This is a very timely occasion for government, civil society and the experts to gather and discuss the new approaches Ukraine should find to champion the battle against disinformation. Just in the beginning of the weeek the new Media Literacy Index has been revealed by Detector Media showing the decline of the media literacy level of population from 81% in 2022 to 76% in 2023. The conference aims to map out ways of raising media literacy and exchange of experience and to gain a better understanding of possible feasible alliances/coalitions on this road. Among the conference’s goals is also to compare best Ukrainian practices with those in other countries and start to form foundations for implementing them. UNDP Ukraine supports this important discussion initiated by the Ministry of culture and information policy and OSCE in Ukraine, together with Council of Europe, European delegation to Ukraine, IMS and UNESCO.
