The Evenia Rocafort Hotel is located in a strategic area of the city: very close to the park and the exhibition site of Montjuic and various points of tourist-cultural interest, such as the Magic Fountains, the Caixa Forum or the Las Arenas shopping centre, built inside the former bullring of Barcelona. A small hotel with a very personalized service... The Evenia Rocafort hotel has 51 bedrooms, guaranteeing its guests personal attention. It may also be referred to as a family hotel, slightly unusual in city hotels due to the high number of clients and bedrooms. The Evenia Rocafort hotel staff is always at your disposal to satisfy all your needs and to help you make the most of your visit to Barcelona.

We stayed at Evenia Rocafort in July and it was quite OK. The location is great: a quiet street, close to the metro station and other tourist attractions. The room was clean, the furniture looked good, but the best thing was the bathroom (nice and clean). I didn't like the view though, or I should say there was no view, because the window opened to an interior courtyard. We had a problem with the cleaning lady who kept forgetting to put soap and shower gel in the bathroom (so I had to go to the reception to ask for); more annoying was that we found the pajamas two or three times thrown on the coffee table over the bags, food and the stuff we had there. It was a bit strange.
Breakfast is good, the same every day, but the food is fresh and tasty. We could also use the computers in the lobby or the WI-fi if you had a laptop or smartphone.
If I return to Barcelona, I will probably stay at Evenia Rocafort again despite the small inconveniences.

Great location and central....the hotel was only a 2-3 min walk from the Metro Poble Sec. La Rambles is a 15 min walk away or 2 stops on Metro. Room was fine....the air conditioning was much needed in August...the only down side was the constant slamming of doors from inconsiderate guests late at night.I would recommend this hotel and will use it again.Don't forget to request a room with a window.

We were sent to this hotel because the hotel we originally booked with didn't have room for us. It was a pleasant surprise! A good location just off a main street, very close to Poble Sec metro stop. Very small rooms, but clean, modern and comfortable. We were quite happy.

We booked this hotel along with flights organized by lowcostholidays.com and paid £420 for 2 people, flights, 3 nights b and b. We selected this hotel from reviews on TripAdvisor and were not disappointed. As advised, we asked for a street facing room (there aren't that many per floor) on a higher floor. I found I needed my ear plugs to sleep with the window open (there is aircon but I preferred not to use it); the room itself was quite large enough, and equipped with all necessities. Breakfast was perfectly adequate and a reasonable selection of food. The proximity of the hotel to Poble Sec and Placa Espanya meant that travelling around Barcelona, as well as to and from the airport via Aerobus, was easy and convenient. The staff on reception were really helpful, especially the young lady who checked us in. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel was nice enough, in a good enough location, until our second night when we discovered bed bugs swarming the entire room. They had gotten into our suitcase and were all over the bed and pillows. We went down to complain when we discovered them at midnight and the front desk guy shrugged and told us they were just in our room. I asked him how they appeared on the third floor in a corner room and he just smiled. Disgusting, we moved hotels to the Plaza a few blocks down, only 70 Euro for the night, clean and comfortable.

Responded Jan 13, 2012
Dear Ms. B M First of all apologies for the delay on our response, the reason is that we have been studying the causes of the complaint. We have consulted with the company that carries the theme of the spraying and has confirmed that the bugs found in the room are sow bugs that have appeared due to some maintenance work carried out recently in the pipes of the room. We really apologize for the inconveniences, we are very sorry that you had to leave the hotel. Any way we understand and we are sorry about that. We checked in all rooms the days after and everything was fine. So we wanted to explain that this was an isolated situation that we solved right away. is the first time we have Is the first time we have an allegation of this kind and believe that we take very seriously the health and safety issues. We regret very much what happened and as you know, we have told the travel agency to return the amount of the nights not used in our hotel. Our sinceres apologize once again. Hotel Evenia Rocafort

The hotel has a cool retro vibe with quirky little touches such as hats for lampshades & LP`s for light fixtures.
It`s excellently located 10 minutes walk from 2 metro stations & also 10 minutes from the magic fountain(a must see). There are many restaurants & bars in the area & Las Ramblas is a 20 minute walk away.
The room was spotless & the beds large & comfortable.
The staff were very friendly & helpful.

We had a great time on our trip to Barcelona and our stay at this hotel made it even better.. It is in walking distance of of many restaurants and pubs and other points of interest. We could walk to the arena and take public trans. anywhere. Evan at the desk helped point us in the right direction for special interest, and went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. We are looking forward to next year!

The idea of making a reservation ahead of time, first is to get a good price and a nice room, apparently it did not work. planning our trip to Barcelona six months in advance was not enough , after expending many days and hours on the internet searching for a good hotel to stay for seven nights and the end I choose this hotel for the price location and special for the reviews that most of them were very good. My only request was to have a nice room with a nice view ( you will see the view that we get )
The room was fully paid for the whole stay in advance, after we arrive to Barcelona on a Saturday afternoon, check in and went to hour room, almost when you open the door you have to jump to the bed ( no space ) dirty walls with two twin beds next to each other ( I had request a king bed ) and the most UGLY bedspread I had ever see ( looks like very OLD AND DIRTY ) but the worth thing still to come, once you sit down on the bed, forget about the mattress, better to sleep on the floor but there was no space.!!!!!!!!!!! open the drape to see my magnificent view!!!
you will no believed it, on the ground floor some air conditions compressors and all over hanging clothes from windows and balconies from the buildings next to the hotel. ( I LOVE THE VIEW!!!)
we back to the front desk to ask the clerk at the front desk to change my room but as usual he told me that they were completely full but to try to do it tomorrow in the morning ( very nice way to wash his hands, then you go next morning and they will tell you that they finish full last night and that we will need to wait until check out time to se if they can change our room )
While I was at the from desk there was another couple doing their check in, but one minute before the clerk told me the he did not any other room available ( strange!!! or he did not want to change my room because NO ONE ELSE WILL TAKE THIS CRAB ROOM )
Best part was that even the room was prepaid in advanced for the seven nights with no refund or cancelation, ( reservation made with expedia ) get ahold of expedia and they refund me the next six nights, so and the I had to stay for one night is this dirty room with NICE VIEW for $ 200.
Breakfast that was included next morning, was another experience, a girl with a ATTITUDE , told her several times the the juice machine was not working, but she keeps saying that I need to push harder, some other guest told her the same thing, and then when ever she decided check the machine and find out that was empty so she did replaced it but still did not work, told her again and she keep replying tha I need to push harder (WHAT A SERVICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Was it was amazing that only three block aways for this hotel, found a rely NICE, CLEAN WITH EXCELENT SERVICE 3 STAR HOTEL even cheaper that this one HCC LUGANO where we stay the rest of our trip.

Located btwn Placa Espanya (where you will find Las Arenas, the bullfighting arena that was converted into a megamall--check out the roof in the evenings for the light and fountain show (seasonal) and Placa Catalunya, ER is quite central. If you take the airport transfer bus, it stops at both but I recommend you get off at Pl. Esp, but pay attention as some of the drivers refuse to answer questions so you could end up missing your stop! The hotels is also located btwn two subway stations: RED/L1 Rocafort and GREEN/L3 Poble Sac *closer* which makes getting around very easy, also on foot. The surrounding area has a LOT of bars and restaurants, all within a short walking distance. The immediate area is mostly residential and is very convenient for supermarkets, bakery, a few shops, etc. Sant Antoni Market is also a few blocks away but half of it was closed when I was there as it is being revamped. Overall the area is pretty safe, just be smart about it.

My room didn't look quite as bright and cheery as in the photos and the furniture was pretty basic and dated. You get the feel of a dorm room but it was roomy enough with a good amount of closet space, and for me, location is more important than the fanciness, and I don't spend much time in my room. I requested a room with a view as one review somewhere recommended but the "views" consist of either the bldg across the street where others live and there was work being done by guys on scaffoldings when I stayed so I couldn't open my curtains, or you get to face the courtyard and other occupants so don't go in there expecting any grand, city views of rolling waters or bright city lights. I found the pillows very soft and shaped funny but I made do. The room was OK in terms of cleanliness but the blanket covering the bed seemed dingy so I cast it aside. Ladies, I would highly recommend that you bring your own shampoo if you have hair longer than one inch, as the stuff provided at the hotel was like water and makes your hair feel unclean. The soap was also not very cleansing.

The staff at the hotel were very, very nice, especially the overnight guys at front desk. Agnes was also very kind and welcoming when she checked me in, and provided maps so I could find my way. Do yourself a favour and get acquainted with where you are in relation to where you want to go early on in the trip as Barcelona is a big city with LOTS to see, and you would be surprised how much you can access by foot (unless you hate walking), which allows one to see a lot. I did not have breakfast at the hotel so I can't comment on that. They offer luggage storage upon checkout which is super convenient if you're not due to leave early in the day. There is free wifi (often cut out on me, but good speed when it was fully functional) as well.

Price-wise, this hotel cost less than others in the area and met my requirements in terms of location and convenience, price, and cleanliness. BCN accommodations can get very pricey so if you don't need urban chic and just want a clean place to rest your head and take a shower, I would recommend considering Evenia Rocafort.

I would say that it was worth doing. There was a good selection of cereals, cold meats, cheese etc. Also scrambled eggs, bacon and chipolata sausages. Staff very helpful.

Hi I do know the hotel does breakfast, continental with some hot options -however, this was an additional extra when we made our booking. I’m sure when you arrive at the hotel you will be able to clarify this. If you don’t have breakfast included there’s a fab little coffee shop cafe just up the street, 5 mins away - turn left out of the hotel, stay left and it’s on the corner, yellow signage I think. There is one closer but I went with the hotels recommendation and found it easily and very affordable- good range of coffees, pastries, cake and sandwiches etc. Hope that helps ;-)
