Write a reviewWe stayed two nights at the AC l'Illa hotel in Barcelona. We had a very good experience.
The hotel is located on the Diagonsl, the long street running across the city. There!'s a tram line outside, but the end of the line is about a block to the right. This means you can only effectively take it in one direction. We used taxis during our stay.
The hotel is modern and clean lined. It's gorgeous! We had a suite, which had plenty of space. Looking at the floor plan the other rooms were probably suites too. The corridor was enormous. Like I said, there's plenty of space.
The suite was well appointed. The bed was wonderful. Leather sofa in the living room. The windows face onto the Diagonal, however they are effectively sealed to block out street noise. There's a double pane sealed layer of glass,then, six inches behind it is another double paned layer of glass.
The hotel is located within the 150 store l'Illa shopping center. Since it was raining all day, this was very convenient.
Are there negatives? I'm not sure how far away the metro subway stop is. The hotel is in an upscale district with lots of offices and a hospital. You need to leave the area to get to the center of town with the tourist attractions.
We were very happy with our stay. We would return.

I had two rooms (one for me/wife and other for kids, and we have a great time in the hotel.
I rather stay in Diagonal than in Rambla, because is not so crowded, is less touristic and has a lot of options of restaurants and shopping.

While checking out of the hotel I left my IPad in the room. Once I realized I had forgotten it I called the hotel from the Airport. I asked that they ship it to one of the upcoming hotels on my Spain trip and I would pay for this. I was told that they do not provide that service. Once arriving at my next destination, (another AC property in Seville) I asked the front desk for their help. They made several attempts to get the AC Diagonal to help with no success. After which they made the arrangements to have it picked up and shipped. Thank You AC Ciudad de Sevilla! Poorly done AC Diagonal! You need to learn from AC Ciudad what true customer service is!

I found very nice staff. Room was very clear and large. Comfortable bed and toilette. I really suggest this hotel for a stay in Barcelona. It's in a very quite residential area with many restaurants and shops

The hotel is in a very good position, centrally located and close to many shops. It is a bit far to the historical center or the sea if this is what you are interested in. The room was nice and very modern, even if not so clean when I came in. The worst was the wi-fi, so bad to be often almost impossible to use. A good thing was the people working there, always available, speaking excellent English and indeed really kind. A special thanks to Alejandro that upgraded me to suite due to my platinum card when the lower level upgrade was not available. Finally the breakfast was really good as well.
