably because when the guy asked us what kind of flour we wanted he didn't give me time to answer, walked away and then came back like 5 mins later with a plate. He didn't ask what toppings we wanted like the other workers were doing with other customers - so I got toppings on mine that I don't like.

We visited the Chelsea Market location mid afternoon on a Friday with the goal of eating here because of the reviews. There was a long line, but it moved quickly. They have a very limited menu, which I suppose helps the line move, but you get what they give...no choices. I ordered the chicken tacos, which were good, but there are only 3 toppings: onions, pico, and a guacamole sauce. I can’t eat onions so ordered without those, but pico and guacamole usually have onions in them. The tacos were small so I ate them anyway. My wife however, is vegetarian and her choice was limited to the cactus taco. She had never had cactus, but tried it. She was not impressed...she said it was basically a slimy flavorless filler. We were also disappointed that unlike all of the other food vendors, there was not seating or a counter to eat at once you got the tacos so we needed to walk around until we found a table at another vendor.

Workers are so f-ing rude and rushed service. Food is 4/10 not worth it and I asked for a quesadilla and gave me something that looks like a taco not worth the price. I would skip this place not worth it at all. I didn’t give the cashier a tip and she acted rude after she looked at the no cash tip because she was beyond rude. I can't believe it! I spent $50 here and couldnt even feed 3 people. Lmao what a joke!

Visited Los Tacos No 1 after our first day in NYC. We had been snacking throughout the day sofancied something not too filling. And wow, we are so glad we came. We had pork tacos, steak quesadillas and a side of the nicest homemade tortilla chips and guacamole I have ever had. The prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of the food. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Located in Chelsea Market, This is a must stop when visiting NYC. I visited on a solo birthday trip to NYC is August 2021. The line was very long when I arrived by the staff worked really hard to get everyone in and out, so don't be intimated by a long line. The staff were super friendly, they explained everything to you and had lots of patience with everyone. I ordered 3 tacos, 1 steak and 2 chicken, I added my condiments, which were spread out on the counter, covered and ate on the first floor of Chelsea Market. The tacos were phenomenal!! 10 out of 10. Overall great experience.

I recommend the carne asada and the pollo asado on corn tortillas. I went on a Sunday lunchtime and there was a decent sized lineup but it moves fairly quickly. Order at the counter first and then find a seat they will bring to your table.

Fast service, efficient, delicious! Don't be fooled by the size of these tacos, they certainly fill you up quick. I recommend one try all of the taco options available on the menu. They don't skimp on ingredients and each of these tacos have plenty of fillings. The horchatas and Jamaica's are good drinks to also have. I've been here twice in less than 24 hours cause it tasted so good.

One of our two best meals in Chelsea Ny. The 30 minute wait was worth every minute and would do it again in a heartbeat. We tried the pork and chicken tacos. We also tried the steak especial fried quesadilla. The group agreed the pork tacos were the best of them all. Note/ quesadillas come with all toppings (onion/cilantro/guacamole) unless you request them to exclude them which we didn’t know. We are used to those being taco toppings so our order was made incorrectly due to us not knowing BUT they gladly remade it at no charge. Will visit again when in NYC! The hype behind this one is spot on.

I was in Chelsea Market & decided to again visit Los Tacos No 1. You order & pay & then take your receipt to the counter, where one of the cooks prepares your order in front of you. I had 3 tacos; Carne Asada (beef), Pollo Asado (chicken) & the Adobada (pork). When I bit into my 1st taco, the flavors & aromas bounced all around my senses of taste & smell; I had forgotten how wonderfully delicious the street tacos are here! No wonder there’s always a line to get in & order. I like to take my tacos with me to the High Line park & eat them there. It’s only about a 1 minute walk.

Yummy tacos and friendly service. Even tho I had to wait as the beef was still cooking, Alan was very generous to offer an extra tacos for the wait. He was also seen patiently teaching the newer staff how to do certain things like folding the tacos etc. Good food and good service. Just a tad pricey but it's NYC.

I came into this meal with high expectations since Los Tacos is often super hyped up. I walked away feeling satisfied, but not blown away. This was probably because I just was at Los Mariscos, which had divine fish tacos. The chicken and beef I had at Los Tacos was quite tasty, but it was just like any taco I’d eat at a good Mexican restaurant. The tacos, however, did taste very fresh and pretty flavorful.

This is the place to go excellent. Tacos were absolutely excellent. Usually, there's a long line plan around that. Make sure to pick up your extra topping at the end, we had both soft shell, flower and corn tortillas. Absolutely, recommend any type of taco.
