Stayed there 5 or 6 times recently. Excellent hotel for business traveller, safe area across the road from the beach. Plenty of parking and taxis always available (usd 23 to airport). Small outdoor lap pool and small gym but very clean and well kept.
Breakfast Cafe style - OK but expensive.
Fast FREE WiFi and wired internet in rooms and public areas
Polite staff and security. Nice public areas.
TGI Fridays on site, other restaurant/bar next door and excellent Pizza/Italian (Mama Mia) 2 minutes walk away.
10 minute walk to Lanterns mall and Tapas restaurant

We stayed at a hotel across the street from this property but dined at the Marriott Courtyard in Hasting as regulars everyday and night for 10 days! As a former hotelier, I must congratulate this property for the very best bar/restaurant staff we have had the pleasure of having at our service. They were courteous, attentive, polite, good natured, friendly, helpful and fun loving. Our kudos go out especially to bar and dining staff; YAKSENIA, ANN-MARGARET, REPLEYES, ANDREA, ARRON and WILLIAM. I am a firm believer that "staff" can make or break the place, and these people were the highlight of our stay in the Barbados.

"We are world travelers and between us both have traveled to more than 260 of the most traveled and exotic cities and countries in the world, and we shall always remember our stay in Barbados because of you"

"Thank you again dear friends, your hotel and the Marriott organization in particular should be very proud to have you in their service!"
Sarah and David.

We stayed at Coconut Court beach hotel for a week and during our stay we enjoyed the change of ambience and food on 2 mornings by going over to The Bistro at Marriott for breakfast. We love the ham & cheese croissants, breakfast potatoes and the fresh juices with the local morning paper. We love the super-fast service!

The only thing that needs attention is the arctic temperatures in the lobby! Freezing even at midday, which we experienced when we popped over on a separate day for a snack and to watch a football match.

Despite not staying at Marriott this time, the staff remembered us from our stay with them the previous year and came over to say hello. This is a sure sign of a hotel that values its customers, whether they were past guests or simply passing through to use their facilities or to have a meal.

They can surely teach a lot to some of the local hotels that discourage non-resident visitors even if you're intending to patronize the restaurant, bar or shop.

Dear Trinidad Guest, We take great pride in welcoming both resident and non-resident guests to dine in our Centro restaurant. Some guests like you, appreciate the a la carte/Bistro style for breakfast, which offers fast and fresh options. We sincerely appreciate the feedback and hope that the next time you stay in Barbados that it would be with us! :) Warm Regards Kelly-Ann Mayers General Manager

Staying for business, outside of property is of a good standard and decor.

The reception/Lobby is nice and welcoming with air conditioning.

The looby also consists of a lounge area with plenty of seating and booths etc for working lunches etc.

There is good wifi throughout (average 1.5 - 2.0 Mbps) and once registeted you dont have to keep signing in every area of the hotel which is good.

There are a few desktop computers for use and printets attached.

The hotel has a 24hr snack/drinks by reception selling cola, water peanuts, crisps/chips etc.

A nice flatscreen tv has local information, temperature and ideas on it.

The rooms are of a comfortable standard and again with good A/C however when I arrived my A/C was off so took a while to cool the room unfortunately.

And windows do not open...

Good office chair and desk, complete with wired or wired free internet access. Its clear this is set up for business users however the desk lamp is not ideal if working at night. And main room lights shadow over your work space.

The room decor is tastefull with ample plug sockets (although the wall light at 2 metres off the ground had one so unsure what use that is?)

Complete with safe, mini fridge, iron and board, TV, alarm clock radio / i dock, bedside tables, coffee machine (not kettle) china mugs but no spoons only plastic stirrers.
And creamer powder not milk which personally I dont like, also running for hot water taints the taste of tea.

Two beach/pool towels and nice branded toiletries. (Paul Mitchell hair products)
On arrival the bathroom was clean although the grouting is starting to come away which is not good news for such a young property.

The catering is basic and personally I felt limited in choice of healthier fare. Its more like a fast food outlet with big lcd screens above with thefoid menus, breakfast was a poor quality. Omelette was oily and sausage tasteless, toast was not buttered or offered only jams/preservatives.
Dinner had a pizza to go which I left most as was stodgy and bland.

The hotel can access the beach accross the road and has its own fitness studio of good quality and a lap pool and sun deck.

My only complaint is that on my first morning I was woken at 8:30 from a deep sleep and TOLD my 2 bed roon was required and I needed to be moved just a few rooms away but was a balcony room.

I foolishly agreed and it took nearly 1 1/2 hours to get my belongibgs including work folder abd laprop to do work on a project I needed to conplete. I asked id the cost of breakfast could be waivered as I helped by moving and was told the balcony was my compensation (yet I didnt want one, and it was not even a view you wouldwant to sit and enjoy) when my belongings arrived I said id like to speak to the duty manager at some point.. and never got a call. Other than a pre recorded message selling the takeaway food outlet.

Overall has potential but I is lacking, marriott would be better upgrading the property type and offerring better food.
That would be a good start and warrent maybe another star rating alone.

Dear London Guest Thank you for taking the time to write such a detail review and for highlighting some of our many unique features. I was very sorry to hear that we let you down both in our Food & Beverage offerings and with our room move. I will follow up with the chef with reference to your comments to ensure that the necessary action is taken to ensure that our standards for our Bistro Style restaurant are maintained consistently. This hotel probably deserves 4 stars and was comfortable enough, but given the choice i would rather stay at one of the beach front hotels over the road even if they are perhaps less clinical but certainly make up for it with some West Indian character.

In the Marriot, the lack of a balcony confines most guests to their rooms and the air con unit was louder than most power stations which was perhaps my biggest problem.

Only two bottles of water for the whole duration a bit of a pain too and the anorexic swimming pool was definitely an after thought from the Marriot hotel bosses. Annoyingly, the bar was not in anyway comfortable or welcoming, that said, the staff were helpful and pleasant, straight out of Marriot Hotel training college.

If you come to Barbados and choose to stay at a Marriot then I suppose you won't be disappointed, plus with the TGI Friday's next door you can close the door on the Caribbean and pocket yourself a little bit of America on the island! If that's what you want from a trip to the West Indies!?!
