The Evenia Rocafort Hotel is located in a strategic area of the city: very close to the park and the exhibition site of Montjuic and various points of tourist-cultural interest, such as the Magic Fountains, the Caixa Forum or the Las Arenas shopping centre, built inside the former bullring of Barcelona. A small hotel with a very personalized service... The Evenia Rocafort hotel has 51 bedrooms, guaranteeing its guests personal attention. It may also be referred to as a family hotel, slightly unusual in city hotels due to the high number of clients and bedrooms. The Evenia Rocafort hotel staff is always at your disposal to satisfy all your needs and to help you make the most of your visit to Barcelona.

Everything about this hotel is great except the mattresses were the worst I have ever slept on in a hotel. I only got a couple hours or sleep maybe. If they change the mattresses I would definitely highly recommend and stay again.

Had an absolutely fabulous time in Barcelona!!! Will definately go back soon and would stay at Cotursa Rocafort again!! It is approx 100mtrs away from Poble Sec Metro station (turn right out of hotel door!) which will take you to any destination you choose!

The hotel was clean, the rooms spacious and the bathroom was really nice with bidet and great shower and bath to relax your weary walking legs!! Beer was cheap in hotel, 2 bottles of local beer for 4 euros (better than paying 9 euros on La Ramblas!). Breakfast was pretty average, not complaining at all, selection of the usual continental cuisine, though the cold milk for the cereal was luke warm!! View from room was of other hotel room windows but didnt bother us as we were never in the room long enough to look out!!! Brilliant Chinese Restaurant to the right of Poble Sec Metro Station on Av.Parellell called Dong Lin, cost 28 Euros for prawn crackers, starters for two, main courses and rice for two plus beers!!! FABULOUS!!! Get it Booked!!!

Firstly there is a Metro station at the bottom of the road (Poble Sec - if come out on C de Manso exit just come up stairs and do 180 degree turn and you heading straight up the road to the hotel) on line L3, 3 stops away from La Ramblas (which is probably walkable though I didn't attempt it). Very handy plus Placa d'Espanya (airport bus from and to hotel), Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya and Fonta Magica (must see the night show but note not on every night) are in walking distance, say less than 20 minutes.

Staff very helpful and all spoke english. I had a problem locking my door one morning and the hotel chap fixing something in the next room took 5 minutes out to fix it for me. Didn't need to contact reception!

Hotel is actually quite stylish. Large pictures are held up in the lobby by large black clothes pegs and there are fake LPs hanging from the ceiling in the lobby (looks better than it sounds). Records were by some bod I'd never heard of plus Michael Jackson, David Bowie and Prince. (Worryingly these were put up 3 years ago and now they are all dead. Hmm). Some very comfortable and again stylish chairs are in the lobby - believe they said it was all done by an Italian designer.

Computers - have both iMac and Windows machine though I had trouble with both - it's just how the hotel has set them up I think. I had to e-mail my boarding pass to the hotel from it for them to print on their printer as I couldn't print it from the computers. Annoying but they were very helpful in enabling me to print my boarding pass. (Always seem to have some trouble in this area abroad).

The room was also stylish again with fake LPs (different artists) hung off the head board, some modern art piece on the wall, all with modern lighting. All very good but no bath - walk in shower. Suited me but maybe not for other. Had air con, safe tv, small desk and chair - all mod cons. The room was supposed to be soundproofed - not sure about this and reception wasn't either, however apart from what sounded like a couple of teenage girls singing loudly one evening in a nearby room, I didn't have any problems. In fact that's all I heard all week - made we wonder if the other rooms near me were empty. All quite clean. Room was round the back so no road noise issues and the road the hotel is on doesn't seem overly busy. There is a small supermarket a few doors up from the hotel which I found useful - drinks are cheaper than from the mini bar/fridge in the room.

Breakfast - record/modern art decor continues in the restaurant/breakfast area which provides more than adequate breakfast options (€8.50 per day) for most - I was happy with it and it compared well with other hotels I've been to in the last few years. Usual croissants, cereal, fruit, yogurt, rolls, cold meat, fruit juice and coffee etc.. Probably missed a few. I didn't pay attention to external breakfast possibilities to be fair so if you prefer not to pay extra/more for eating in you'll need to check other reviews. Sorry. Although I did find a nice ice cream shop in I think the Av de Mistral - handy if coming back from Placa D'Espanya! Also it's cheaper than buying say in La Ramblas. And better.

Basically, does the job nicely, I would recommend it and might well stay there again if I couldn't get anything closer to La Ramblas. Finally the area surrounding the hotel seems to be quite safe. Had no problems.

How the service in a hotel is pretty much decides what you think of the hotel. I was greeted by a woman in reception who was snotty and not service minded at all. She put me in a very dark room with windows facing an inner courtyard and because I was on floor 2 not much light reached the window. I saw that they had better rooms when passing a room they were cleaning out. When I arrived I asked if they had a safe in the room. She said yes and nothing more. When I got to my room and looked at the safe it turns out that I needed a key for it. I was really angry going back down because I had asked and all she said was that I should have asked for the key...how am I going to know if it is a code or a key and that I need to ASK for one. She was really rude to me. I also had problems with my key until one of the men working in the reception fixed it for me. Obviously the woman in the reception was bad at her job. When I asked about sights she was only interested in selling her tickets to the citytour. When I didn't want to buy one she got rude again...hopeless.
It was a bit of a walk to Ramblas and if I go back I would choose a hotel closer to it. It was close to the subwaysystem so it was easy to get around. The area was quiet and there were some bars where you could get a snack and a drink around the area.
The room was ok. Fridge, tv, hairdryer etc. Cleaning was so and so but the sheets were clean.
All in all, a dark room a bit off and with bad service....wouldnt go back!

My first time at Barcelona wanted a Hotel near Les Ramblas and in the centre. This hotel is 5 mins away from the Metro stop and 3 stops away from Les Ramblas. Normal room with satellite tv. Wi Fi always connected. Cleanliness ok. Bars and restaurants close enough.Very good value for money especially for couples .

The Hotel was very clean and quiet and the staff always helpful. We asked for a room with a bath and they changed the room without hesitation. It was a fair distance walking to the main tourist areas but we preferred the peace and quiet after a day of walking and sightseeing.

Just had a four night stay at the Evenia Rocafort. The room was very comfortable, although not large. The beds were very much to our liking as they were very firm. The bathroom was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was very good. The hotel is well located, being very close to 2 metro stations and within a 10 minute walk to Placa D'Espanya (Big shopping centre and lots of places to eat). We found it quick and easy to get wherever we wanted to go.

I would say that it was worth doing. There was a good selection of cereals, cold meats, cheese etc. Also scrambled eggs, bacon and chipolata sausages. Staff very helpful.

Hi I do know the hotel does breakfast, continental with some hot options -however, this was an additional extra when we made our booking. I’m sure when you arrive at the hotel you will be able to clarify this. If you don’t have breakfast included there’s a fab little coffee shop cafe just up the street, 5 mins away - turn left out of the hotel, stay left and it’s on the corner, yellow signage I think. There is one closer but I went with the hotels recommendation and found it easily and very affordable- good range of coffees, pastries, cake and sandwiches etc. Hope that helps ;-)

Yes, if I remember rightly there is one opposite just before the corner - hope that helps.
