We needed somewhere to stay for 2 nights before moving up the coast to our holiday villa. The Marriott served the purpose very well. It is just across the road from the Boardwalk, so a good morning walk. Along the Boardwalk is Tapas an excellent sea front restaurant as well as every other type of restaurant you could want. In the other direction it is a short walk to Garrison Savannah for horse racing - fantastic as parking there is always tricky. Breakfast was really quite good with a friendly chef cooking omelettes to order as well as plenty of choice. We had a large suite with all expected amenities, sadly several of the chairs were needing replacing as bits were dropping off them - they came and cleared up quickly, but housekeeping should have noticed. The air con units in the room were very noisy and kept waking me up as they launched into action My biggest gripe was the energy being wasted to keep the lobby freezing cold. You would not want to hang about for long and a few degrees warmer would have been more acceptable and of course energy efficient.
For a short stay in the Bridgetown are and not far from the airport, I would recommend it.

Not the place to stay in Barbados for a multi day beach vacation but if you have to stay near Bridgetown but want a quiet relaxing place for a night or two, this is a good pick.
Rooms are fine. There is a small beach at the Coconut Court hotel across the street. The restaurant in the hotel is not quick at taking your order but service is friendly and food is fresh, delicious and authentically local.

We had a reservation for a resort on the island and due to our flight change we booked this hotel for the night prior to our resort reservation.
I dealt with Jennifer prior to arriving and she scheduled airport transportation for us and all contact with her was wonderful. Michael Read was the taxi driver waiting for us when we arrived at the airport and he gave us information about the island while we were on our way to the Courtyard. I would highly recommend him.
Once at the hotel, check in was quick and easy. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We booked a basic King non smoking room and it had plenty of room as well as a mini fridge and coffee pot. When we arrived we really wanted a little boost before we went out and explored, so we thought we would have a quick cup of coffee. Unfortunately, the coffee pot in the room didn't work properly. I remembered seeing a staff member from housekeeping just down the hall when we were on our way to our room, so I went and asked if it would be possible to get a different pot. She was very pleasant and she brought us a pot in just a couple minutes. She also made sure it worked before she left our room. Great service. Each staff member we encountered was very friendly and any questions we had were answered pleasantly and professionally.
We walked the boardwalk across the street and ate at Blakey's, a local restaurant on the boardwalk. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere at Blakey's and it was great to go out and walk around the area and never feel nervous.
As stated in other posts, this is not a resort, but I would not hesitate to stay there in the future and I recommend it for anyone staying a night or two for transfers or anyone that isn't looking for a resort feel, but want a clean and friendly place to stay. They have cabs on site (Michael being one of them) and they will take you wherever you choose to go.
Do not hesitate to book this hotel, if you are considering it.

As usual Marriott maintained his level of excellence.We took this hotel with our points but if I had paid the rate, I think it was would have been worth it. Upon check in, Stefan was attentive, courteous and upgraded our room. 15 mins later he called to verify if we liked the room. That's professionalism! The room was great, however just need to add a small microwave and for the ladies, a vanity makeup mirror in the bathroom. The pool is a nice touch for that lazy day, and the beach is across the busy street. May I suggest that Marriott get a crossing sign placed there due to the curve in the road? The restaurant in the lobby is good. The fish cakes are better than Oistens! It is obvious that this is a business hotel, however it is a good place to chill quietly with a family as well! Will definitely be back.

We do have a pedestrian crossing located by the exit to the hotel, which we encourage our guests to use rather than crossing by the entrance directly opposite the beach access where as you mentioned, the road curves.

Arrived at the hotel mid afternoon
, greeted at the entrance to the hotel and once again in the lobby by the friendly ladies at the front desk ,as expected with Marriott the decor was modern and in this relatively new property ,clean !
Check in was swift and efficient my room was on the second floor ,equipped with fridge ,coffee machine ,safe , iron etc ,room was quiet bed and pillows very comfortable
The Fridays restaurant next door has been closed since November but the hotel has a restaurant and there are plenty of eating places nearby
I used the pool which is long but not very wide but ok first thing in the morning this is my second time at the hotel which is across the road from the beach which is not a problem
Hotel is quiet clean suitable for business and leisure travellers and all staff are welcoming and very friendly .
